  • I have this set and I love them.. Check em on my channel! :)

  • Any chance I could get my hands on the recording of this minus drums?

  • Are you willing to share your tracks without drums? Or make some for people?

  • imjust starting to try out jazz drumming (as opposed to rock and pop). its so much harder, this is very impressive :)

  • I wish I had no neighbors

  • great man! really enjoyed it. and the K Con's sound hot!

  • this is such a nice kit you got dude. i'm uber jealous. Is there a drumless track you used to play this? if so, can you send it to me please? I have to learn how it goes in 2 days so i can play a gig

  • hot!!

  • Hi, what genre of jazz would you call this, lounge jazz? I love this type of jazz music and also big band but since I am very young to the world of jazz music, the only jazz musicians I know are the big name drummers of jazz like max roach, buddy rich, louie bellson etc. I want to expand my musicality to know all the genres of music! :). Very nice playing btw

  • @joshkosh95 This is classic jazz (also named with mellow jazz, for example).

  • Nice!

  • awesome

  • Do you play in a band?

  • awesome.......great!!!!

  • Not bad man. Reminds me of playin a jazz gig with my giant gretsch kit. so far from you being selftuaght your really good. jazz id bout emotin and touch and feel and good sir you got it. eventhough i'm just a sophmore, i know my jazz. how much did the 22" K constatinople prototype and20" K constatinople med thin low bell run you up? those 2 sounds amazing.

  • @roflinmywaffle Thanks much, I purchased my Constantinoples used I think I paid 199 for the 20" and 349 for the 22"

  • @michaelcurtisjr How the hell did you get those prices???? I paid $400 for a 20" K Constantinople Meduim Thin Low

  • @JohnLBasak New!

  • Very nice dude. I have been drumming 30yrs. I know when I see good stuff. This is good stuff. Nice sound . Nice timing. You stayed in the groove and had quick hands. It's nice to finally see a drumming video on youtube that is not a land speed record attempt or 150,000 decibles. Every drummer worth his salt can play a massive loud solo at 150 mph. Thats not what its about. Its about PLAYING THE INSTRUMENT. You can dude. I was also self taught. Keep expanding your craft. Its worth it. Trust me.

  • @1976crp Thanks man! I appreciate all of your kind words. Its always nice to hear from people who are passionate about music ....as I am...

  • howd you get this with no drums?

  • @SickMyDuck594 I made it using Band In The Box. exported the MIDI file loaded it into DAW assign instruments to the parts....then record your drums!

  • @JakobsMovieTutorials Thanks man, I hope to get back to making some more videos soon. I'm still learning to play every day. Just keep with it, listen to the music you want to play and it will happen.

  • Hey mate, good stuff. Can you explain how you got, or made, this track minus the drums? It's a great version with solo's etc unlike Aebersold and other sax/piano made for stuff. Hard to find good drum play-alongs that feature good heads and solo's.

  • @bteniswood I made the track using Band in a Box. There is a file floating around that has all of the real book in BiB files. Bib has a solo generator.... so You just set the length and the solo length and it will generate a midi file that you can load into your DAW and assign virtual instruments to each of the midi " tracks" or instruments. Create your empty tracks for your drums and ....go for it.

  • man you're awesome

  • @cobywatkins Thanks man, I feel like just a regular guy though :) Seriously though thanks I'm glad that I can have some effect to help the greater good!

  • Thats a huge ride!

  • @CJNconor it's just a 22" :)

  • You're probably my favorite drummer to watch on Youtube, aside from the greats.

  • @vrdrums Thank you very much man, That's probably the coolest comment I've had. Seriously :)

  • Nice job man! good foot work.

  • @eedrum34 Thank you!

  • Where is the track from? Good playing :D

  • @ZackPomerleau Band In The Box generated the Midi Track then I just loaded it into logic :)

  • @michaelcurtisjr Ahhh cool! You're really good, though :) Self-taught or lessons?

  • @ZackPomerleau Self taught but was very active in school and outside groups. I never studied drums, but was exposed to excellent players and educators all of my life. I feel like it's all about playing with people who push you. I see young musicians coming up and I hear band band band I need to be in a band..... I'm like Practice......be the best player you can be. That always attracts good people to play with. Being in a band = making no money Being a "side guy" or a "session player" = money

  • @michaelcurtisjr I guess I should ask, how did you get the head into the song?

  • @ZackPomerleau There is a file floating around out there that someone transcribed the entire realbook into Band in the Box files.... So in that case the head was already in the file that I loaded. I am pretty sure that it isn't a product sold so it may be out there if you search for it... I may still have it too. I have been super busy with a few projects and haven't even had time to make any videos :( Keep buggin me and I'll find it...

  • This is excellent.

  • @Avedisdrummer09 Thanks bro!

  • do you know how many plies of wood does your toms and bass drum have? or how much does the thickness measure?

    thanks its sounds amazingly resonating

  • @soultrane9074 I want to say its 6 plys but I would check the Tama site to be sure! I love these drums they really do sing!

  • hey man i'd love to see something from dave brubeck quartet. great stuff.

  • That was amazing you think ubcould send me a playalong also you are an inspiration

  • @aukent as soon as I can get my gear set back up im happy to send it along.... Thanks for your comments PM me your email and I'll see what I can do!

  • you think you can send me the playalong? pleaseee :D

  • @JazzNaySean I can bro, but its gonna take a few days! I'm away from home and I just moved so most of my stuff is still unpacked....Including my studio gear.. I have been living on my laptop :)

  • @michaelcurtisjr that would be amazing man... dayumm well hopefuly u will get things unpacked soon so u can make more videos :DDD keep swangin man

  • Very Musically! Congratulations bro!!! that's the way everybody need to know how to play a RIDE CYMBAL in jazz style!! nice job!

  • @octaviocelsius Thanks bro really!

  • @octaviocelsius Thanks bro really!

  • nice. but now im sad cause my cymbals are crap compared to yours :(

  • @biddo97 everything in time. just don't sell any of your cymbals as you get them! you will be surprised how fast you can collect them! thanks man!

  • @biddo97 ya. i like my cymbals i guess its just my ride i dont like

  • @biddo97 I feel ya... I have 5 rides at this point... Gotta have all of the options :)

  • This is literally my favorite kit set up i've seen. Love the style man. keep the vids coming.

  • @abucket888 I have been messing around tweeking I seem to like this setup too! It's funny I have a few friends in my area that are drummers. They don't like it once they sit down :) too tight for them. I broke my right arm real bad just above the elbow in 2004 in a motorcycle accident so I try to keep the right side of my kit as tight as possible as it is easier for me to get around and reach the ride :) Thanks again man!

  • @michaelcurtisjr i'm with you man, i keep my kit pretty tight as well. it gets to the point of my right leg rubbing between my snare and floor tom.lol

  • @abucket888 Me too....LOL but the way i see it the tighter it is the easier and more effortless it is to play. I'm a huge Gadd fan. I look at some of his setups. quite a bit of space between everything except maybe the hi hat and snare. I guess if you look at that along with his style of phasing it works. I wouldn't set up like that. Of coarse I'm no Steve Gadd :)

  • Quick and dirty playalong! Huge help and thanks for doing this for me! Great playing! THANKS!!! :)

  • @NostalgicProcrast Anytime bud! Hope it helps in some way! and thanks too!

  • love this bro, jazz is such a great style of music and is so underrated these days thanks to justin bieber and the jonas brothers

  • @killingmanbearpig I agree for the most part :) but we still need the Justin Biebers out there adding to the credibility of jazz! Without them where's the arguement! Thanks man!

  • @michaelcurtisjr haha yeah totally

  • Simply fantastic.

  • Simply fantastic.

  • @Ignitionator Thanks bro!
