Technically yes... It can create a static shock or whatever. But it's like saying you can get serious complications from regular flu, I mean, sure, you can, but what are the chances of that happening?
So there's no way to remove the cover around the fan? I understand it's important to clean out the vents and such but wouldn't that just trap the dust underneath the cover then?

well damn, I didnt know my heating issues revolved around dust bunnies in my fan blades. it worked.. I own HP DV and its got the same cooling system as shown on the video. thanks!
can someone tell me what i need to do.. basically i had my speakers plugged into my laptop until i dropped it and the metal bit snapped.. so the half of it is stuck inside the jack.. if u knw what i mean lol, dnt knw else to explain it

lol are you kidding me? blowing the dust further into your laptop is NOT something I would recommend doing. Dust have a habit of finding it's dusty friends and come together for a big dust party, and this is just one big heat collector. You want to learn how to open up your laptop, and clean the fans individually, removing the dust entirely from the inside of the laptop!
Well I guess then you can hold your Justin Bieber pillow close and tell him how you defended his honor on YouTube, told me off letting me know in no uncertain terms that I'm not funny and that everything is going to be OK now and you're still his #1 fan.

@True2TheBlueYoViGang wow mr.techgeek...man your lame by starting on saying oh windows this and that...oh linux oh msconfig...all you need to fix the job is getting a hammer and smake-it till it's clean...
One good thing know to know when you are cleaning your laptop fan with compressed air. somehow keep the fan stady. dont let it spin freely as with compressed air, the air can force the fan to fast causing the fan to be damaged. If there is a guard where the fan is, place something like a paperclip between the guard and fan blades to do so.
Okay, I don't have much experience in this process, nor do I got pancake mix, but it would seem to me that without taking the laptop apart blowing the air IN to the vents from outside means that one just pushes the dust in even further.
I'd like a reply on whether or not the above stated is correct. Thank you. :)
Hey, I just opened my laptop for the first time to clean the fan and heat sink, and I see a peace of tape across from the fan and the wires. Will that be an issue? o.0
hello, may you plz tell me what do i need to fix my fan,it's working but the processor is geting hot to fast and it's even hard for it to start the windows ,is there any leqwed that i need to pot in the heatsink?
Hi there. Is it true that I have to replace my entire motherboard for my vaio sony laptop if my cooling fan is making noise? I was told by someone at a private small computer shop that I would have to replace the entire motherboard or either by a fan and solder it back. Not sure if he's telling me the truth or not.
My hp dv 6000 won't power up, when I conect the ac adopter it shows the blue light but it won't power up. When I use another battery that it's charged up it comes on just fine but it won't recharge the battery. Can you please help me. Thank you
My laptop has black foam stuck inside the vent and nothing is small enough to reach in and pull it out it seems to be stuck pretty good and my laptop keeps shutting off and getting really hot.
Instead of doing this crap, unscrew the big 'hatch' on the bottom of your laptop, unscrew the fan, and blow the radiator clean. And with blow i mean Blow, with a directional stream of air right trough the radiator from outside to inside. Doing this once every two years or something is way enough.
What the guy in the video is doing is called stroking your laptop.
think it's full of dust in there, but curiously enough it doesn't heat...it gets a little warmer if I let it on for several hours but it never turns off because of too much heat...but I just can't leave w/ that horrific sound anymore!!!!
ty, my comp ever heats now a days every 20 minutes or so if im using a big program like a video game or running my Ubuntu drive. I've been thinking about actually opening up my laptop and putting in tubing to run cold water through to help cool it down along with the fan, good idea or bad idea?
My laptop gets overheat for no reason, i already bought a cooling pad but still sometime is burning the only thing that you can't see is the fire, and can you tell me please where can i buy that air can?

you should make a video like how to get better air flow without a laptop cooler or using something to blow it out because i try all that and it still hot.

My fan has stopped working in the back of my laptop.
I over used it and it shut down from overheating,
I turned it back on instantly and i think i blown a fuse.
Can this be fixed manually, or will I have to take it in to a proffessional?
