  • I think the reason for this title is because critics believe while hes undeniably talented at playing many notes/scales/arpeggios etc. really fast, THATS all he does. He is sometimes seen as this souless 1 dimensional robot shredder who lacks any real emotion and lacks the ability to write great songs that uplift and moves the listeners, and that grand musical composition takes a backseat to his one trick pony act of speedy guitar. I think the youtuber wanted to debunk THAT criticism.

  • i bet his hands are itching to shred some diminished arpeggios.....its very tough to play slow at his level......

  • This is matter of like Yngwie or not. If you dont`t like him you will vote -1, if u like you vote +1,

there are no other arguments in this discussion. I`m affraid that people who don`t like Yngwie probably even don`t like sweedish people becouse he born there....

  • @FanNeoclassicalMetal Oh yeah because that statement makes a fuckloead of sense.

  • @FanNeoclassicalMetal Uh LMAO ur stupid

  • @FanNeoclassicalMetal you should probably just live by yourself in the woods. It will be safer for everyone this way.

  • I think the video title is a rebuttal to the many people who say Yngwie has no emotion in his playing. It's not saying in this one occasion he did, and normally doesnt.

  • Of course he plays with emotion on this song, well infact, he does on every song, you just can't feel it if you don't think he's playing with emotion. He wrote this to his brother after he died.

  • He wears spandex lol

  • I just love the title... LOL :D

  • emotion? where?

  • @awfulguitarplucker Take some time to study a bit on consonance and dissonance.. maybe a little counterpoint.. then re access your position on his emotion.

  • Great solo, thanks for posting. Malmsteen's one of the greatest guitar players who has changed the music forever.

  • this is an amazing solo. holy crap.

  • fuck this is good

  • What a stupid title...

  • @AngilasGuy what about "Yngwie plays Amberdawn with backing track" ?

  • I LOVE STEVE VAI!!!

  • itryed playing those cut away frets on that guitar once , my friend order that model. but none of us could get use to that so he send it back.

  • le guitar virtuoso yngwie fatsteen.

  • The best track from the best album of Yngwie.

  • This is the first time I liked his tone

  • Rofl I already knew what I would find in this video. Playing slow = emotion ? Apparently the uploader thinks so. You guys should seriously study music. As previously mentioned by struvah, when does he NOT play with emotion?

  • Yngwie has said that speed in classical music express emotions. He's got own style without doubt and i think he plays with emotions

  • what the fuck did carlopsca say god damn it

  • @angilasguy not even the music is way more important than the persons attitude. I think Van halen is a huge tool with a fan constantly blowing his hair around but he melts my face off, and thats what i like.

  • DURR HURR THIS GUY PLAY WITH EMOTION MORE THAN THIS GUY

Shut up and go eat a fucking snack or something.

  • @trinoply

hahahahahahahahahaha LLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL THATS IT! SHOWING THEM WITHOUT BAD WORDS! WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU IN THE WORLD! OH DARN, I FORGOT TO TURN OF CAPS LOCK AGAIN... thats better!

  • @MultiDaGuy soooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooo truUUUUUUUUUue!

  • @MultiDaGuy

OH NO I SAID A BAD WORD OH MY GOOOOOOOOD.

CALL THE COPS YNGWIE IS OFFENDED

  • @trinoply relax man, i was just making a joke, i dont have anything against them, i just find it hard to find people that dont use as much ¨ bad words¨ nowadays

  • @MultiDaGuy Too bad I am much more hardcore than you.

  • @trinoply yeah, okay...

  • Love this piece of music. I think every musician evokes emotion through their instruments in their own way. Malmsteen doesn't cater to everyone's musical tastes, but there's no denying that he's one of the world's finest guitarists :)

  • I think Yngwie plays with the most emotion. I don't get people that say he doesn't. He is inspired a lot by the romantic era of music, which was kinda the point, art that ran on pure emotion and made very grand. Yes, of course he has an ego, but to be fair, if any one of you had his talent, so would you.

  • @l35tat 2 things. One - He playing with the most emotion is the stupidest shit I've ever heard. Go listen to Jason Becker or Shawn Lane. You're change you mind right away, believe me. Two - If I had his talent, I definitely wouldn't be a total jackass and show off around. That's so primitive and stupid. Just because I do something better than others doesn't mean it gives me the right to show off and to act like I'm superior to others. Please, if you wanna THINK, think straight cause that's bull.

  • @jimmyleppard6 Oh I listen to those guys and I do love Jason Becker, ok maybe saying the MOST emotion was an over exaggeration. Second, you're getting on at him FOR having an ego, hence saying you're better than him, so you don't even have the talent but already you're trying to prove you're a better person than him (and me by trying to strip down my opinion, opinion, ever hear of that ?) and superior to him for apparently "not having an ego".

  • @jimmyleppard6 if you want emotion you should check out andy timmons as well

  • @MysterioFan02 you really think I don't know about him? LOL, man. I like his groove or die and carpe diem songs. When it comes to emotions, he's better than yngwie aswell.

  • The sick bastards who think that facial expression, how much a person opens his mouth or twists it while playing an instrument shows his love and devotion towards music should visit a nearby mental health care center. Feelings dwell in heart and not in faces. What you hear from the instrument is what the artist feels. Yngwie is a great guitarist. Respect him!

  • a man of his his advanced age should not be dressed in tights he looks like an old women pirate hooker

  • @guitarreilly That was great!! Hehe Pirate hooker

  • The studio version of this song is great. It is really one of Malmsteen's best instrumentals.

  • When does he NOTplay with emotion?

  • @struvah I agree with you 110%. It's not like fast playing somehow diminishes the emotion in it.

  • @struvah I just just going to say the same,he has always played with a lot of emotion

  • @struvah whenever he plays at all. This guy is the ultimate turd player from the shred era

  • @struvah like always? almost non of the things he plays is with emotion lol

  • @struvah people just can't hear the emotion bc his lightning fast playing has not only melted there faces off. But blown there minds completely!! But in all seriousness if you slowed down most of his playing it's very emotional and expressive.

  • @struvah alike, always?

  • @struvah it's the internet : slow = emotion, fast = wanker/no emotion

  • @struvah erm.... usually?

  • @struvah all the time

  • thumbs up if u were completely expecting rick astley

  • @jmko7 HA!!! i was waiting to get rolled lmao

  • all that hard work.....

  • @carlopsca Does it matter bro? You know, many artists are just as pretentious as he is, but don't show it. I think artist's personality should not influence the way you judge his art. It's independant.

But after all, if you had his talent and worked many years to reach his level, wouldn't you show off?

    I honestly think I would ;)!

  • Comment removed

  • yngwie plays ALWAYS with emotion.this is my opinion.if you appreciate his style you can you feel the emotion.

  • Brothers, one of the best emotive song for Mr.Malmsteen.Play it Loud!!!

  • Comment removed

  • i gdzie kurwa te emocje? Where is this emotion?! ;p

  • the title is misleading

  • martlac kargi shesrulebaa niiiiiin

  • id like to hear more delay, more reverb and more compression

  • yngwie always plays with emotion and that emotion is "fuck you I'm a viking"

  • Brothers is a fantastic track. Just a great guitar player could create a song like :)

  • @mikenroses escuchen el adagio albinoni.. listen adagio albinoni

  • if you can't even play what he's playing, shut your mouth about his playing. if you've never spoken face to face with him, it is incorrect to make assumptions about his attitude based on what you've seen in the media.

  • @fullyprimed Oh, because you abviously know him better than anybody else.

Everybody KNOWS that Yngwie is egotistical and megalomaniac. Still a great artist.

  • @PsyloActiv No, I say that because I don't know him. You know what I mean?

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • @carlopsca

Dunno if I would agree with the attitude being more important than the music. However, you're totally right, he's an egotistical dickbag sometimes.

  • @AngilasGuy

I heard the exact opposite from people who've met him....

  • BONER.

  • All music is played with emotion, music is a way of expressing emotion, any slight change in emotion will change the way music is played (even only slightly), hence anyone who says that someone saying that someone plays without emotion is making a completely redundant point.

  • people who say malmsteen has no feelings...

    GET EARS!

  • Que grande el gordo! y pensar que es muy criticado por tocar a los mil pedos sin sentir la musica que interpreta. Es su propio estilo, lo mejor es disfrutar de los virtuosos mientras podamos. Punto final.

  • The emotions he expresses utilizes at least 2 notes more than most (that would be 40% more, I believe). Add the blue notes to that (which he uses) and he's tapping into at least 4 notes more than most guitar players use in their solos. Malmsteen has no soul? Well then neither did Bach or Mozart. If you disagree, then simply put, your soul is not as evolved.

  • Yngwie Is A Beast, I laugh my ass off when people say he plays with no feeling.

yjm started all this neo classical shredin and look at his perfect vibrato's and bends his solo's are all master pieces in my opinion...... YJM IS KING.

  • who is this song???

  • Yngwie has huge feel in his playing. His bends and his vibrato are top notch, and the "no emotion" comments are because he plays with melody rather than using lame pentatonic blues/box licks.

  • Hate him, this just builds on it. He can play yes, compose no.

  • @JusticeHunterKiller What's wrong with his compositions?

  • @MrJuico1337 It sounds like he is trying too hard to impress ppl, a bit of a show boat. Take Steve Vai for example, he plays because he enjoys to. Not for ppl to say he is the best (Which he is). Plus he is trying to use ever skill he knows in 1 song, chalk and cheese dont mix if you know what i mean. Listen to Vai and you will understand.

  • @JusticeHunterKiller I know what Vai sounds like. And shredding like this is hardly impressive nowadays, every fag who's been shredding for like 5 years or so can play a Yngwie song, if he was just out to impress people, I'm sure he'd don a guitar more like that 4 neck that Batio uses, he certainly has the skill to master such an instrument.

  • @MrJuico1337 Skill and Master should not be used in the same sentance as Yngwie.

  • @JusticeHunterKiller Faggot, you can't even spell sentence, shut the fuck up.

  • @MrJuico1337 Ooooow so sorry. Typos happen. I bet if Yngwie asked you'd suck his cock. Now who's the faggot bitch. Go run to daddy cus u know shit about music.

  • @MrJuico1337 Little Bitch.

  • @JusticeHunterKiller Steve plays because he enjoys to? Well no shit! And Yngwie doesn't?? Anyone who played 10 hours a day, every day in their formative years certainly enjoys playing.

  • I'm so sick of everyone saying that he doesn't play with emotion. The man couldn't devote his life to this if his emotions in it. Why can't you accept that he expresses them differently? He started a whole new movement, obviously the way he uses guitar to express himself is different. Music isn't just about the listener, its also about the musician getting out the music in his head and getting out his emotions and understanding them. If you don't get this then you are obviously not a musician...

  • @silversteinatwork being a good musician is portraying emotion effectively, ie conversation without words... even if there's lyrics, you don't have to listen to them/understand them... I don't speak french or italian (well enough) but I can still understand Edith Piaf or Cynthia Hawkins perfectly... All I hear with Yngwie, is how much he likes his guitar... that's where I think people aren't "appreciating" it... It doesn't really speak to me, personally, and I'm a guitarist...

  • He's brilliant. That's all.

  • i mean, she he is a good guitar player, but dont you think he is forcing his ability to play scales and arpeggios into his songs as a form of expressing emotions? i'm sure he could play some mean licks and bend notes, but as soon as i hear 59 notes in two seconds, i'm GONNA QUESTION IF HE IS REALLY PLAYING FOR THE SENTIMENTAL LISTENER.

  • @sinprelic Maybe we should question whether Hendrix really cared about the listener and he only wanted to show of his great riffs. Or maybe Malmsteen shows his passion and emotion in his own way. Just because you can't channel that emotion don't mean he ain't got it.

  • @ProtestAgainstWhores hendrix was not for the sentimental type, either..

  • @sinprelic Either way Malmsteen shows emotion.

  • @ProtestAgainstWhores yes, i conceded that point already. a very unorthodox way of showing emotion, but emotion nonetheless

  • @sinprelic Indeed. Yes.

  • This sucks.

  • Yngwie does play with emotion... a whole lot of emotion, but his runs are very cold and have no emotion. I went to see Yngwie about 10 years ago, after the first 3 or 4 songs I was done, even when he played REDHOUSE it was all sweep arpegio runs. he really ruined a great song.

  • @angilasguy...you're absolutely correct...Malmsteen is just a kids bicycle compared with the masters...my bad!

@fjcpinheiro...what he is trying to accomplish is to be know as one of the very first to combine classical ( listen to his arpeggios ) with rock rhythm...so yes, you can say that I'm...or he is trying to compare himself as to one of the classical masters

    !

  • @angilasguy...you're absolutely correct...Malmsteen is just a kids bicycle compared with the masters...my bad!

  • @solidpnoy

You're comparing apples to bicycles, bro.

  • @AngilasGuy lol

  • @AngilasGuy apples taste better then bicycles do.

  • @solidpnoy dude, wtf! are you comparing a guitar player to classical composers? really? omfg dude, it's two completely different things! wtf! lol! it's like comparing ozzy osbourne to steve-f.ucking-jobs. lol.

  • @solidpnoy and what the fuck are you , a nobody , like 99 percent of the population , atleast hes got somewhere and is admired by undoubtedly millions , prick

  • Yngwie unleashed teh fookin' fury on 10 people left with bleeding assholes

  • others just shred, Malmsteen plays with feeling...

  • Is this an improvised piece? Or is this one of his songs?

  • @ninesilverguns It's Brothers, from his 1994 album Seventh Sign

  • Did he just rip-off Mr. T?

  • ISTO SIM QUE É TOCAR COM EMOÇAO...........

  • "This is the art to shred, it's only emotion"

  • if you wanna play like him, you do need a teacher, no way..... i can show you one of the best... ask me by email :)

  • @fafaffu2

the best teacher is your ear !

  • @guitarfreak23397 5 days ago or so i heard it's the metronome.... anyway, yours is a good point, probably you can already play guitar very well :)... however i was talking about a person a guy who's the best in teaching to play the guitar... Cheers :)

  • @fafaffu2

metronome? lol. no metronome is the best friend in practicing :)

i can play but not good as i wish could. and really what are possible ways that someone lives somewhere near him? webcam lessons mostly sucks

  • yeah really emotional, esspeciialy with the constant shredding in between, the guy is good but man that shredding is anoying as fuck.thats why i prefer blackmore.

  • Wow!!!!!

  • speechless

  • The name of this song is 'brothers'...its on his magnum opus album.

  • J'aime!!! quelle émotion dans sa manière de jouer, c'est vraiment trop beau!

  • 2:05 What exactly was that, some very classy tremolo picking? Or just a flaw in the video? Nevertheless, it fits. Great video, thank you.

  • 10 shit gay

  • Did he just wake up or is he drunk?

  • @golboni Probably both somehow.

  • @JohnFiaschetti All music has emotion, whether it's noticeable or not. It's cliche to say this but, you just gotta listen. Cause there's plenty of emotion, you're just not opening your mind up, and you won't understand much about music unless you do so. So stop trolling on something you clearly don't understand.

  • whats the name of this song?

  • You can't really say a musician is playing "with emotion." Look at a guitar god like Yngwie. The fact that he took the time and dedication to become so masterful at the guitar is all the emotion he needs to show and all the emotion that needs to be more noticed and appreciated. People think "emotion" is acting while playing and making faces that "feel" like the particular notes. Any real musician knows what emotion is. It's the music and the dedication itself.

  • @SpahSappinMahSentry1

I agree. Many non musicians think non rhythmic playing is just cold and emotionless and rhythmic solos has more of it. The thought is just absurd. It takes a great deal of dedication and hard word to get that good as Yngwie, Vai, or Shawn Lane. It pains me that people dismiss them, just because they play ''fast''.

  • @SpahSappinMahSentry1 EXACTLY! FUCK! HOW COME SO MANY IDIOTS DONT FUCKING UNDERSTAND THAT!

  • his fingers are playing with emotion his face says "fuck this is boring"

  • He doesn't have finger, but SAUSAGE

  • Just because he bends and occasionally stops on notes doesn't mean he plays with much emotion. He's still pretty much heartless as a player.

  • @JohnFiaschetti just because he has a completely different musical view than your closed minded melody directions doesn't make him a heartless player.

  • some people think emotion is playing slow with lots of bending, the truth is they cant catch up with yngwies speed so they hear nothing, its like talking very fast and people dont know what you are saying so the just go blah2

  • Yngwie has the blood line.Rising force is the greatest guitar album I have heard yet. I have always loved his music. I appologize to yngwie for saying to others that he's more focused on being a rock star these days. I guess when you are famous you become the target. I would love for him to do an album like that again.Forget the money, the adulation and realize again that great art is timeless.Peace to you yngwie.

  • @chaosmos1971 Dude I'm with you Rising Force is truly one of my all time favorites. Another one that's up there Richie Kotzens first album. The thing is just sick.. have you heard that one?

  • @chaosmos1971 i could not agree more...the problem is he lost his masterful ability to create exceptional music because he focused too much on publicity.(which in return backfired and people lost interest in him quickly) a master such as him should know better than that...i can't event ouch his later work sadly..

  • Hey, folks, doesn't this sound just like Gary Moore's "Loner"? Check it out!!!!

  • BROTHER!!

  • Yngwie plays always with emotion ;)

  • he's a fantastic guitar player, bu5t arrogant. and the scalloped fret board is a PAIN to play on

  • u rock!!

  • Sorry guys but I cracked up when i saw this video title in the related videos lol...

  • oh my goodness his tone really makes me want to cry....too bad he appears to be kindof a tool

  • @aseabsolute Well your spider sense must be tingling, because your right. He is a tool.

  • yngwie is the man!!!

  • I'm dying in here ... but I can't stop listening to it ... O.M.G!!!!

  • can someone please tell me what is the name of this instrumental, i wanna get a backing track for it. thanks :)

  • @ubershredder1989

The song is called Brothers. Its off his Seventh Sign album

  • @romeodlyte thank you!

  • @ubershredder1989

    brothers

  • yngwie has 48-8 strings

  • Not many players can do what this fine swede can. Vi älskar Yngwie Malmsteen,

  • GW bangetzzzz gitu lowwwwwwhh...

  • that is truely from the <3

  • I listen to this every day just because it just gives you a fuckin feeling so undescribl it just makes you wonder....

  • I've heard Yngwie uses 8 gauges and tunes a half step down. Is this true i am just curious.
