I guess when your title is "sifu" you can interpret a form as you want, but one of the hallmarks of BSL is the slap kick where both knees rise up in succession catching air, then slap kick, then land lightly on both feet simultaneously. This teacher is doing a drop kick. And where is the dragon tail kick? It seems like he's not really trying. Age? My teacher is in his 50's, I think, and he totally catches major air time. As I said in the previous post, he's hung gar, so maybe that's his passion.
hes doing it extactly the same as in my school with shifu wong jia man in SF and pretty known in TCMA circles for his BSL, its annoying irritating when someone critizes someones kung fu as wrong or bad kuz "there" shifu does it differently....using that logic we could say your shifu taught wrong ect ect and it could go on for forever....and catching major air time isnt what your surpose to do in BSL....this aint wushu...its a martial arts..
Considering that he is a Hung Gar teacher, his stances are really shallow. Doesn't seem crisp and strong from viewing the video. Where are the two head rams preceding the double C-punch and the spear two-hand strike (hands clasped in prayer form)?
everyone does there form differently, doesnt make it right or wrong. What if wing lam or someone else came to your school and started pointing out moves in your form and saying this is wrong and that wrong, just bekuz its not how he does it. Would it mean your teacher is wrong or he is right? he studied with yen shang mo who studied with the founder Gu Ru Zhang in terms of rank hes one of the top two in BSL. I doubt hes doing anything wrong, u should question ur teacher instead
