I think Illdocs was not making a point about gay men being feminine or masculine. He was simply pointing out how illogical Johnson's "Christopher Street boys" reference was, because of the very reason that Christopher Street is even known to begin with.
I'm totally with you, but I think in this case it was tough to get a thorough response into a 2 minute video.
On the other hand, was Ildoc1 saying that gay boys weren't "effeminate," or that gay boys aren't "weak?"
I think it's pretty much established that some of the rioters in Stonewall were "effeminate." A lot of them were gender-benders and drag queens. So I think Ildoc1's point is that you can be a drag queen and still fight off cops, which is still accepting towards differences.
I don't think weak equals feminine. Feminine can embody strength. I think Jay is dead on.
