Just because things can cause symptoms CAN cause symptoms, it's illogical to think they, therefore, have caused those symptoms

No! you refer to, Johnny Chen, who met Prof Liu Janlun, from Guangzhou, who infected at least 79 other people, at the Metropole Hotel He died March 4th, his brother-in-law died a week later. Sars was in Guangzhou in 11-2002. Ask the WTO.
