why not also address the concept of simply living within your means? you don't necessarily have to participate in a consumerist culture, buying junk that a person cannot afford with credit.

Oh shut up with that shit. Most people live within their means until something like job loss, medical bills and a drop in home values occur. That is when people start to struggle. But I say, if you are in foreclosure and you cannot work it out with your lender. Destroy the inside of the house to the point the bank will not make a profit. They can't prove you did it if they don't have any pictures of you doing it. Have a foreclosure destroy party.
