sykkelen er nå gul med kvass kam, mikuni forgasser og K&N filter...så XT motor er ikke noe jeg lengter etter......

Gult er kult..! Leste et sted at SR har samme grunnmotor som XT, men det er tatt ut betydelig mindre effekt.. XT'en har også 4- ventiltopp, Sånn ellers har nok du bedre peiling enn meg på Yamaha- motorer.. Har Suzuki GS jeg.. ;-)

SR har samme grunnmotor som XT 500 fra 1976. Men de har begge kun 2 ventiler. Innsug og eksos. XT'en har og kun 27HK i forhold til min 78 modell SR som har 33. Slik min er trimmet nå så har jeg ca 42-45HK på motoren. Forskjellen på disse motorene er vel slaglengden, antall HK og XT motoren er svart. XT 550 som kom noen år senere har 4 ventiler. Likeså XT600. Har selv en 93 modell XT600E som er en veldig grei sykkel.

Hey bikerdude. I have a sr400 with supertrapp exhaust but my exhaust bracket broke. Am I up shit creek unless I can weld something on to it?

I guess it depends were it broke and if you have the part that broke off. I would try welding it first. If not i think there are several exhaust you can get from USA or maybe Canada? You could try the SR forum. Lots of Canadians there and plenty of dudes with knowledge about the SR!

For the SR 500 i use Kedo in Germany. Or Vanem in Australia. Lots of parts in both places.

I have a White Bros headpipe (high mount) and Super Trapp on my XT500. Sounds something like that does.....same motor after all. I have in "uncorked" now, but usually run all 12 plates on it. Love the sound of those YamaThumpers!!

Hehe. Im not really sure. But i think its between 7 or 9. I now have a supersound exhaust from Japan mounted. Its not as loud but looks better. Hoping to post clip as soon as i have fixed a engine noise i dont like. Now it sounds awful :(

I love YAMAHA SR. It's good feel and good sound!!! It's no problem...Can not run fast.

Yes a SR 400 or 500 feels very good and the sound is great. Last summer i got my first ever speeding ticket with my TRX 850. That will proberly never happen with my SR 500!!
