i know this a really old video but is the battery a small type conecter or a large type

That handle isn't a "front grip", and a lot of people say its a "carry handle". It's actually used on the real steel for swapping barrels. Picking it up by that or generally fucking around with it is going to break it

for any one wanting to buy this exact gun u can get it off of airsoft global(american website but they send everywhere) for $260(£165) i dont know if they do 2tone paint jobs and i havent tried to order anything from them yet (i suggest that you test to see if customs will let it through by first ordering something cheap like a springer pistol or something to see if that comes)

@Vault101Reject Was a local shop before the UKARA came into affect. You should beable to get an A&K version cheaper somewhere in the UK.

@TheRagtags I found one for £300 over here,but minus shipping,i can get it for $230 in the US. the only thing is,the one over here comes with an M4 mag,mini battery and charger,the one in the use comes with just the 2400 round box magazine and no charger or anything.

i know it'll pass customs because i have bought guns from the US before.

Well I do own a classic army aug and its fairly accurate however its broken now. But i was a ex rental gun. All comes down to luck really and how you treat the gun.

hey i bought the echo1 para version of this but it was always underpowered(around 320fps with .20) i heard that the a&k m249mk2 had alot more power out of the box, is this true??

Well i'm from the UK so our versions of underpowered will be different but the spring is easy enough to change around.

I know that out of the box it's 380 fps, but after changing the piston head that has a little problem (it doesnt cost much) i chronoed 1,49 joule.

hey i had a question, how do u remove the flash hider, if possible, because mine cracked and i would like to get a metal one to replace it...

Looks like there is a small hole near the flash hider...may be a small screw in there...can't really see..but thats looking like your best bet. Hope this helps.

might do, never tried it. The stock hop up is pretty average though so probably.

OH NOS! DONT BREAK MY INTERWEBS!

Someone was telling me the handle in teh front is for removing the barrel on the real one fore cleaning. Also if you carry it from there after awhile it will probably fudge up your gun.

It's airsoft so I don't think it'd be bad but most of the handles on the M249's are bad shitty and are known to break off when people use em to carry the gun.

The carry handle on an actual is used for carry and for removing the barrell(i.e. cleaning, or cyclic fire barrell changes)

Maybe it's just on airsoft you shouldn't considering they aren't made as well as real steal, hence the large price range.

1. how long is the barrel because i want to get a tight bore barrel to use.

2. did u replace the hop up rubber(or bucking i think its called) on urs because i heard that was a problem with the gun

Not sure about the barrel you can probably google that...you'd need the inner barrel length...

Didn't replace the hop no, but could probably do with it as its not great.

Takes a small type battery and you can't fit a large type in...so you'll need a few mini type batterys and get good at changing them around.

For some reason the micro switch in the trigger mechanism seems to become magnetised and the spring in it is unable to break the connection back to off. replaced it with a new one from maplins and now if it sticks i just have to pull the trigger quickly to release it.

There is no rail on the bottem, i have seen rails fitted for ACOGs and i'd suggest a large type 8.4 v battery.

Lucky americans :-p although without realistic ranges and accuracy doesn't the desert get a bit boring? But if you got wide open spaces were squeezing your gun into a room or area isn't likely to be a problem i'd suggest the MK2.. and i'd suggest getting the mod where the gun is powered by a battery from the box mag. I do a mod on mine but it doesn't look as cool. You can check that out on the updated video on the new channel (search "theragtags")

When most people think of 'desert' they think of sand and sand and more sand. Where I live there are giant mountains, lots of brush, big man sized rocks, trenches, streams, desert trees, hills, and it has a mix of CQC and medium to long ranges.

Ah in that case...i'd suggest either the MK1 or the para...but in the end its really down to your own judgement...in that enviroment are you having to swing the aeg around onto targets that are very close to you alot?

I got two big batterys and duct taped them to the side... went through 8300 rounds on saturday and it went through both batterys.. there is a saying in The Ragtags "if it looks stupid and works its not stupid". Doesn't actually look that bad.

Yeah you can, its actually quite easy on this version..you don't have to go into the gearbox for it.

No it doesn't, not hear anything like that, put about 2000 rounds through it in 10 minutes while supressing someone. Did hear about one that went cyclic and wouldn't stop though. Where did you hear this rumour?

it was on airsoft gi sumone posted a comment saying that it locked up over 2000 rounds and it over heated quickly and i also heard it from my local airsoft store and i was speaking to one of the staff and he sed he was talking to a gd freind of his whos m249 locked up after he shot 2000 rounds. Its a pretty solid weapon. Internally had no problems with it yet, also another thing to add is that CA versions for three times the cost tend to have more problems than this one. This is one of the few cheapsoft guns I can get behind.
