  • Once you entered the price, how did you get the Total section to calculate??? It didnt automatically do it for me ??

  • I'm entering the data on a spreadsheet while I watch this. The vertical formulas are working fine but I'm not getting the totals in the total column. It's remaining as '0'. Any help is appreciated. Great video and series!

I like the step by step but can you show the short cut too.

  • it messed up on screws price and stuff but it got the name right whats wrong

  • Most made mistake while working with vlookup is that excel sees numbers as text. And then vlookup doesnt work you need to change text to columns.

  • Hey! I had been using your tutorial from the basic excel to vlookup! and this is EXCELLENT!

  • Thx! V Good Tutorial

  • Its really use full for me,,, thanks alot,,

  • good tutorial. could u pls tell me is there any reason you wouldnt just always name the table in second part of the formula (table_array) when using vlookup

  • Hi. Thanks for the feedback. This video covers the basics of setting up a VLOOKUP calculation. Naming the data table - or table array - is covered in parts 2 & 3 of this video series. And yes, you're correct, it is a good idea to name the table.

  • Thanks very much for the reply.

could i ask you why would there be three brackets at the end of this formula. Is it because there is two value if true conditions and one if false

    =IF((AND(D2>5,C2>10000)),3,(IF((OR(D2>5,C2>10000)),2,1)))

  • @MotionTraining Hi! I have been following all your tutorials, but I got the problem in putting formula especially if I press the F4, in my pc, it doesn´t work. I did exactly the way you did, I even followed your sample several times, but it really doesn´t get the same outcome as yours. After putting all the formulas, the F4 and so on, but then, when pressing enter, the result in my pc appears as if no readable answer. Is there any other way how to input a formula into it wihout the use of F4?

  • At last! A clear and concise explanation of Excel, something I've been searching for for years. Thank you... I am not worthy bow :-)

  • Help, I am trying to match ssn's from two spreadsheet w/n a workbook, I've put the columns in ascending order, format to text, and I do every thing exactly as you describe in your example and the cell ends up displaying the formula. What am I doing wrong? I created a spreadsheet to mirror yours on the tutorial and it works, so I am not sure what I am doing wrong on the spreadsheet with the ssn's.

  • Thanks for the post - very helpful and my wife likes the sound of your voice!...... easy tiger.

  • thsnx 4 ur videos its been very useful to me. i learn a lot of things from u.tell me how can type a number which start from zero.i used to do it but it gives me only the number without the zero in it. thanx.

  • press the apostrophe key before typing the number. For example: '007

  • thankyou, excellent tutorial style and very, very helpful :-)

  • I have Excel 2003 and f4 doesn't do anything, help please.

  • Hi. Pressing F4 to apply the '$' signs for an absolute reference works in all versions of Excel. Open a blank workbook and, with A1 selected, type '=' then click any cell (apart from A1) and press the F4 key. If the '$' signs don't appear in the formula bar then your F4 key is not working!

  • @loveseekingmissile: i don't know if this helps but you have to press f4 after you select the reference cells and BEFORE you hit enter or click elsewhere..

  • very useful and helpful tutorial, thanks!

  • thanks!

  • 非常感谢!!!
