For the average person the word REPENT has a negative vibe attached to it, the way its used in TV and in the movies ... its "way too over the top or serious" For the average person going to church trying to improve their life its like the media has taken that word from their repertoire against the devil in them ... the word translated means to "change your mind" THAT'S IT! its not "way too anything" so when you have urges of the flesh (anything?) just repent and do what spirit wants instead
In real life we need the computer for work, turning point in movie very realistic the struggles he had with sex on the internet is it realistic to crash computers?
another option save computer picture christ on the cross, think of all he stood for, his life, it meant so much to him that he took all that hate and loved us in a way which we can't even comprehend
or fall for the lies of satan and the dirty wrotten porn pigs taking you further from God ruining your life ???
I'm 14 years old. My life hasn't been perfect, but what is perfect is God. He never leaves me, never ignores me, and is ALWAYS there. I know that there are thing going on in the world that are horrific- to individuals or even villages of people, but the people who trust and believe in God, even when it gets hard, are the ones who will be saved. And I want to be one of those people who gets to be with God forever- don't you?!
allot of this going around with people that look exactly the same to very close to the same, ever since the writings. so tell me, enough is enough already and someone speak to me, from the D to all of them that look exactly like us.
and where is she and who is she? because ther are other videos that have someone that look like me in them. just like the space shuttle video with my husband. so, yeah, tell me about it.
manderson416, you aren't betraying anything or anyone. All denoms will be wrong about something standing before God. Just be thankful we're all in the same family. Let the finger-pointers and those who tear down do their dirty work without influencing you!
(cont'd) As Like 17:3 says "Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, REBUKE him, and if he repents, forgive him". If that is so, SOME type of judgment must occur for the rebuking to happen. The same thing happens if a mother makes a judgment upon their child to issue punishment if they catch them doing drugs or being active in underage drinking. Judgment is never always so negative...sometimes it can return people back to the path they need to be on.
Er...okay there are already many people who made comments to the whole condemning thing. There's a difference between trying to help someone be closer to God or try to help them better their life or even save their life. "Why do you see the splinter in your brother's eye and not see the tree in yours", well what if you DON'T have the tree in yours? What if a brother of yours has a problem drinking and you don't, is it not your wish to help them and by doing so, pointing out their flaw first?
why aren't there more catholic artists...it feels like i'm half betraying my faith whenever i listen to chris tomlin and other "contemporary christian" artists. someone should go write more songs NAOOO
@manderson416 what do you not agree the His grace is enough? is that against the catholic religion? This song comes straight from the bible, so do you no believe in the bible?
We sang this song in church this morning; I had never heard the song. I felt the power of the words deep in my heart and soul, and my eye’s watered with joy and happiness. Why? Because I love my God, and Lord Jesus, and I sing to the holy Father because it gives me total peace, and I know I am truly loved by he, and his son Jesus Christ. That is all one needs.
For anyone who is looking for a biblical explanation of the gospel and salvation, I would highly recommend checking out the scribd website that is listed on my channel. The scripture references given on there make it very clear and easy to understand.
come one people. lets not argue and get all philosophical on youtube. you can do that else where. anyways Love this version of the song. anyone figure out how he does the drums/accapella part or if it is even drums? i want to get my drummer to figure it out.
Who are we to call someone a hypocrite? Just because you think one person is a hypocrite doesn't mean everyone else is that way. I like what theaxedr88 said below. "Why do you see the splinter in your brother's eye and not see the tree in yours?" Why are we so busy pointing out other people's flaws and not taking a good look at our own? God loves us no matter what our flaws are and he knows we aren't perfect. I'm not perfect and I sure don't expect anyone else to be.
matt is amazing along with a new worship band called Red Letter Hymnal. Red Letter Hymnal’s got some incredibly catchy songs on youtube, and itunes too
John 6 Commentary from the Holman Apologetic Bible: Based on these verses, critics of the early church thought Christians condoned a form of cannibalism. This is not the case. The reference here is twofold, both foreshadowing the Lord’s and emphasizing complete submission to Jesus as Lord.
To many insiders, it has seemed as if the Lord’s Supper was a requirement for salvation. But verse 63 makes plain that only the Spirit gives life; Jesus’ flesh does not do so. These are simply striking metaphors for Identifying with Christ in his atoning death for the sins of humanity.
Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy way will be guilty of sin against the body and blood of the Lord.So a man should examine himself;in this way he should eat of the bread and drink of the cup.For whoever eats and drinks without recognizing the body, eats and drinks judgment on himself. This is why many are sick and ill among you,and many have fallen asleep.
If we were properly evaluating ourselves,we would not be judged, but when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord,so that we may not be condemned with the world.
@xxzzxx99@MenechemShaul@fromdeath2life Nobody can condemn anyone other than CHRIST. Dogmas and Doctrine come from apostolic tradition. "HOLD FAST TO THESE TRADITIONS MY BROTHERS" Paul said that. And another reason the Church is TRUE. The Eucharist(thanksgiving) which has the true presence of Jesus Christ. Not a symbol. John 6, Jesus is super clear. He's super repetative "TRULY TRULY I TELL YOU... MY BODY IS REAL FOOD AND MY BLOOD IS REAL DRINK"
@theaxedr88 Psalm 92 'A stupid person does not know,
a fool does not understand this: though the wicked sprout like grass and all evildoers flourish, they will be eternally destroyed.' (HCSB) All the word Eucharist means is Thanksgiving. Nowhere is Cannibalism taught!
@xxzzxx99@MenechemShaul@fromdeath2life Truth is, nobody can condemn anyone else. Protestants can be saved too, just like many catholics. Simply because there is massconfusion. God is merciful. but in the beginning of the reformation, it's questionable because they were rejecting doctrine. Doctrine is different, the mistakes committed were NOT DOCTRINE. remember what Jesus said "whoever rejects you rejects me" A change was needed WITHIN the church, which Francis of Asis did. He didn't leave
@xxzzxx99@MenechemShaul@fromdeath2life As far as that Scripture from timothy used, well it also says the word "works" when many beleive that it's faith alone, or saved by grace "ONLY" but works also save. Not works alone, but good works+faith+obedience+grace=sanctification. or as the Beatitudes of the Catholic Church say "fath hope and charity" driving forces that produce Gods Grace.
@theaxedr88 Faith without works is dead, this does not mean that I need Sacraments for salvation! There is a difference. The works that are referred by James, HALF BROTHER OF JESUS, the Apostle is found in James 2:14-26 and they include giving someone a coat or food or other charitable works, not 'Sacramental' 'grace' or 'works'. When it comes to Scripture there are three words that must be applied CONTEXT, CONTEXT, CONTEXT! Stop twisting God's word!
@MenechemShaul it is not canibalism. yes context context context. Why did so many of his followers leave in John 6? because they felt the same way you did. "this teaching is too difficult. who can hear this?" His apostles stayed. Everyone took him litterally. Jesus never said, do this symbolically. He let the others leave. then He asked His apostles, "will you also leave me" and peter spoke out "to whom will we go..."
@theaxedr88 To quote you 'it is not canibalism' (your spelling error not mine) He never said do this in actuality of me either. Paul makes a strong statement for Consubstantiation when he says 'For whoever eats and drinks without recognizing the body, eats and drinks judgment on himself.' (1 Corinthians 11:29 HCSB). the full context teaches that one who eats the BREAD and drinks THE CUP of the LORD in a disgusting manner, brings guilt and sin on the Body and Blood of the LORD.
@MenechemShaul I'm not twisting Gods word. Jesus was very very specific. He was litteral in that teaching. by the divine power of Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, at the Last Supper, He changed bread into His body and wine into His blood. Supernaturally. It still looked like bread and still looked like wine but spiritually and supernaturally it was what He said it was. And today, the miracle continues. "DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME"
@theaxedr88 Hebrews 9-10 comes to mind! He was offered once and for all. when your cult 'Represents' and claim that you need frequent reception of Communion for salvation this goes against what Paul teaches (I am one of those who believes that Paul wrote Hebrews because of how rabbinic it reads). Furthermore Christ never taught cannibalism he said that it was a symbolism of remembrance to him when he says Do in Memory. Transubstantiation was not church doctrine until Innocent III!
@theaxedr88 You are twisting the Word of God and your church is notorious in doing this! Your church teaches that The Word of God is thew Word of God in the words of humans. In other words you are not to take the Word of God literally (Which is what is taught in seminaries and Catholic Schools), and yet you always seem to take this part literally! You Catholics are hypocrites!
@MenechemShaul ouch, I thought this debate was to be somewhat different than the rest. I guess I was wrong. I was joyful in the way you had phrased your message. But you are quite judgmental. How am I a hypocrite? I never once said i was perfect. I'm speaking of teachings. Not of myself. I'm nowhere near perfect. But I try to be as much like Jesus as I can. "I can do all things in Him who strengthens me" I'm a pharisee?
@MenechemShaul "why do you see the splinter in your brothers eye and not see the tree in yours?" "Judge not" "He that judges shall be judged in the same way by the Father" take it easy man. Context is important. many things are not to be taken litterally, but when you read John 6, there is no clearer way of looking at it. there was no metaphor, there was no simily, nothing. Jesus allowed the others to leave. He would've called back to them to explain the teaching, but he didn't. Why? Explain
@theaxedr88 What about Jn 6:31-33? It is a comparison of the Manna of the O.T. and Jesus in the N.T. The Manna was God's provision for Israel in the wilderness and it stopped once they took the land. Jesus death is God's provision for man's sin. Once for all. When a person believes in Christ alone for salvation they are declared righteous by God. Jesus is explaining the comparison through the rest of the chapter. look at Jn 6:63 "flesh profits nothing... my words are spirit" ...believe
@MenechemShaul Catholics do not twist the Most Sacred Word of God in any way. Protestants after all are the ones who have taken out books from the Holy Bible and translated them to fit their teachings (such as divorce, assured salvation, etc.). Please look at the videos on my channel to see which Church is correct.
@MenechemShaul Popes are NOT infallable. but the TEACHINGS are. so when a pope speaks regarding teachings, He is infallable. but he is still human and imperfect just like you and I. well probably not, I'm far from perfect. I'm pretty sure he's a bit closer than me. probably a lot closer to it than me.
@MenechemShaul Don't be judgmental. Instead, lead other to Christ, which is, bringing others closer to Christ, in love and humility. The Bible is not a book of do's and don'ts. It is a love book. Don't judge people and condemn them because you believe something different. Romans 14:22 states "The faith that you have, keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who has no reason to pass judgment on himself for what he approves."
@MenechemShaul also Romans 14:13 states "Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother." Romans 14:15 states "For if your brother is grieved by what you eat, you are no longer walking in love. By what you eat, do not destroy the one for whom Christ died." Lead people to Christ by love. Don't go around pointing out what people are doing wrong, but encourage them to do the right thing in Christ.
@xxzzxx99@MenechemShaul @fromdeath2life The Holy Bible, or the New Testament Canon was put together by the Coucil of Trent. A council of the Catholic Church. LED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT. "I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS"
The Scripture quoted about the Bible being all that is needed, DOES NOT say that's all you need but that it's good for that. Rastas use the bible, they beleive that Jesus was reincarnated, Jeohovas Witnesses also use it. They don't beleive in the divinity of Jesus Christ
@theaxedr88 Again weak argument for ones who have distorted the word of God!At one time the Catholic Church was lead by God's Spirit that time has long since passed! When evils have been done by your cult, do not tell me that you are in the truth! All evils were done with blessings of the so called 'infallible' popes! Do yourself a favour and 'Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.' (2 Tim 2:15 KJV)
@xxzzxx99@MenechemShaul@fromdeath2life God Bless You All. The Catholic Church is the Church instituted upon Peter (the rock) by Jesus Christ. As far as all the mistakes mady, well, there was a Judas among the 12, and nobody left Jesus because of Judas. The Church did more than what is brought up. Hospital systems, University systems, Music Theory. etc. It has fought Socialism and Communism many times. Check out history. "The gates of hell shall not prevail over the church"
Nothing wrong with the Reformation. I agree that faith without works doesn't really mean anything- heck, the Devil knew God was God! I just think Martin Luther wanted everyone to make sure that they knew that faith is the CAUSE and the works are the EFFECT. We don't earn God's grace. We can just refuse to follow the commands if we don't want to. Got a ton of friends in the Catholic Church today, and they're awesome. Believing that Jesus is the way, truth and life is all that matters in the end.
Ohgod95 is liek so many others who have actually taken the time to examine and study the teachings of the early fathers. The Catholic church, albeit not perfect, is the closest thing we have to what Jesus trusted Peter and the desciples to follow. We are not saved by grace alone. Deeds are part of it too (James 2:14-26). If not for the Catholic faith there would be no bible. The church has obviously made mistakes(unfortunately we are people too) but it is still closest to the real truth! peace!
I find the people who call Catholicism(Both Roman and Eastern rites) to be a cult to be a bit childish since the Catholic Church was the first church, an official religion. Those who claim the Catholic Church to be a cult seem to have somekind of cult-like worsip style themselves.
@MenechemShaul You do realize my friend that you have a very precarious position here, what do you mean by the Scripture teaches? I believe it must mean that I'm deceived because I'm not gel with "your" interpretation of what the Scripture really teaches. Base on what standard, or merit, or authority do you have to make me believe in your interetation then? Do you have historical evidences? Is your interpretation of the Scripture sound? Does it go well with what the Early Christians believed?
@MenechemShaul If you have no evidence, no proofs to prove to me otherwise, I'm afraid you too have no authority whatsoever to call me deceived, or anyone to be deceived. That's a problem with Protestantism, I once too was a Sola Scripture anti-Catholic Creationist, but none other than the Catholic Church have showed to me the balance between reason and faith. One of my greatest teacher used to say: "Truly, only the Catholic Church is the most reasonable among all other Christian denominations.
@Ohgod95 I have provided you with Proof, Its called Scripture as well as History what you do with it is on you,not me and you trying to shift it on me will not work!I refer you to 2Timothy3:10-17(especially 16-17 which I will quote in a minute)"All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness,so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."[HCSB]In other words I challenge doctrine in light of Scripture.
@MenechemShaul Now, on regard of the passage which Fundamentalists like so much(2 Timothy 3:10-17), I challenge you to look at the passage again my friend, the passage itself only says the Scripture is PROFITABLE(useful) for teaching and for doctrines, but by no way the passage says the Scripture is "enough", thus turn it against the teaching of Sola Scriptura. Remember that Paul's oral teachings were also regarded as highly as the Scripture, and was called the "other Scripture"
@MenechemShaul Now you must have realized that what you've showed me that is called "proof" is basically not the Scripture, but your interpretation of the Scripture, given that situation, what could justifies your interpretation of the Scripture? What makes your interpretation right among thousands of other Protestant denominations? One Bible, One Holy Spirit, but different conclusions? Surely the Holy Spirit can't be the God of confusion, then how can all claim to be inspired by the Spirit?
@Ohgod95 We often accuse others of the very thing we are guilty of. (and we do it unaware). Its one reason Jesus said to take the plank out of your own eye before lecturing your brother about the speck in his. (i'm not lecturing you, I'm agreeing with you on those who call the catholic church a cult.)
I found myself reading this childish arguement and forgot the song ( the whole point of this page ) was even playing! All this back and forth arguement is causing people to miss out on this awesome message. God bless.
Too bad this song is in reference of Sacramental Grace and not true Grace! This is only one form of Grace recorded in God's word, not seven! I am glad Our Lifeteen priest was born again and taught by the doctrine of Sola Scriptua, in other words if it is not Biblically accepted it is not true Doctrine (CF 2 Timothy 3:16-17). He was against Cannibalism (Transubstantiation) and in favour of Consubstantiation, against Mary and 'saint' Worship , he was pretty much a Baptist taking the truth to Rome.
@MenechemShaul We don't worship Mary or the Saints. We simply ask them to pray ("intercede") for us just as you would ask a friend to pray for you or someone else in need. It is definitely a common misconception of the Catholic Church. We believe in ONE God, the God, & He alone receives our WORSHIP. Just to clarify.
@39cjohnson If He alone receives your worship than explain Eucharistic Adoration, the Rosary, Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the false doctrine of the Queen of heaven [Refer to Jeremiah 44] , 'Honour' (which is actually worship as you pray to them and consult them who are dead which goes against Scripture [Isaiah 8]) of the saints (According to Sacred Scripture we are all Saints [People of God]).
@MenechemShaul Well, I guess Jesus Himself was a wiccan then since He consulted the dead during the transfiguration.
On the sidenote, prayers to the dead had been practiced by the earliest Christians, according to the writings of the early saints, the ones who compiled our Bible, yes. Also according to resources from anthropology, history, religious studies, we also know that there are evidences that early Christians and Jews prayed to the dead.(surprisingly)
@MenechemShaul And Sola Scriptura isn't even scriptural..Scripture tells us that Christ left a Church w/ divine authority to govern in His name (Mt 16:13-20, 18:18; Lk 10:16). Christ promised that this Church would last until the end of time (Mt 16:18, 28: 19-20; Jn 14:16). The Bible aslo tells us that Sacred Tradition is to be followed alongside Sacred Scripture (2 Thess 2:15, 3: 6).
@39cjohnson Why are you consulting the dead about the living. You need to ask the Living Saints to Pray and intercede for you! You are right about the Universal Church as there have been remnants of it in existence even though the Roman cult tried to snuff it out! The Italians who were burned in Oil (by Official Vatican decree) for having Copies of the Word of God and only wanting to follow it is a prime example! BTW, You are twisting Scripture! You also forgot 2 Timothy 3:10-17
@MenechemShaul Furthermore you also need to realize that the final out come of the Roman Catholic Cult (I include all thirty some rites) is not a pretty one! Restudy Revelation 17-19! There are Members of the true Catholic (universal) Church within Rome that are saved but not all Roman Catholics are saved!
@MenechemShaul Regard the Bible that Jesus said that He laid the foundation of authority on Peter, the first pope and no gate of hell shall prevails it, it seem to me God is a bit wimpy when He let His church somehow fall into apostacy and heresy for 1500 years before the "hero" Martin Luther appears. When a Protestant(like me) took a closer look at the Catholic Church without prejudice, he'll see that only the Catholic Church is supported both Biblically, reasonably, and historically.
@MenechemShaul First of all, we Catholics and Orthodox do that because it's Biblical(read Maccabees, the transfiguration of Jesus...), from the writings of the early saints, from the anthropological and historical evidences which I could quote at anytime. Therefore the practice of praying for intercession is Biblical and historically correct. I guess the Roman cult has the edge on history, but at least I have evidence, can you show me evidences from the oil burning incident by Vatican?
@MenechemShaul 2 Timothy said the Scripture was "Profitable" or "useful", yet nowhere in the Bible stated that the Scripture is alone. Given that the doctrine of Sola Scriptura is true, then one must ask himself how did the early Church maintain themselves without the Bible? Again Sola Scriptura also require Christians to read for themselves and interpret it personally, how would this even happen if they didn't have printing press? Scollastic materials? Or even a Bible to begin with?
@MenechemShaul It is laughable that Fundamentalist will try their best to take the passage from Genesis 1 as literal but refuse to take the passage about the Eucharist to be literal. If your lifeteen priest said to partake in the Eucharist is to become a canibalist, then sadly he's being one of the Jews who was bewildered when Jesus said eat my flesh and drink my blood, for the Greek word for this context means actually gnawing and drinking the blood. T
@MenechemShaul One of the major problems which Protestants can't never answer, base on what authority are you calling something Biblical or not? A Lutheran will come to a different conclusion to the Baptist, Baptist different than Methodist. It must be agreed that without proper authority, no one can know what is truth, just like 2 Atheists argue about absolute truth, which can never be determined without an absolute authority. Protestantism is a heresy, full with inconsistencies.
@MenechemShaul A catholic priest teaching sola scriptura? You should have ran for the hills. Why be influenced by a heretic? This priest has blinded you to the truth. was it his influence that caused you to leave the seminary?
@xxzzxx99 I had already rejected the Catholic cult at age twelve after Reading Scripture from cover to cover. I was in seminary classes as a teen with no intention to pursue the false priesthood. The reason the Bishop took special interest in me because of my devotion to Scripture and because I was studying more so Adult Catholic books than the usual curriculum for kids in grade 6. The Apostles all taught Sola Scriptura for example look at 2Tim3:10-17.The cult you claim to be valid are heretics.
@MenechemShaul Of course you rejected catholicism. They kicked your family out of Spain. Thats why you rejected the catholic church (and the truth). The Apostles taught sola scriptura? Thats just not true. Do you have a source? A credible one? Because the only accounts of those times are the ones passed down through the catholic church. Think about it. The only christian church that existed when the apostles did and still does is the catholic church. Name me one other?
@xxzzxx99 You have yet to show me what truth. I love how when challenged and you cannot come up with a solid argument you just start to insult a person instead of questioning Church doctrine and working to 'Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who doesn't need to be ashamed, correctly teaching the word of truth.' (2 Timothy 2:15 Holman Christian Standard Bible). I have a credible source and I have used it with you in previous arguments for Sola Scriptura, 2 Timothy 3:10-16.
@xxzzxx99 If your church was so Sacred then explain the Crusades, the Inquisition and the boiling of Christians in Oil for wanting to follow Scripture instead of fallible man! If your cult was the true Church of Christ it would be acting as such! You cult has done so many evils in the Name of Christ, our King, that you are not the true church! You came after the death of the original apostles! You need to study history and Scripture as you are ignorant to fact.
@MenechemShaul which proetestant church is the true church? which of the 22,000 protestant denominations has the correct interpretation of scripture? which set of sola sciptura doctrines is the correct one? Because every one of them differs. why do no 2 bible believing denominations believe the same thing? If sola scriptura were a legitimate doctrine, then every denomination would have the same doctrines.
@xxzzxx99 What horrible arguments!Need I remind you that your cult is itself a Protestant Church?Remember the Schismof1057?You're protesting the Orthodox Church and its protesting you you both are protesting Biblical Christianity. My hate of the Catholic cult has nothing to do with my roots as I hated its doctrine long before I found out I was Jewish. You whole argument against Sola Scriptura can be said about the various religious orders of you cult, why do the oblates differ from the Franciscans?
@MenechemShaul Bad argument. The oblates and Franciscans are obedient to the the same catholic doctrines. (i expect you to know that much). Your problem is that you are hateful, and that is not christian, is it?
@xxzzxx99 They still differ when it comes to certain things. For example the Oblates a cloistered for the most part, Franciscans are out in the community. The Benedictines are much like the Oblates more so than the Franciscans. I knew what I was saying and I stand by what I said. BTW, There are saved Catholics in the World.
@xxzzxx99 Denominations are not the true church; the body of Christ is the Church and to be part of the body you are to believe the gospel; Eph 2:8,9.
@MenechemShaul Why did the church do these things? the same reason Peter chopped a guys ear off. Humans make mistakes. We are all sinners: catholics, Jews, protestants, muslims. I'm not even gonna debate your ludicrous statement about the apostles. You need to stop reading false accounts of history, and find the truth. The apostles were part of the catholic church as were all the desert fathers, Augustine etc. You ever read Augustine?
@xxzzxx99 Why can you not use proper English, what does gonna mean? You need to refresh yourself of the words of Paul in Romans 9-10 and when it comes to Sola Scriptura 2 Timothy 3:10-17! 'All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.' (2 Timothy 3:16-17 Holman Christian Standard Bible).
@xxzzxx99 This was not my issue my issue is with you, being in your thirties (although you act like a three year old), should know how to use proper English. How can you claim that Peter was the first Pope when the term never existed in his day nor was he ever Bishop of Rome? The only time he made it into Rome was when he was put to death.
@xxzzxx99 My birth family were victims of Rome's Covert or die tactics during the Inquisition and eventually was kicked out of Spain and relocated to Holland where we changed our last name from Belmonte to Schonberger. A good start for you would be this book Jewish Believers in Jesus: The Early Centuries by Reidar Hvalvik and Oskar Skarsaune. You need to study instead of just claiming that we are heretics. Prove to me that I am a heretic!
@MenechemShaul Sorry to hear about your family. The king of Spain got it wrong. The church has had a long history, and a lot of power. Anyone in power has many temptations.. Unfortunately some of those in power have abused that power. (we are all sinners, are we not). Choose any country with a long history, and then annalyse its leaders. See how many of them were corrupted.
@xxzzxx99 Now You're changing your story!First you defend the Inquisition because the Jews refused the'truth'and thats why they were kicked us out.I quote you verbatim"Of course you rejected catholicism. They kicked your family out of Spain.Thats why you rejected the catholic church(and the truth).'You have proven yourself to be unstudied and when truly challenged this is why you are quick to change your story.I refuse to go on with someone like you is is living in a state of blissful ignorants!
@MenechemShaul You misunterpreted what i said. I said that YOU rejected the catholic church and the truth. What i meantt by the truth is that the catholic church is the truth: the true church. And you rejected that truth, when you rejected the catholic church. Thats all i meant. I never meant the inquisition was the truth, or just . (it was a definitely mistake!! )
@xxzzxx99 I missed interpreted nothing! You either did not say what you meant or you are trying to change you story yet again! BTW, We are not condemning, not once have we condemned, we are simply pointing out the fallacies of your cult and its false doctrine!
"Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.' " John 14:6
Stop bickering over what denomination or doctrine is or isn't 100% Christian. There are so many many lost people out there, & you only confuse the point with your time-wasting fighting! The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the answer. He died for ALL of us because God loves ALL of us. Period. Quit wasting time, please! Go teach that simple truth & live like Christ. It's that simple.
holy cow... i'm totally gonna wave to the catholics and the church of christ folk who are all in their corners thinking they're the only ones up there. I've met Matt Maher, and listened to him speak, and I'll tell you flat out- he isn't preaching condemnation on other doctrines because he's Catholic. Last time I checked, God's word says that man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart.
Lamentations 3:22-23 22 Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
@logman92 :) I'm a Catholic and I have many questions about my faith, too. In fact, I had your question about confession. I find that the best tool when I am confused is the Catholic Apologetics..I'll answer your question and I hope it makes sense to you as it did for me..this is taken directly from it:
The first part that is important to understand is John 20:19-23 I highly recommend you read the entire verse, but here is part of it: "Jesus said to them again, 'Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.' And when he had said this, he breathed on them, & said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.'" Jn 20: 21-23.
Respond to this video... @logman92 :) This is vital because he is giving his Apostles the ability to loose the sins of others. The bishops and popes of today are descended from these very Apostles, and they pass on that authority to priests. Another powerful point to consider here is that Christ BREATHED on the Apostles when he conferred the power to forgive sins.
Respond to this video... @logman92 :) The only other time that God breathed on anyone was when He breathed life into the first human being (Gn 2:7). That is an extraordinary symbol. And Catholics always confess their sins to God. We do it directly as well as through His ministers because that is what God requires scripturally.
Another Biblical passage is St. Paul explaining how the Apostles are ambassadors of Christ's work of reconciliation (forgiving sins). The verse is 2 Cor 5: 17-20.
Respond to this video... @logman92 "Therefore, if any one is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself & gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, & entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
Respond to this video... @logman92 :) So we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We beseech you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God."
Catholics believe that the priest is used by God as His instrument for the forgiveness of sins in three sacraments: Confession, Anointing, & Baptism. The disagreement here isn't in principle.
Respond to this video... @logman92 :) It's true that most Fundamentalists don't believe that sins are wiped away through Baptism. However, we can point out that they all believe that God can use their ministers as instruments in His physical healing. Why wouldn't God do the same with spiritual healing, which is more important?
Finally, return to John 20:21: "As the Father has sent me, even so I send you."
Respond to this video... @logman92 :) The Apostles are to continue the mission of Christ. The essence of that mission is the forgiveness of sins. Jesus knows our human nature. He provided sacramental confession to give us several important gifts: humility, the certainty of forgiveness, spiritual direction, & help to overcome self-deception & rationalization in matters of sin.
It is true that God can forgive sin without his instruments, but in order know that one is in the state of grace, a priest is there to guarantee that..to "forgive the sins of any, [for] they are forgiven." Jn 20:23. This is especially important in matters of mortal sin.
And, hey, if nothing else, confession is such a relief. I can say from experience that is it a wonderful experience. Priests give sound advice that truly helps you on your spiritual journey. And I know I behave myself when I have that accountability of a confession every week!!
Anyway, I know this is long, but I hope it helps you to understand (& I hope they're in order lol) :)

Because I love my God, and Lord Jesus, and I sing to the holy Father because it gives me total peace, and I know I am truly loved by he, and his son Jesus Christ. That is all one needs.

MenechemShaul 1 year ago
To many insiders, it has seemed as if the Lord’s Supper was a requirement for salvation. But verse 63 makes plain that only the Spirit gives life; Jesus’ flesh does not do so. These are simply striking metaphors for Identifying with Christ in his atoning death for the sins of humanity.

@xxzzxx99 @MenechemShaul @fromdeath2life Nobody can condemn anyone other than CHRIST. MY BODY IS REAL FOOD AND MY BLOOD IS REAL DRINK"
theaxedr88 1 year ago
@theaxedr88 Psalm 92 'A stupid person does not know,
a fool does not understand this: though the wicked sprout like grass and all evildoers flourish, they will be eternally destroyed.' (HCSB) All the word Eucharist means is Thanksgiving. Nowhere is Cannibalism taught!
MenechemShaul 1 year ago
@xxzzxx99 @MenechemShaul @fromdeath2life Truth is, nobody can condemn anyone else. He didn't leave
theaxedr88 1 year ago
@xxzzxx99 @MenechemShaul @fromdeath2life As far as that Scripture from timothy used, well it also says the word "works" when many beleive that it's faith alone, or saved by grace "ONLY" but works also save. Not works alone, but good works+faith+obedience+grace=sanctification. or as the Beatitudes of the Catholic Church say "fath hope and charity" driving forces that produce Gods Grace.
theaxedr88 1 year ago
@theaxedr88 Faith without works is dead, this does not mean that I need Sacraments for salvation! There is a difference. The works that are referred by James, HALF BROTHER OF JESUS, the Apostle is found in James 2:14-26 and they include giving someone a coat or food or other charitable works, not 'Sacramental' 'grace' or 'works'. When it comes to Scripture there are three words that must be applied CONTEXT, CONTEXT, CONTEXT! Stop twisting God's word!
MenechemShaul 1 year ago
@MenechemShaul it is not canibalism. yes context context context. Why did so many of his followers leave in John 6? because they felt the same way you did. "this teaching is too difficult. who can hear this?" His apostles stayed. Everyone took him litterally. Jesus never said, do this symbolically. He let the others leave. then He asked His apostles, "will you also leave me" and peter spoke out "to whom will we go..."
theaxedr88 1 year ago
@theaxedr88 To quote you 'it is not canibalism' (your spelling error not mine) He never said do this in actuality of me either. Paul makes a strong statement for Consubstantiation when he says 'For whoever eats and drinks without recognizing the body, eats and drinks judgment on himself.' (1 Corinthians 11:29 HCSB). the full context teaches that one who eats the BREAD and drinks THE CUP of the LORD in a disgusting manner, brings guilt and sin on the Body and Blood of the LORD.
MenechemShaul 1 year ago
@MenechemShaul I'm not twisting Gods word. Jesus was very very specific. He was litteral in that teaching. by the divine power of Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, at the Last Supper, He changed bread into His body and wine into His blood. Supernaturally. It still looked like bread and still looked like wine but spiritually and supernaturally it was what He said it was. And today, the miracle continues. "DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME"
theaxedr88 1 year ago
@theaxedr88 Hebrews 9-10 comes to mind! He was offered once and for all. when your cult 'Represents' and claim that you need frequent reception of Communion for salvation this goes against what Paul teaches (I am one of those who believes that Paul wrote Hebrews because of how rabbinic it reads). Furthermore Christ never taught cannibalism he said that it was a symbolism of remembrance to him when he says Do in Memory. Transubstantiation was not church doctrine until Innocent III!
MenechemShaul 1 year ago
@theaxedr88 You are twisting the Word of God and your church is notorious in doing this! Your church teaches that The Word of God is thew Word of God in the words of humans. In other words you are not to take the Word of God literally (Which is what is taught in seminaries and Catholic Schools), and yet you always seem to take this part literally! You Catholics are hypocrites!
MenechemShaul 1 year ago
@MenechemShaul ouch, I thought this debate was to be somewhat different than the rest. I guess I was wrong. I was joyful in the way you had phrased your message. But you are quite judgmental. How am I a hypocrite? I never once said i was perfect. I'm speaking of teachings. Not of myself. I'm nowhere near perfect. But I try to be as much like Jesus as I can. "I can do all things in Him who strengthens me" I'm a pharisee?
theaxedr88 1 year ago
@MenechemShaul "why do you see the splinter in your brothers eye and not see the tree in yours?" "Judge not" "He that judges shall be judged in the same way by the Father" take it easy man. Context is important. many things are not to be taken litterally, but when you read John 6, there is no clearer way of looking at it. there was no metaphor, there was no simily, nothing. Jesus allowed the others to leave. He would've called back to them to explain the teaching, but he didn't. Why? Explain
theaxedr88 1 year ago 26
@theaxedr88 What about Jn 6:31-33? It is a comparison of the Manna of the O.T. and Jesus in the N.T. The Manna was God's provision for Israel in the wilderness and it stopped once they took the land. Jesus death is God's provision for man's sin. Once for all. When a person believes in Christ alone for salvation they are declared righteous by God. Jesus is explaining the comparison through the rest of the chapter. look at Jn 6:63 "flesh profits nothing... my words are spirit" ...believe

@xxzzxx99 @MenechemShaul @fromdeath2life The Holy Bible, or the New Testament Canon was put together by the Coucil of Trent.
They don't beleive in the divinity of Jesus Christ
theaxedr88 1 year ago
@theaxedr88 Again weak argument for ones who have distorted the word of God!At one time the Catholic Church was lead by God's Spirit that time has long since passed! When evils have been done by your cult, do not tell me that you are in the truth! All evils were done with blessings of the so called 'infallible' popes! Do yourself a favour and 'Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.' (2 Tim 2:15 KJV)

The church has obviously made mistakes(unfortunately we are people too) but it is still closest to the real truth! peace!
FiremanOly 1 year ago 2
I find the people who call Catholicism(Both Roman and Eastern rites) to be a cult to be a bit childish since the Catholic Church was the first church, an official religion. Those who claim the Catholic Church to be a cult seem to have somekind of cult-like worsip style themselves.
Ohgod95 1 year ago 2
@Ohgod95 Another one deceived! I will pray for you. I had two years of seminary, I left because it does not gel with what Scripture teaches.
MenechemShaul 1 year ago
@MenechemShaul You do realize my friend that you have a very precarious position here, what do you mean by the Scripture teaches? I believe it must mean that I'm deceived because I'm not gel with "your" interpretation of what the Scripture really teaches. Base on what standard, or merit, or authority do you have to make me believe in your interetation then? Do you have historical evidences? Is your interpretation of the Scripture sound? Does it go well with what the Early Christians believed?
Ohgod95 1 year ago
@MenechemShaul If you have no evidence, no proofs to prove to me otherwise, I'm afraid you too have no authority whatsoever to call me deceived, or anyone to be deceived. That's a problem with Protestantism, I once too was a Sola Scripture anti-Catholic Creationist, but none other than the Catholic Church have showed to me the balance between reason and faith. One of my greatest teacher used to say: "Truly, only the Catholic Church is the most reasonable among all other Christian denominations.
Ohgod95 1 year ago

Ohgod95 1 year ago
@MenechemShaul Now you must have realized that what you've showed me that is called "proof" is basically not the Scripture, but your interpretation of the Scripture, given that situation, what could justifies your interpretation of the Scripture? What makes your interpretation right among thousands of other Protestant denominations? One Bible, One Holy Spirit, but different conclusions? Surely the Holy Spirit can't be the God of confusion, then how can all claim to be inspired by the Spirit?

Too bad this song is in reference of Sacramental Grace and not true Grace! This is only one form of Grace recorded in God's word, not seven! I am glad Our Lifeteen priest was born again and taught by the doctrine of Sola Scriptua, in other words if it is not Biblically accepted it is not true Doctrine (CF 2 Timothy 3:16-17). He was against Cannibalism (Transubstantiation) and in favour of Consubstantiation, against Mary and 'saint' Worship , he was pretty much a Baptist taking the truth to Rome.
MenechemShaul 1 year ago
@MenechemShaul We don't worship Mary or the Saints. We simply ask them to pray ("intercede") for us just as you would ask a friend to pray for you or someone else in need. It is definitely a common misconception of the Catholic Church. We believe in ONE God, the God, & He alone receives our WORSHIP. Just to clarify.
39cjohnson 1 year ago
@39cjohnson If He alone receives your worship than explain Eucharistic Adoration, the Rosary, Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the false doctrine of the Queen of heaven [Refer to Jeremiah 44] , 'Honour' (which is actually worship as you pray to them and consult them who are dead which goes against Scripture [Isaiah 8]) of the saints (According to Sacred Scripture we are all Saints [People of God]).
MenechemShaul 1 year ago

39cjohnson 1 year ago

Ohgod95 1 year ago
@MenechemShaul First of all, we Catholics and Orthodox do that because it's Biblical(read Maccabees, the transfiguration of Jesus...), from the writings of the early saints, from the anthropological and historical evidences which I could quote at anytime. Therefore the practice of praying for intercession is Biblical and historically correct. I guess the Roman cult has the edge on history, but at least I have evidence, can you show me evidences from the oil burning incident by Vatican?
Ohgod95 1 year ago
@MenechemShaul 2 Timothy said the Scripture was "Profitable" or "useful", yet nowhere in the Bible stated that the Scripture is alone. Given that the doctrine of Sola Scriptura is true, then one must ask himself how did the early Church maintain themselves without the Bible? Again Sola Scriptura also require Christians to read for themselves and interpret it personally, how would this even happen if they didn't have printing press? Scollastic materials? Or even a Bible to begin with?
Ohgod95 1 year ago

@MenechemShaul I myself found home in the Catholic Church now after years of being an anti-Catholic Creationist Fundamentalist Protestant.

@MenechemShaul A catholic priest teaching sola scriptura? You should have ran for the hills. Why be influenced by a heretic? This priest has blinded you to the truth. was it his influence that caused you to leave the seminary?
xxzzxx99 1 year ago
@xxzzxx99 I had already rejected the Catholic cult at age twelve after Reading Scripture from cover to cover. I was in seminary classes as a teen with no intention to pursue the false priesthood. The reason the Bishop took special interest in me because of my devotion to Scripture and because I was studying more so Adult Catholic books than the usual curriculum for kids in grade 6. The Apostles all taught Sola Scriptura for example look at 2Tim3:10-17.The cult you claim to be valid are heretics.
MenechemShaul 1 year ago
@MenechemShaul Of course you rejected catholicism. They kicked your family out of Spain. Thats why you rejected the catholic church (and the truth). The Apostles taught sola scriptura? Thats just not true. Do you have a source? A credible one? Because the only accounts of those times are the ones passed down through the catholic church. Think about it. The only christian church that existed when the apostles did and still does is the catholic church. Name me one other?
xxzzxx99 1 year ago
@xxzzxx99 You have yet to show me what truth. I love how when challenged and you cannot come up with a solid argument you just start to insult a person instead of questioning Church doctrine and working to 'Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who doesn't need to be ashamed, correctly teaching the word of truth.' (2 Timothy 2:15 Holman Christian Standard Bible). I have a credible source and I have used it with you in previous arguments for Sola Scriptura, 2 Timothy 3:10-16.

@xxzzxx99 Look up the history of the anabaptist. And see what the Roman Catholic church was doing to them. Read the book, "trail of blood".
fromdeath2life 1 year ago
@xxzzxx99 If your church was so Sacred then explain the Crusades, the Inquisition and the boiling of Christians in Oil for wanting to follow Scripture instead of fallible man! If your cult was the true Church of Christ it would be acting as such! You cult has done so many evils in the Name of Christ, our King, that you are not the true church! You came after the death of the original apostles! You need to study history and Scripture as you are ignorant to fact.
MenechemShaul 1 year ago
@MenechemShaul which proetestant church is the true church? which of the 22,000 protestant denominations has the correct interpretation of scripture? which set of sola sciptura doctrines is the correct one? Because every one of them differs. why do no 2 bible believing denominations believe the same thing? If sola scriptura were a legitimate doctrine, then every denomination would have the same doctrines.
xxzzxx99 1 year ago
@xxzzxx99 What horrible arguments!Need I remind you that your cult is itself a Protestant Church?Remember the Schismof1057?You're protesting the Orthodox Church and its protesting you you both are protesting Biblical Christianity. My hate of the Catholic cult has nothing to do with my roots as I hated its doctrine long before I found out I was Jewish. You whole argument against Sola Scriptura can be said about the various religious orders of you cult, why do the oblates differ from the Franciscans?
MenechemShaul 1 year ago
@MenechemShaul Bad argument. The oblates and Franciscans are obedient to the the same catholic doctrines. (i expect you to know that much). Your problem is that you are hateful, and that is not christian, is it?
xxzzxx99 1 year ago
@xxzzxx99 They still differ when it comes to certain things. For example the Oblates a cloistered for the most part, Franciscans are out in the community. The Benedictines are much like the Oblates more so than the Franciscans. I knew what I was saying and I stand by what I said. BTW, There are saved Catholics in the World.
MenechemShaul 1 year ago
@MenechemShaul Well, I'm glad to hear that there are some saved catholics in the world!!
xxzzxx99 1 year ago
@MenechemShaul You cant answer my questions though. Which protestant denomination is the true church
xxzzxx99 1 year ago
@xxzzxx99 Denominations are not the true church; the body of Christ is the Church and to be part of the body you are to believe the gospel; Eph 2:8,9.
fromdeath2life 1 year ago
@xxzzxx99 All who Preach the word of God with out distorting it is part of the Body of Christ!
MenechemShaul 1 year ago
@xxzzxx99 You are highly uneducated and continuing on with these arguments are not beneficial to either party.
MenechemShaul 1 year ago
@MenechemShaul Why did the church do these things? the same reason Peter chopped a guys ear off. Humans make mistakes. We are all sinners: catholics, Jews, protestants, muslims. I'm not even gonna debate your ludicrous statement about the apostles. You need to stop reading false accounts of history, and find the truth. The apostles were part of the catholic church as were all the desert fathers, Augustine etc. You ever read Augustine?
xxzzxx99 1 year ago
@xxzzxx99 Why can you not use proper English, what does gonna mean? You need to refresh yourself of the words of Paul in Romans 9-10 and when it comes to Sola Scriptura 2 Timothy 3:10-17! 'All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.' (2 Timothy 3:16-17 Holman Christian Standard Bible).
MenechemShaul 1 year ago
@MenechemShaul Gonna means going to. (is it not obvious)
xxzzxx99 1 year ago
@xxzzxx99 This was not my issue my issue is with you, being in your thirties (although you act like a three year old), should know how to use proper English. How can you claim that Peter was the first Pope when the term never existed in his day nor was he ever Bishop of Rome? The only time he made it into Rome was when he was put to death.
MenechemShaul 1 year ago
@xxzzxx99 My birth family were victims of Rome's Covert or die tactics during the Inquisition and eventually was kicked out of Spain and relocated to Holland where we changed our last name from Belmonte to Schonberger. A good start for you would be this book Jewish Believers in Jesus: The Early Centuries by Reidar Hvalvik and Oskar Skarsaune. You need to study instead of just claiming that we are heretics. Prove to me that I am a heretic!
MenechemShaul 1 year ago
@MenechemShaul Ok, i see why you hate the catholic church now
xxzzxx99 1 year ago
@MenechemShaul Sorry to hear about your family. The king of Spain got it wrong. The church has had a long history, and a lot of power. Anyone in power has many temptations.. Unfortunately some of those in power have abused that power. (we are all sinners, are we not). Choose any country with a long history, and then annalyse its leaders. See how many of them were corrupted.
xxzzxx99 1 year ago
@xxzzxx99 Now You're changing your story!First you defend the Inquisition because the Jews refused the'truth'and thats why they were kicked us out.I quote you verbatim"Of course you rejected catholicism. They kicked your family out of Spain.Thats why you rejected the catholic church(and the truth).'You have proven yourself to be unstudied and when truly challenged this is why you are quick to change your story.I refuse to go on with someone like you is is living in a state of blissful ignorants!
MenechemShaul 1 year ago
@MenechemShaul You misunterpreted what i said. I said that YOU rejected the catholic church and the truth. What i meantt by the truth is that the catholic church is the truth: the true church. And you rejected that truth, when you rejected the catholic church. Thats all i meant. I never meant the inquisition was the truth, or just . (it was a definitely mistake!! )
xxzzxx99 1 year ago

What i don't understan about catholicism is why you need to confess your sins to a person, you can just go straight to God through prayer.
logman92 1 year ago
@logman92 :) I'm a Catholic and I have many questions about my faith, too. In fact, I had your question about confession. I find that the best tool when I am confused is the Catholic Apologetics..I'll answer your question and I hope it makes sense to you as it did for me..this is taken directly from it:

Respond to this video... @logman92 :)
39cjohnson 1 year ago
Respond to this video... @logman92 :) This is vital because he is giving his Apostles the ability to loose the sins of others. The bishops and popes of today are descended from these very Apostles, and they pass on that authority to priests. Another powerful point to consider here is that Christ BREATHED on the Apostles when he conferred the power to forgive sins.
39cjohnson 1 year ago
Respond to this video... @logman92 :) The only other time that God breathed on anyone was when He breathed life into the first human being (Gn 2:7). That is an extraordinary symbol. And Catholics always confess their sins to God. We do it directly as well as through His ministers because that is what God requires scripturally.
39cjohnson 1 year ago
Respond to this video... @logman92 :)
Another Biblical passage is St. Paul explaining how the Apostles are ambassadors of Christ's work of reconciliation (forgiving sins). The verse is 2 Cor 5: 17-20.
39cjohnson 1 year ago
Respond to this video...
39cjohnson 1 year ago
Respond to this video...
39cjohnson 1 year ago
Respond to this video...
39cjohnson 1 year ago
Respond to this video...
39cjohnson 1 year ago
Respond to this video... @logman92 :)
It is true that God can forgive sin without his instruments, but in order know that one is in the state of grace, a priest is there to guarantee that..to "forgive the sins of any, [for] they are forgiven." Jn 20:23. This is especially important in matters of mortal sin.
39cjohnson 1 year ago
Respond to this video... @logman92 :)
