  • hauntingly beautiful

  • her voice is flawless

  • @drmedwuast and while playing the piano, which makes singing twice as hard. cheers.

  • Beautiful!!!...it is so sad that kids today are exposed to crap like Lady Caca and all the shit coming from media.

  • Thanks for posting this! Paula wrote this song after a dear friend of hers died of complications due to AIDS. She wanted to write something that was gentle and sweet without it being "banal or morose."

  • sad world is so sad!

  • tormentingly pure lol

  • tormentingly pure

  • Honestly, I perfer Annie Lennox's verison, because there is a quality in her voice that is so otherwordly and haunting, that I feel no one else can parallel.

But Paula did it amazinly as well, and props to her for writing an absoloutely STUNNING song. Lyrics are vivid, and brilliant.

  • So nice to hear she's still writing songs. "This Fire" was a significant album in my life, wouldn't have pulled through without it.

  • amazing!

  • I love the line, "Sleep sleep sleep says the hundredth sheep".

  • this is such a sad & haunting song. there's a beautiful video on her Facebook, I believe, where she speaks of what it menat to have Annie Lennox re-record the song, very touching.

  • Thumbs up if your here because of Charmed =)

  • @racheladams456 huh? are u in drugs???

  • @stburkhardt19 No, this song was played on one of the episodes of a series called Charmed

  • @racheladams456 totally why else besides to lisghen to the beautiful song it just cought my ear the first time i saw the episode dead man dating and have loved this song since she is an amazing singer

  • @racheladams456 yep, i first heard this song on charmed and had to seek it out!

    Lonely Ranger

  • @doowaditti she's here! Ithaca! New Album!

  • opps!!! Isaw secret world twice Luisalonsoechevira...she never did that song with Peter...sorry!

  • @MrTrebond I think what she meant by her comment is that The Secret World was her first big break. She didn't say this particular song was performed on tour with Peter. the album version of the song features Peter Gabriel.

  • I have her albums. I love her so much. One of my music influence. Bery Unique.

    Thanks for posting this.

    Blessed be.

  • incredible. she is so talented and should be very proud =)

  • who on Gods earth missed the liked button!!!>:(

  • Hmm, I wish the sound quality was better. The video quality is nice, though. Thank you.

  • I love this song- especially near the middle to end- seductive.......

  • She has a very very good voice... but you can't get better than annie... annie voice is haunting and memorizing... plus for some reason i feel this more with annie sings this... but paula has to be given credit for writing a beautiful song! she actually said "annie lennox was one of my biggest influences vocally" and said she loved annie,

  • beautiful song and singer but ptrefer annie lennox version

  • Yes and in that documentary, Annie Lennox asked Paula Cole what the song meant while they were studying how to sing it.

  • hauntingly beautiful

  • Paula originally sung this song with Peter Gabriel. She sang awesomely on Peter Gabriel's Secret World tour, her first big break.

  • @luisalonsoecheverria it was beautiful!!!!

  • what's the of the song by paula cole on dawsons creek (end of 2x05)

  • i don't wanna wait

  • yes...paula wrote and performed it first...annie covered it per herbie hancock's request for his cd, possibilities. i love both versions!

  • Lovely song: great original by Herbie Hancock and Annie Lennox, and great cover by these folks! Thanks Paula Cole & friends.

  • This song actually was written by Paula Cole, -and Herbie Hancock and Annie Lennox covered her--right?

  • Correct.

  • @fbahrami lol no

  • Heard this on Herbie Hancock's HBO documentary with Annie Lennox singing and thought it was one of the most beautiful songs I'd ever heard - so simple and elegant; completely captures the tenderness of slow death with the massive disruption that it brings to the heart. (And she sings it great too..) Well done on every level.

  • Paula- What a tender song!! I love it! I too lost many, far too many dear friends ( in the late '80s) to AIDS!!
