Hey thanks again for allowing me to post my video response. I realize I picked an easy Metallica song, but I tried to embellish it a little LOL. As for the Megadeth/Metallica debate, it always makes me laugh. I have been a fan of both since the early days (I'm about to turn 40), and playing guitar since then too. I am not slamming Metallica, but Mustaine is technically a better guitar player than Hammett, and always has even better players in his band like Friedman. Sorry, it's true.

I don't listen a lot to Metallica anymore anyway, but I can definitely see what I saw in them for a good 5 years.

Don't be a fanboy and realize that kirk is nothing more than an average guitarist playing in a popular band. Kirk was taking lessons when he came into metallica

He does instrumental work which is i have no problem with that, Chris Poland does a similar thing except he is in a band and goes along with the other players instead of being a soloist. Hey thanks again for allowing me to post my video response. I realize I picked an easy Metallica song, but I tried to embellish it a little LOL. As for the Megadeth/Metallica debate, it always makes me laugh. I have been a fan of both since the early days (I'm about to turn 40), and playing guitar since then too. I am not slamming Metallica, but Mustaine is technically a better guitar player than Hammett, and always has even better players in his band like Friedman. Sorry, it's true.

@zongshu I agree and Dave is a better thrash-metal guitarist and he is technically better. I mean, Kirk's solos are not very advanced but the way he plays it is pretty unique in metal. Imo he is more like a blues-guitarist who got lost. But it has worked fantastically within the composition of the band, so ofc you can see what's positive about that. I don't listen a lot to Metallica anymore anyway, but I can definitely see what I saw in them for a good 5 years.
