  • Just got home from a John Oates concert in Orlando fl. It was incredible and I love the fact that as a 17 year old i was BY FAR the youngest one there. I was born 20 years too late....

  • @rmz250muhctek I've always felt that I was born about 30 years late. I feel that I connect with that music so much better.

  • although Hall & Oates are awesome...they never won any grammies and She's Gone was not a #1 hit for them...it was a top 40...another band, Tavares, redid the song and their version was #1 on the R&B charts, but 50 on Billboard's main chart (Hot 100)...

  • wow still got it going on!

  • John, with Phoebe Snow on bg vocals...awesome! (:

  • Great voz oates ^w^

  • I've seen Darryl Hall perform as a solo act and was very impressed. I now know that John Oates has got some skills his OWN self. Dan good job Johnny!...

  • may i put that it was top quality upto the crescendo part and the female singer ruined it! :(

  • I love this song by hall n oates AND by Tavares, but this is an awful attempt at it, ruined by the screaming vocals of the female singer and I adore this song!!! :(

  • 3:36 so awesome he looks back at the piano player and is like, " oh hell yeah keep goin! one more! oh he did it this is awesome!" haha awesome song.

  • I know it was a video but I had to clap at the end. Awesome!

  • shame about the out of time clappping...

  • HELL YEAH!!!

  • Psssst.......... One more, one more. yessss!

  • i'd agree bear bones voice guitar!! puka!

not many band can sing well live, hall&oates were the best live act in the 1970s every one wanted them for backing vocals, todd rundgren another star who coul'd doit! :) ok well thats of my chest

  • Not taking anything away from Daryl Hall but this song, * She's Gone * with just John Oates has got to be my favorite version. Stripped and left with just his voice and Guitar. John's raw and soulful version is incredible!!!

  • So glad I found this, but whoever filmed it is clearly not a guitar player. He has such beautiful chord phrasing and I'm not a good enough player to hear the chords and play them... need to SEE them. Camera keeps aiming too high to get most of them (or cutting away). Anyway, love Daryl but have always felt that John was just as good or better. Glad to have found this.

  • Nice performance. The songs that spring from actual events are often great ones.

  • Wow this is great, I'm glad i found this. I didn't know that Hall and Oats weren't together anymore.

  • @fallingwatter I don't think H and O have broken up their act it is just that they can do stuff seperate, nothing wrong with that.

  • fantastic

  • LOVELY

  • I have been a huge fan of Hall and Oates for many, many years. There is no question that John has been overshadowed for many years by Daryl and his side of the bargain. I have always held a special place in my heart for John and the songs he brought to the table over their illustrious carreer. I am very happy to see that the Americana Music Fest held in September in Nashville will be including John Oates on their bill. I plan to corner him and tell him how much he is appreciated by me.

  • I LIKE THIS SONG

  • Good for him! He always seems overshadowed by Daryl Hall, but he's got some personality and I love his acoustic version.

  • @nhpm900 ..if you look at the video of "She's Gone" (real funny), or the old live version from 1976, both Hall & Oates had a good shared of the song, but it seemed after that song, Daryl did all the leading and John just background. But they've been together 40 years, so if it dosen't bother them, don't bother me. But it's nice to see John do his own stuff by himself.

  • i like this song & a group coverd i forgot their name but they did i better

  • Wow! Excellent and fun, both!

  • he looks portBeanCan't

  • Good stuff, interesting to see him singing this without Hall.

  • Look at Oats. The Barney to Hall's Andy

  • wow...John by himself...nice!!! his vibrato is so heavy...but I like hearing him without Daryl...although its clear Daryl is more talented vocally...

  • I like seeing more of John Oates..Darryl seems to hog the spot light even when they play live in concert.

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

  • God bless the songwriter & their fruitful offerings!

  • Rock on John Oates...What a great voice, and you brought it on with this great song...love you, Patti

  • Wow, incredible. I always loved that song and never knew it was Hall & Oates until i saw The Anchorman ! Then I also discovered the drumming was by one of my all time favorites: Bernard Purdie. Great song.

  • Great stuff - and the original long version still gives me chills

  • Hi!

What a great artist! That song is timeless as indicated by the smiles on all these professional songwriters' faces! What an incredible validation for John Oates!!!! Love it!

The man, his guitar, his voice....pure simple...wonderful combination!

Type to you later! God Bless!
