I'm 21 and a Georgian that works at a local feed store where coworkers claim to be "southern" "whitetrash" "rednecks," whatever. I made a Waylon Jennings reference today, and they didn't get it. Okay right? They're teenagers, they're not totally up to date. Understander-able, so I thought.

I tried to explain it to them - turns out, they don't even know who he was! Do they not have parents? Or grandparents? Or anyone with southern heritage?
