@bimmen325 That's pathetic, why don't you understand what you are talking about first. 1) no shit the LFA is faster first off its almost 4 times the gar's price and the mods they did for the test made the car not street legal the 2012 gtr did not even change the street tires2) the 911gt2rs is way lighter and barely beats it again way more money and the zr-1 beat it by less than 5 seconds and has a slower 0-60 and costs 25g more for that price i could shave a couple seconds off the gtr

Nissan started all this back in the day when they wanted to market their Skyline for Europe. They saw there was no "production" car record on the Ring. So they tweaked the shit out of a Skyline, hired a driver and duly posted the worlds first 8 minute production car lap. The press got hold of it and made it a big thing and the legend was born. Today Nissan wants to market their GT-R. They have no race heritage that we can relate to so they use the Ring and target Corvette in USA.

@dormytorry They are coming back in 2012. Suppose to have over 700 hp and are adding traction control. This will be the second time that the Viper has been brought back. Its a marketing sceme. It worked the first time so I guess they wanted to try it again. The Viper ACR posted a lap of 7:12 and the Viper ACR-X posted a lap of 7:03.

If these runs were at all legit, there would be press conference with European motor press invited, tons of pictures, interviews and marketing for all its worth. @laaloboyzwestside really bro, a stripped out, winged out, race ready car that says right on the side AMERICAN CLUB RACING, ran a faster lap time than a car with full leather interior, GPS, A/C, fully stock trim plus saftey gear and computers. what does the SRT10 coupe run it in(NON-ACR), thats a better comparison. same lame thing as the LFA RING edition, sore losers building a special trim to perform well at the track, try driving that one every day

I'm saying, I used to have a 2005 WRX STI, it came with the Potenza on it OE. They were almost slicks and although they where decent, I replaced them with a set of Michelin all season tires and the all seasons actually had better traction in the dry/wet and better grip in the turns with less resistance.. Bridgestone fails at making tires, that's why a good set of Michelins cost 270-380 while a set of bridgestone Potenza's cost around 178 bucks. There's a huge gap in between as far as performance

@zela9999 The Michelin Sport cups ARE OEM factory tires designed for the street and track. The tires are made for the Corvettes period. They are also RUNFLATS. They are 100% intended for the street and the track. The RE070R a have a semi Slick outer tire just like the Sport Cups.

@zela9999 There are a couple different types of Bridgestones that are specially made for factory cars such as the skyline, in a sense, the Potenza that is factory standard is essentially a drag radial. Not only are the Pilot Sport Cup tires a runflat tire meaning that they are a pretty tough compound, can still pull over a 1.3g in a turn, and gets good tread life to boot? That's simply incredible, also, don't you ever fucking DARE compare Shitstone to Michelin ever EVER again, that's a disgrace.
