Love-hate relationship was all about: The lighter wolf was establishing his position, higher than the wolf that was nipping under his chin, Nipping beneath the chin can be seen as an affectionate gesture, showing love and loyalty at the same time.

It's quite majestic to see captive wolves doing that.
