Mighty good job. A note: I have seen someone beat 'Dead Simple' in a total of 6 seconds by lowering a platform, walking up to the respective Mancubus, and rocket jumping off of them up to the switch platform to end the level.
@KhazeDUB well it definitely isnt UV, just look at how fast the fireballs are going and how fast the demons move, they only move like that on nightmare, at 0:45 you could actually see and hear some zombies respawn, they only do that on nightmare, and he gets twice the amount of ammo he would if on UV if you look at the bottom corner.
I still love turning on ZDoom and going to the level at 4:19 with 3 bots on nightmare with the respawning enemies, and just going to town, it's like an arena.

For the noobs out there or those who were never familiar with Compet-N, this is non-cheated. It's also not a TAS run (Tool Assisted Speedrun). @joseptea Well.... yes, but rocket jumps are a trick/novelty and not part of normal game-play. But yes, if one wants to blast themselves against a wall or object etc., you'll go flying somewhere lol. Just look at Sedlo's world record for Doom2 level 7. Done in like 7 seconds or such with some crazy rocket jumps.

im playing through doom2 for the first time on xbox. i just beat the first one last week. this vid is realy helpful on a lot of the realy big maps because there are a lot of places you don't need to go and just eat your ammo especialy on uv cuz theres a lot of enemies but you don't get the double ammo... refuling base 7:16 i probly never would have passed without lowering the difficulty if i didn't have this video to look for the best route
Doom II is not an easy game, thats why doomguy is one of the thoughest motherfuckers out there. But watching him get thorough the hordes of hell in nightmare difficulty, he just got to a whole new level of epicness for me.
This guy is a fucking pro. No matter how many years pass, millions of dollars spent in video game production or generic first-person shooters come out, Doom will ALWAYS be the best FPS ever made.
This is the first time I see Doom 2. I played Doom 1 when I was a kid and I saw Doom 3, the graphics are awesome. But Doom 2, I thought the graphics would be better than Doom 1, but it's the same quality.
@bbenjoe It looks to be played through GLBoom or GLBoom-plus. The recording itself was done on Doom 2 version 1.9, with no modifications whatsoever. Drew is just that damn good.
i have played doom 2 through on hurt me plenty difficulty and i had problems with onlu 2 or 3 lvls but this was craazy :D i have tried speedrun on ultra-violence but im not just fast enough :D thumbs up if this guy is awesome
The funny parts are when you hit an exit to a level with 50 enemies around and it just ends. It's like "oh ok he hit the exit no need to chase him and try to kill him anymore."

Its awesome because at some times you think the guy is going to die and he doesnt do those rocket jumps.. but it isnt nightmare. There isnt any enemies spawning at any point of the run.
what the hell are you talking about? why would we see any enemies respawn? he's not hanging around long enough for that to happen hence the title "SPEEDrun"
I think its stage 4 or 3, he was shooting zombies shotgun guys and hung out for a long time. Later on, in the first "boss stage" where they introduce the Flamethrower monsters, he kills everyone and again, no one respawns. Diffrence between a speed run on ultra violence and nightmare, you always have to run in nightmare. Hence why theres so many rocket jumps in a nightmare run. Because if they dont reach that ledge, bam, theyre dead.
In stage 3 he never goes back to any previous area so there is nothing you can prove from that. In stage 4 he finishes this level in 40 seconds. The little research I've done (Doom Wikia) says that re-spawning could be anywhere from 8 seconds to 2 minuets. It makes sense not to see re-spawning if your going through stages in 40 seconds. Same goes for the boss stage in which he finishes that in 55 seconds. Play the video starting from 01:34 till the end the stage. Notice how FAST Pink in moving?
In this case he can still use the -fast command on UV, although it's not the case. In Dead Simple, u have to kill all the Mancubus first and then, when he's fightning the Arachnotrons, u`ll see a Mancubus wondering around (or shooting like there's no tomorrow)
THANK YOU! At EXACTLY 05:04, you'll see a Mancubus re-spawn. The ONLY way to get the walls down is to kill ALL of the Mancubuses FIRST then to get the stairs down you have to Kill all of the Arachnotrons second. There is absolutely no way he can exit this stage the intended way with a Mancubus living unless it re-spawned. All that is left is for BigMostachio to say that this is still UV and he used both the -fast and -respawn command and hid it from us. This run has been verified years ago BTW.
AAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA...... oldschool games speedrun is so much more fun to watch that the new age bullshit..
I mean look at doom3, little did they know that we would have geforce 200 serie cards and quad cores to easily handle the game, it could easily manifest 200 more demons in the game and bigger maps... oh well...
This speed run is simply incredible! The whole game on Nightmare without dying once-I could only get to the second level on NM. Drew "stx-vile" Devore is a Doom god!

This is nightmare run,its unambigous.
Only look at monters.
For example,on map 02.
Why he shooted a lot of enemies?Because they are firing rapidly,demons a lot faster,imp's fireball is a lot faster.
And on map 07 the mancubi are respawning...

Its an awesome run, but its not nightmare.
Its awesome because at some times you think the guy is going to die and he doesnt do those rocket jumps.. but it isnt nightmare. There isnt any enemies spawning at any point of the run.

what the hell are you talking about? why would we see any enemies respawn? he's not hanging around long enough for that to happen hence the title "SPEEDrun"

I think its stage 4 or 3, he was shooting zombies shotgun guys and hung out for a long time. Later on, in the first "boss stage" where they introduce the Flamethrower monsters, he kills everyone and again, no one respawns. Diffrence between a speed run on ultra violence and nightmare, you always have to run in nightmare. Hence why theres so many rocket jumps in a nightmare run. Because if they dont reach that ledge, bam, theyre dead.

In stage 3 he never goes back to any previous area so there is nothing you can prove from that. In stage 4 he finishes this level in 40 seconds. The little research I've done (Doom Wikia) says that re-spawning could be anywhere from 8 seconds to 2 minuets. It makes sense not to see re-spawning if your going through stages in 40 seconds. Same goes for the boss stage in which he finishes that in 55 seconds. Play the video starting from 01:34 till the end the stage. Notice how FAST Pink in moving?

In this case he can still use the -fast command on UV, although it's not the case. In Dead Simple, u have to kill all the Mancubus first and then, when he's fightning the Arachnotrons, u`ll see a Mancubus wondering around (or shooting like there's no tomorrow)

THANK YOU! At EXACTLY 05:04, you'll see a Mancubus re-spawn. The ONLY way to get the walls down is to kill ALL of the Mancubuses FIRST then to get the stairs down you have to Kill all of the Arachnotrons second. There is absolutely no way he can exit this stage the intended way with a Mancubus living unless it re-spawned. All that is left is for BigMostachio to say that this is still UV and he used both the -fast and -respawn command and hid it from us. This run has been verified years ago BTW.

In all seriousness, it's a strategy - you let the cyberdemon and barons fight each other (barons usually win).

I mean look at doom3, little did they know that we would have geforce 200 serie cards and quad cores to easily handle the game, it could easily manifest 200 more demons in the game and bigger maps... oh well...

This speed run is simply incredible! The whole game on Nightmare without dying once-I could only get to the second level on NM. Drew "stx-vile" Devore is a Doom god!
