Your suggestion that rap will never own this type of longevity is inaccurate. A classic song is a classic song regardless of genre. As a point of reference, I invite you not a classic song, but a classic rap album released in 1987, Criminal Minded by Boogie Down Productions. Even in 2012, that album is still top shelf material.
