  • hey please send me the plans

  • the (slide panel), as is the trade name and where it connects

  • 12 people sell overpriced synths

  • wow thats beautiful music

  • wow that's amazing... i love this music

  • Man, this is fucking awesome. Damn!

  • Dope! Great application!

  • so is it like the bar you slide the wand on a sort of old school POT and the other four POTs go to the arduino controlling how much/durency of specific tones?

  • @SimoRacingEngines it is Auduino indeed, it is another open-source project based on Arduino ;)

  • @zildjian shame on me :(

excuse me but i'm italian as arduino xD

  • ARDUINO not "auduino"

  • YOu should do a collaboration with Ronald Jenkees

  • these soulectro beats are free on mee: kickthecan.bandcamp.com

  • how did you make that keyboard like thing?

  • @xzibit2313 Seems like a piece of graphite

  • on the google sight, there is no schematics

  • nicey

  • daft punk..?

  • where can we buy the same please ??

  • i was just wondering y would you take a part your Gakken SX-150 to make another synth, does it sound better?

  • nice

  • hello.

    I really liked your video.

    could you share the diagram.

    thanks

Greetings from the faculty of the electronics of the BUAP in mexico.

  • @jovanclick

link up there. look again kojack.

  • hey i just have a question for you. Now is this a kit you buy and assemble or is it your own creation? also where can you buy em if you can or get schematics? i am going to school for electronics and think this would be a great project to attempt. thanks for your time.

  • T-Pain? :P

  • PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Make a tutorial on how to build this thing. PLEASE!!!!

  • A M A Z I N G ! ! ! : )

  • very good :)

  • wow! very musical. you are talented.

  • I love how it sounds at 1:37. I've tried to emulate that sound with my korg ds-10

check imy last song, Summer hit, to hear the results if you please. : )

    You are a master!

  • To make a granular version of it, you just basicaly replaced one of the potentiometers with a carbon plate that has a same resistance as the pot and used the stick to determine its value right? But how exactly did you do to get the plate to have a maximum resistance of 4.7kR or whatever it needed to be?

    Thanks.

  • @AnthonySezerFrance

Its already granular, and works with anything that produces a value between 0 and 5 volts

  • I like the sound. the write up on the Auduino was worth the read, thanks.

  • I believe this is the nicest (cheap) Arduino synth I've seen. Congratulations.

  • The tunes are cool - i'd like to see more of the synth's controls/functionality - like how did you introduce the delay sound? Is that part of the synth or something else?

  • this is so enjoyable.

  • Cool how do you make it? I mean what parts do you buy and how do you set it up?

  • Cool

  • thats some sexy sh1t

  • That just earn't you a subby :)

  • awesome AWESOME!

  • brill stuff

  • In *my* days, we had to use old shoe boxes. These days, the kids get spoilt with high quality cardboard. ;-)

Great vid. Very inventive, as usual. Very musical, as usual.

I look forward to every Denkitribe vid. Thanks!

  • Best perfomance, design and style video about this awesome Synthesizer.

  • Can you Send me the IDE sketch for this?

  • is the delay in the arduino or a separate effects unit?

  • The Delay effect makes you a god ;-)

  • Did you run it through effects like delay or was that dry?

  • At first I thought it sounded really gay but then it really kicked ass!! Good Work

  • nice beat! Youre good for DJ dude!

  • これ欲しいな

  • Instruments of the future, Awesome!!!

  • hmmmm, that stylus board looks very familar . Cough *Gakken SX-150* cough!, lol :)

  • its amazing too see that someone out there in this world knows synth!!!CHEERS

  • can some one explain to me , is this a synth i can by built or is it a chip and program i but then buy the parts to build it then it works together , is it possible to buy a prebuilt one

  • @DeJayPlp, the Arduino can be bought at sparkfun prebuilt, the Audino, however im not sure, but theres not a whole lot of programming needed, theres probably sketches out there for it already, however you may need to rig up some circuits, or at least find some schematics other people have made.

  • i mean i want to buy one but what will actualy come in the box, a cd for the synth program , the schematics, a prebuilt synth ??? i havent fully understood . can i download the program free then find the schematics online and built it without actualy buying it , i still dont know.

  • @DeJayPlp arduino . cc/

it's a board you buy and program. right side of screen. hit more info in description.

  • Can you put a keyboard on to that thing that makes the sounds? so you can tap the sounds with a keyboard

  • @huuperi yes, it's the same mechanism of a keyboard, the keyboard have a variable resistor like this underneath it.

  • Wow yeah :)

  • you sir, are epic nice form!

  • goto show people how to build it, its awesome

  • sweet , just bought one. and its programmed in C and i just so happen to know C. adding reverb really made that sound good!! well done

  • where can i buy it

and what things do i need

    ?

  • u can get in on ebay... the gakken sx-150 they're fucking awsome

  • put it in the fancy box and do a live show ,, great 5/5

  • I wish I was smart!!

  • You don't have to be, buy a couple programming books, a book about electronics and away you go.

Once you start actually TRYING, it seems less overwhelming; lifes too short to wish you "were smart enough to do this".

  • listen up kids these are words of wisdom here. you can still go the library and get a book for free

  • @RondoRaven listen up Candy-A**. these are better words here, you can still go home and screw yourself for free

  • @skulleton Life is short, but hey - if one isn't smart enough to do this - hopefully they're at least rich enough to pay someone to make it for them :D

  • @skulleton word

  • @skulleton Exactly! You don't have to be an electrical engineer or computer scientist to have fun with an Arduino. The main thing you need is the willingness to learn. Start with blinking an LED and go from there. There is tones of info on the net.

The arduino simplifies things quite a bit. My electronics and programming skills are limited. But, with an Arduino I was able to combine the two and fairly impressive things(feel free to look at my vids) I wouldn't have been able to do otherwise.

  • @skulleton what about wasting time not doing this and buying a fucking synthesizer instead

  • @GuruBabadesh

he was asking how to build this, not how to buy it.

    run along now.

  • @skulleton Thumbs up :]

  • @skulleton Are there books you recommend?

  • @gregorydgarcia get an entry level book into electronics, maybe a college level academic book. I would highly recommend The C Programming Language (KNR), but to get your feet wet with C there are resources online. Use Google. Hope that helps bud.

  • @skulleton That is so true. It took me 2 years to realize C and C++ are not mystical programming languages. I've only just been exposed to audunio but being a music producer and a programmer, it makes sense to combine talents and interests.

  • the music makes me want to make looooooooove

  • that's not a good thing...

  • @chrisxdeboy YES!

  • How we call the resistor you touch with your pen? linear? i tried to find one in market but couldnt..

  • i think you should google softpot

i may be wrong, im a total noob on this.

please reply if im right haha

  • Its the resistor bar from the Gaken SX-150 synth. Google it :)

  • I think it's just a slide potentiometer with the cover removed.

  • It's a ribbon controller from a synth kit called the Gakken SX-150.

  • What is the resistor material made of, that you touch with pen?

  • u the man!

  • Great !!

  • thats sick. whats the guitar line from in that song, it was also used in bad companys 'ladies from spain' if i remember right, which is an amazing tune. cool ass device, makes me want to get out my ribbon controller kit from paia ($.50) and make a apc type synth with pwm control (cheaper alternative to an arduino for the same type of sounds). someday i will have to mess around with these arduinos! when money is not so tight

  • omg so fukin sick, i have to get/make one now!!!!!!!

  • The Aurduino doesn't have an audio DAC... Did you build a DAC externally? How are you generating such nice audio?

Also, I was thinking of a drum machine project where I would generate 4 one-second drum sounds and play them back via a sequencer. Would such a thing be difficult basing it on your design?

  • Gakken SX-150 - with upgraded knobs ... right?

  • thats what i call freaky-sound!!! very nice !!!

show us some more of these :-)

  • Holly crackers.. wow that's cool!!

  • I did build the same thing... but used a cup of salted water to change resistance. fun too :)

  • i hate it when people showcase things and dont help you. dont get me wrong this synth is awesome but its a little sad that i cant make one with a quick quide. but ill follow your guide: ill do it myself ;)

  • Comment removed

  • go to instructables . c o m and make one then ! good luck.

  • Coolest crappy DIY stuff on Youtube xD Awesome, I need to build mine !

  • it aint crappy! I think its one of the coolest home-made synths ever, it's actually MUSICAL and usable :) fantastic effort my man! One question though, where did you wire the gakken to? was it off a pot or on the actual arduino? Thanks!

  • Oh yes it rocks ! I meant it is really "ghetto" DIY by the pizza box ! But it rocks awesome ! I want mine !

  • all the effects comes up from arduino an those pins?

ehat source code you used ?

  • pretty sure those were applied down the chain. arduino isn't that hi-fi.

  • wow awesome

  • Nice video :)

  • On a pizza box? I love it. Pure goodyness.

  • amazing!

  • whats that ? ... cool shit for for 50 $ sounds well ! and its a very good idea with that where you slide on with the metal pin ...hmmmm.... i think i should build one for me !

  • ribbon synth = lol

  • Cool! Looks like sometihng from the 60s, sounds like something from the 80s :D

  • Soo, Sooooo coooooool!

  • Loool :D... You're crazy man

    congratulations (Y)

  • cool, must take a lot of patience. n_n

  • Great !!

  • even like my kaossilator ... -100€

  • かっこいい!

  • Sounds sooooo gooood.... :)

  • nice work

  • ahaha no way!!

  • You electronic White Gandalf.Perfect :D.Moooooooog sounds;D.

  • sounds great for a $50 digital synth, I'm impressed..

  • You are the greatest!

  • its so good it makes me wanna cry

  • it makes me want to cry because I know I will never be able to accomplish something this fantastic.

  • There is a link for instructions on how to build your own under the more info link to the right directly under the date.

  • That is impressive! What is the background beat ?

  • great tunes, cool little synth!

  • Really great demonstration of the sounds the auduino synth makes and then how it can be mixed into well produced music!!!

  • I am so surprised to hear a digital filter + resonance, very cool! I'm working on a 1V/oct vco ATM on the atmega168

  • aye! more more ^^!!

  • lol,

    a mad scientist+carboard box=sythisizer

  • hahahahahahahaha...

  • OMG, I am totally amazed by this guys' electrical and musical talent. He should be making the big bucks somewhere!!

  • he is.

  • Wow...

  • Great stuff. I wish I had the time to do stuff like this. Wife, kids, house, job taking up all my time.

  • and he does it yet again! love your stuff..

  • Thats awesome - i want one

  • ゴイス

  • すごい!!

  • Fantastic!

  • Smooth! And great to see another video of yours pop up! :)

  • a diy sinth???how the hell u made that shit??

    i m a fakin padowan

    amazing anyway

  • Welcome back Denkitribe :)

  • sounds very japanese :P

  • Very kewl.

  • wow

  • É A PORRA DA LUMINÁRIA!

  • cool ;)

  • great stuff!

  • amazing

  • FUN

  • totally cool :D

  • nice work with the ribbon controller, I'm thinking about combining the auduino into the sx-150 and using some switches to allow the ribbon controller to control either or both. Cool stuff!

  • cool, just read the details and seen the scematics posted, thx..!, by the way have you seen the video of someone using the magnetic strip of a credit card as a ribbon midi controller...?

  • amazing.....!!, I got this book from the library once called "Homemade electronic music", and it had detailed instructions on how to make simple 2 osc synths from just basic everyday electric circuit / appliances...., its one of these things on my to do list, as well as building my own MIDI controller..(LOL)... though at the time was too much for me, considering i could only borrow the book for 2 weeks....this is great denkitribe, any chance of posting some details or scematics of some type...?

  • you are godlike with your sounds

  • Cool sounds! :-D

  • Denkitribe at it's best! As always....

    Thx buddy. Great vid!

  • Well done, man!! Don't give a f**k if is cardboard. That´s the idea around DIY!

  • ok so i was wrong it isnt FAKE

  • lol I was going to comment that you made a typo and that it should have been 'Arduino', but after some lukring I found out that this is a synth based on the platform ;p

    nice improv btw!

  • Did you build it on a pizza box?

  • Inspirational.

  • Lol ? Super bien fait ! Good work !

  • kool

  • this isnt fake

  • this aint fake.

  • xD its motherf*cking cardboard!

Dude, use at least some wood.

  • cool, really good.

can you make me one to buy !

  • amazing! Denkitribe you are always opening my eyes to amazing gear! As soon as my midibox is finished, I am building one of these! thanks again!

  • Amazin owo i now that's a synth i'd try to make

  • VERY COOL!!!

  • Long time not heard from you... its always a gift to watch a video from you.

  • could you give more information on making this? i'm very interested.

  • Denki u r #1!!!!

  • You are so cool, man!

Just bought the thing to make a MIDI controller :)

    Synth will be next!

    Respect your work!

  • What kind of effect are you running it through?
