Seems most of the dumps out West have low profile sided dumo boxes. Ours here in Ont are alot deeper and have air or excavator box style tailgates not those neat opening ones!
Usually the lift gates are to let a transfer box into the truck, but a lot of single trucks have them too, just makes it easier to get stuff out, like large stumps or so on...
