WTF??? somebody traded this game in at my job and i saw the price tag for 149.99? at first i was like HUH?? this has to be a mistake so i called HQ and it actually is the right price. why?? soo many better games out and this game is the highest price we have at work. whats so special about this game? it looks like a shitty side scroller

Because for its time it was a game that was pushing the gameboy hardware to its limits, it was a really nice game, but the problem, it was released when the GBC was almost dead, because the GBA was almost ready to be realeased, so it didnt sell well, today its a cult classic game, and the cartridge its extremely rare to find, so the only way to find it, its buying on the internet, so thats why its so expensive.

Uh, the Game Boy Advance had been out just a week and two days short of a YEAR when Shantae came out. The GBA wasn't "ready to be released," it was already in full swing.

I LOVE this game!This is one of the exceptions in my "no american games" policy.This and Sigma Star Saga,by the same guy(Matt Bozon).I always found it really tricky,but it is still insanely fun.However,being an American game,it sadly has many glitches that could have been easily fixed with better beta testing...Anyway,the music of the first playthrough of Scuttle Town is insanely epic.
