ahaha Royce is like..Legendary ahahah he hates being called that soo much he feels the only legend was his father and in a small way it's true grand master Helio made it and Royce showed it
royce is a great person and fighter..he's the one who teach the world how really fighting is. even if he lost oesn't mean he's not worthy.he lost to matt becaus he was coky..this is the mistake..when he was beating everybody he was afraid of loosing..he was fighting with he's heart, but now he lost that caus he already become the hall of famers..
When I first heard about UFC there was Shamrock and Ortiz. Two big guys beating the crap out of each other. I am tall and lanky. When I rented the first UFC I saw this Royce Gracie who was also tall and lanky... beat the crap out of everyone! He has a lot of courage and will always be one of my favorite fighters to watch.
He show's a lot of respect to Helio and Jiu-Jitsu as a whole. I respect that, and he's Royce Gracie, he won UFC when there was no time limit or weight class. In my eyes, he is the best fighter there was.........and still so humble.
@1992lance rashad evans might be a strong and skilled fighter, but he fights with no honor, with no grace, royce gracie fights the way a real worrior shoud fight, he fights with out fighting, he neutralise the opponent with out excess of brutality, while fighting he rimains calm and still, anger, rage, disappointment, or even excitement does not touch him, when he wins, he does not engage in a cocky show off, because he knows pride comes before the fall.
@MrTetsubishi but rashad's too advanced; he knows wrestling, oxing muay thai, AND BJJ! yeah gracie's 10x a better person than rashad, but id have to pick rashad. but what about royce vs rampage or fedor?
@MrTetsubishi look fyi, i'd be a royce fan if i watched ufc in the early days and i still like him. but the fighters now are too advanced. he's still a legend though.
@1992lance since boxer bernard hopkins was a dumbass enough to call mma a faggot sport, how quickly would royce destroy bernard in royce's world?! haha
@1992lance yes, big guys like fedor, may have the upper hand if they get lucky, but winning is not all that matters, how you conduct your self in the arena make the difference between a worrior, and a streetfighter with no ethical principles. We get impressed by the guy who wins, there are so many big strong guys out there who would not hesitate to smash your face to prove they are the best, but this is not the point, we should get impressed by the guy who knows how to win with respect.

@MrTetsubishi Royce is skilled but I would hardly call him a warrior who fights with honor and stifles his emotions. He competed to show off GJJ. In his fight with Gerard Gordeau, Royce became angered and held his rear naked choke on Gordeau long after the ref called it. He admitted this. Royce is cocky and is incapable of accepting loss with sportsmanship like a real warrior should. Royce will refuse to tap which does not make him a warrior. It makes him a stubborn man who can't admit defeat.
@jdmitchell2 Yes, understandable. Being bitten is not cool. But that said, Royce should've acted more maturely. I'm not denying his skills by any means, but I just don't think he's the amazing guy that most people make him out to be. I know it sounds corny and like a cliche but Bruce Lee is as close to the warrior mindset that you can get. I don't think anyone had or has had it 100 % but Bruce definitely came the closest in my opinion.
Where are the rest of the interview parts?

That was because Mr. Gordeau cheated as well. I'm not saying it was justified, just understandable .

Emirates Jiu Jitsu. Thanks for sharing.
I'm Arab myself and I think it's great to see Royce, Renzo, and the other Gracies visiting Arab countries and doing seminars.
