What's wrong with boys and girls having the same name? Americans have that too... like Jaime, or Kelly or Shannon or Sam (usually short for samantha for girls). But most cultures have unisex names.

BTW, her first name is Minh Tuyet (not just Minh) and I doubt you'll ever find a Vietnamese guy named "Minh Tuyet".

Also, Vietnamese names have different phonetics. Though spelled the same in Romanized letters, the accent marks can turn a name female or male.
