I think the youtuber wanted to debunk THAT criticism.

I think no1 questions Yngwies technique or emotion, at least i hope so. But the problem to me is how he applies his licks. Like to me the arpeggios at 0:16-0:18 are not fitting at all. And the feeling that he throws those arpeggios and brutal fast passages so randomly makes me listen only to particular licks from Yngwies songs, i skip the rest.

You can't really say a musician is playing "with emotion." Look at a guitar god like Yngwie. The fact that he took the time and dedication to become so masterful at the guitar is all the emotion he needs to show and all the emotion that needs to be more noticed and appreciated. People think "emotion" is acting while playing and making faces that "feel" like the particular notes. Any real musician knows what emotion is. It's the music and the dedication itself.
I agree. Many non musicians think non rhythmic playing is just cold and emotionless and rhythmic solos has more of it. The thought is just absurd. It takes a great deal of dedication and hard word to get that good as Yngwie, Vai, or Shawn Lane. It pains me that people dismiss them, just because they play ''fast''.

Yngwie has the blood line.Rising force is the greatest guitar album I have heard yet. I have always loved his music. I appologize to yngwie for saying to others that he's more focused on being a rock star these days. I guess when you are famous you become the target. I'm so sick of everyone saying that he doesn't play with emotion. The man couldn't devote his life to this if his emotions in it. Why can't you accept that he expresses them differently? He started a whole new movement, obviously the way he uses guitar to express himself is different. Music isn't just about the listener, its also about the musician getting out the music in his head and getting out his emotions and understanding them. If you don't get this then you are obviously not a musician...

@silversteinatwork being a good musician is portraying emotion effectively, ie conversation without words... even if there's lyrics, you don't have to listen to them/understand them... I don't speak french or italian (well enough) but I can still understand Edith Piaf or Cynthia Hawkins perfectly... All I hear with Yngwie, is how much he likes his guitar... that's where I think people aren't "appreciating" it... It doesn't really speak to me, personally, and I'm a guitarist...

i mean, she he is a good guitar player, but dont you think he is forcing his ability to play scales and arpeggios into his songs as a form of expressing emotions? i'm sure he could play some mean licks and bend notes, but as soon as i hear 59 notes in two seconds, i'm GONNA QUESTION IF HE IS REALLY PLAYING FOR THE SENTIMENTAL LISTENER.

Yngwie does play with emotion... a whole lot of emotion, but his runs are very cold and have no emotion. I went to see Yngwie about 10 years ago, after the first 3 or 4 songs I was done, even when he played REDHOUSE it was all sweep arpegio runs. he really ruined a great song.

You can't really say a musician is playing "with emotion." Look at a guitar god like Yngwie. The fact that he took the time and dedication to become so masterful at the guitar is all the emotion he needs to show and all the emotion that needs to be more noticed and appreciated. People think "emotion" is acting while playing and making faces that "feel" like the particular notes. Any real musician knows what emotion is. It's the music and the dedication itself.

I agree. Many non musicians think non rhythmic playing is just cold and emotionless and rhythmic solos has more of it. The thought is just absurd. It takes a great deal of dedication and hard word to get that good as Yngwie, Vai, or Shawn Lane. It pains me that people dismiss them, just because they play ''fast''.

Yngwie has the blood line.Rising force is the greatest guitar album I have heard yet. I have always loved his music. I appologize to yngwie for saying to others that he's more focused on being a rock star these days. I guess when you are famous you become the target. I would love for him to do an album like that again.Forget the money, the adulation and realize again that great art is timeless.Peace to you yngwie.
