@Mathis27Fan The thing assimilates people by infecting each one of their cells. It wouldn't be efficient to simply start at one limb and slowly work out, so it likely uses those tentacles to impale a victim all over and start infecting tissue everywhere the tentacles are. Dozens of points in the body to start at once. And yes. When a Thing infects a person, you now have two Things - the original, and the copied human or animal.

@LilTRoberts1000 he did the right thing. if it had gotten out the whole world would of been in trouble. what he did was isolate the situation from escalating worldwide. it would suck balls if you were one of the surviors though that is for sure.

The way he delivers that line "I know Bennings, Ive known his for ten years! hes my friend..." was really well done, very poignant. Its when the crew realizes that this shit is for real.

Love this film but the one thing that made it slightly improbable was if you look at the unfinshed imitation of Bennings how did it get dressed with those very large cumbersome er hands,clean up all the blood ,shredded clothes etc and manage to get out through that window in such a short space of time? It clearly needs more time to complete the process and methinks a little more thought and detail was needed in this scene . Not being picky just an observation on an excellent film.
@allseeingi It could have slid into the clothes as a bloody mangled mess but "absorbed" all of the living blood that would have stained the clothing and jumped out the window while finishing the job.
