  • Does anyone know if you can buy a powerblock 90 expansion for the powerblock elite 50? i've been doing p90x with bands and those are getting pretty annoying so i was gonnna buy these instead of a bunch of dumbbells. I was gonna get the powerblock 50's so that I wouldn't have to spend $700 dollars right off the bat on the powerblock 90's and I could just upgrade once i feel the need to if that makes sense lol. FYI i'm 190 right now.

  • @kkeyfish I don't think you're able to upgrade them, although that would be pretty awesome. You can also like at the bayou fitness dumbbells. I think they're a new brand, but they received decent ratings on Amazon.

  • those 2 bars are for wrist curls

  • These look like crap. I was hoping for a more cost affective alternative to bowflex but this aint it.

  • LOL what a piece of junk just stick with normal dumbell WTF my 10$ walmart spinlock dumbell has served me well for the past 5 years. The only thing these blocks will make bigger is your ego.

  • @Trajiq187 You purchased a pair of adjustable dumbbells that vary in weight between 5 and 50 pounds, adjusting in 5 pound increments for $10.00?

  • Which one is better? The sport or classic? Still deciding which is which.

  • @iBlobs23 This is the only set of Powerblocks I have used. I would checkout reviews on Amazon. :)

  • @iBlobs23 I tried the "sport" version at a fitness store, and the grip on those ifs very awkward, the classic ones felt like an average dumbbell, once you get past the look of them.

  • How much do they go for

  • @forerealz What did I say in my video? $300 - $400, I believe. It's been awhile. Lol, but it depends where you look. I would go to Dicks. They had the best deal I could find.

  • I should get mine soon !

  • @globo321 Good :) They're awesome.

  • superb!

  • hey man just got mine in unboxing them atm so far first one they looook reallllyyyy good lets go p90x

  • you bought them, or you parents bought them for you?

your just like the milk in my fridge.............spoiled !!!!!!!!

  • @pinchyobuttcheek I LOVE people that have no clue what they're talking about. I BOUGHT THEM WITH MY OWN MONEY. It's called blogging, broski. I also got myself a new laptop. My suggestion; If you don't know what you're talking about, don't say shit.

  • @tnafguy no problem i really dont think these r the best, like a lot of ppl say they are bt to each his own

  • These look all right, but those Ironmaster dumbells just look much better.

  • @BarefootArizona I have never used the Ironmaster dumbbells. They go up to 75 pounds though, right?

  • @professionalblogger Yup. You can also get an extension which goes up to 125 per dumbell. I've already made up my mind. They're on ebay for 600 with shipping. The powerblocks are nice however, and they're made in The USA. So either one seems legit, imo.

  • @BarefootArizona The cool thing about Powerblock is the 10-year warranty. But yeah. 75 pound dumbbells... You should never need more than that... Unless you plan on getting really, really buff.

  • @professionalblogger Hey bro i really like your vids do you mind putting an update video on how these lasted over the year? I would greatly appreciate it!

  • @GreekGotSwag Hey, man. They're basically brand new. No problems at all, man. My camera on the otherhand... Yeah. It has a problem of freezing in the middle of my videos lol

  • @professionalblogger Thanks to you i convinced my dad to get me these with his amex rewards =) if you get a new camera can u do update vid on these

  • @GreekGotSwag yeah man for sure. :)

  • @professionalblogger Hey man i got one more question would these be a good pushup bar for p90x? i only weigh 125 lbs

  • @GreekGotSwag Pushup stands? Powerblocks do work as pushup stands, but not if you have really big wrists. I just tried it (never have before) lol, but just for you, I tried using them, and they worked great. Head over to Dicks Sporting Goods, and you can test them out usually :)

  • @professionalblogger HEY BRO THANKS I APPRECIATE IT I GUESS I DONT need to get push up bars one final question on wide fly push ups are you able to do them?

  • @GreekGotSwag Am I able to do them in general? Or am I able to do them with the Powerblocks?

  • @professionalblogger Wide flys with power blocks I'm wondering if bars would affect or hit your rise as you lower?

  • @GreekGotSwag I was able to do wide fly just fine. I just went and checked for you. Lol. The only note that I should make is that the inside of your wrist will be touching the padded part of the weight. (Which doesn't bother me, but it might you or others) Also, I have small wrists, so just be aware of that.

  • @tnafguy I am pretty gentle with these dumbbells...I have NEVER had a single problem with these dumbbells. No close calls. No injuries. Nothing breaking. No problems whatsoever.

  • Totally agree with the space option. I have limited space to have to deal with 3 to 4 different weight dumbells, 6 to 8 dumbells laying around the floor , umm no way.

  • dam right ur not Brock Lesner i can see that! one thing is to work out at a regular gym n other work out to buil serious muscle just saying so other ppl know

  • it seems that evrybody hates on the old fashion spinlock dumbbells bt they r not that bad if u dont believe me check out this guy scooby on his channel he set up his own gym with cheap dumbbells , if u have the money i suggest ironmaster quick lock dumbbells good quality n tough, if u just want to tone i guess these powerblocks do the trick not good for serious bodybuilding , to each his own.

  • not to b a hater bt these dumbbells do suck! a friend of mine had them and they felt very weird in the hands n unconfortable as hell , for this guy i can see it works hes skinny but me n my friend we r bulkier evry time we dropped these dumbbells on the floor not even that hard the dam things would fall apart ! so he sent them back if u wanna build serious muscle thes r not good at all if ur doing that p90x shit then ur okay

  • @waltergq I'm sorry to hear that you had a negative experience, but just so other people know, I have used these dumbbells for regular gym workouts as well, and they work just fine for me. Could be because I am skinnier, though. I'm not Brock Lesnar, so I wouldn't know. Lol.

  • @waltergq I don't drop my weights because Im not a real bodybuilder. :(

  • @waltergq dude what are u talking about I have the u 90's (urethane model) and their awesome. i've worked out with gym dumbbells and i prefer these. Also im a big bulky guy (275) and these are perfect. also p90x is a great program so stfu.

  • @65impact u dont know wut ur talking about prolly never even grabbed a dumbbell in ur whole life, ur just mad cause ur 275lb boyfriend dont let use his light 90lb powerblocks so STFU and stop trolling on ppl just GTFO u dam pillow biter lmao!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @waltergq next time u try to make a come back make sure you use proper grammar you stupid fucktard. Also my set goes up to 125lbs per dumbbell, and i'm probably in better shape than your fat ass so STFU! You probably go to the gym once a week and walk on the treadmill and u think you're a bad-ass lmfao

  • @65impact oh seems i hit a nerve on u fag! by the way no one uses proper grammar u moron this is youtube, so now its 125lb dumbbells ah! clearly ur making shit up just go suck ur boyfriends u buttslammer! lmfao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @waltergq clearly you are an even bigger dumbass than i thought lol... You can buy an extension from the 90 that takes them to 125lbs per dumbbell you fucking idiot. Also with all the homophobic comments you keep saying makes me think that someone needs to come outta the closet you flaming cock sucker, i bet secretly u take it up the ass lol... keep up ur lame ass comebacks i need a good laugh!

  • @65impact just stfu!! u fucking homo now ur telling me ur whole story trying to pin it on me, its ok if ur gay dont feel bad if u take it up the ass not judging u im just saying so there u go since u love my comebacks why dont u get a fucking life!!

  • those fucking dumbells look fucking stupied as hell just go too sears and get the old time dumbell set they cost 40 bucks and they rule

  • @boxing101ize Who cares if they "look" stupid, bro... You're not buying them to look at them... Are you? I sure as hell wouldn't spend $300.00 to look at a kick ass pair of dumbbells. As for the "old time dumbbell set" at Sears, there is no way in hell you can even come close to what the Powerblocks have to offer you by spending $40.00. Do you know how expensive a single dumbbell even is, brother?

  • @boxing101ize Lol your "stupied" as hell too

  • dude i need your help i bought these and its jammed idk the tweezer thingys went into the wrong slot i guess and is stuck now any ideas

  • @B3rtM4n I would need to be there. Go to my site: 91 Day Challenge. On 91 day challenge, you will see a facebook icon. "Like" my page, and then post on the wall. I will add you as a friend, and we can talk there more about the situation in detail.

  • I'm a smaller guy. 160lb. Trying to gain about 20lbs of muscle. I don't know much about lifting but you don't think I'd max out on the classic 50's too soon do you? Maybe its a dumb question. I just don't know what to do considering you can buy added weight for this model.

  • @KOOZKOOZ323 can't buy added weight*

  • Ow and doing the tricep like that puts too much strain on your wrist, if you're training heavy ofcourse.

  • Those pins are plastic? I saw another powerblock review and the pins there were from steel.

  • im gonna go buy these so i can start my p90x

  • i wish i could get these, but after i come back from vacation im getting a couple new handles for my weight plates. but the handles im getting are spin locks so at least thats not as annoying as screw clamps (one of which i broke from tightening the screw too much)

  • @Ir0nF1st924 Spin locks suck, they never stay tight

  • what are the dimensions of these ?

  • really massive wrists lmaooo

  • have you tried doing tricep extension (2 hands) with this, how awkward is it grabing on the two handles?

  • Getting the 90 pound set is going to save you about $600 if you were to get a set of each dumbbell from 5 - 90 pounds. Plus you have the option to go to 130lbs per arm. So for those of us who do workout from home or are planning to set up a home gym it is by far one of the greatest investments you can make. It saves money and it saves space.

  • these look awesome i'm just stuck weather to get these or the lifesmart dumbell set :/

  • Thanks for the review. Why are people such jerks with their comments. ITS A REVIEW! Thank the person.

  • wow wouldn't wanna do flys with those...

  • @AndrosRG I do flys with them all of the time, and it works perfectly fine. lol :)

  • @AndrosRG ?? please, let me know what your thinking? I am looking at these and wanted to know as much as possible before buying.

  • Hey I bought these over the bowflex and i do think they are way better. The bowflex look cool and all but the length really throws me away from them. I was wondering if a little rattling with these dumbbells is a normal condition or is something loose?

  • You did a great job with this review. I'll check out P90X progress.

  • hey kool hat... where did you get it from?

  • Thank you for the video i really like these dumb bells especially since you showed how you could work the tricepts this would be perfect for me. Some of the dumb bells in the gym if my wrist are not positioned just right I get a popping sensation but yeah I think these will be perfect. I do agree i don't like the bow flex ones either there to dam long. What is the max weight of the power blacks you have now?

  • Hey dude, I just got the PowerBlock Personal Trainer Adjustable 2.5 to 50-Pounds per Dumbbell Set. I feel like an idiot, but how do I change the weights within the range of i.e. 15-20 lbs?

  • Good work on the review. I just bought them for my mom. I also have them in my home gym. I also happen to own a professional gym where I have the regular pro style dbs. I have a tip for all Powerblock users: use Plate Mate magnetic add-ons for very quick incremental weight changes for 5/8, 1 1/4, and 2 1/2 lb. Just stick them onto the flat square end plates of the Powerblocks. (I will be collecting my royalty check pronto from Plate Mate... just kidding.. .I wish).

  • Yea, go buy a gym membership where you can wait for some meat-head to get done with his set so you can use the machine and then you can go in the stinky locker room and hang with all of the naked old men that like to flaunt their junk! LOL Powerblocks rule and I will never waste my money on a gym membership again!

  • bro you need a haircut. But nice review

  • @freddy692000 I would rather spend the money on these dumbbells then go to the gym. I would rather get up in the morning and eat and go workout and not be bugged by anyone and not have to travel or walk. If you think about it the powerblock dumbbells in the long run will save you money over a gym membership plus the powerblock dumbbells you will have for life. Its better to work out in your own home anyway.

  • so, you would recommend these . and the p90x dvds (program) ?? please give me an answear - love your videos btw

  • These actually save you money for home dumbbells considering your pay $300 for 5lb - 50lb set instead of buying individual sets form 5lb through 50lb. At Sports Authority cast iron is about $1 a pound and the rubber coated and gripped handle ones are about double the price. A set of 25lb could cost you anywhere from $30-$50 so it's in the long run buying these are a smart investment.

  • Very nice review! Thanks!

  • I have the 90 lbs versions and I love them. They pay for themselves rather quickly

  • Great review!

  • i seen all there NEW dumbbells review and i can say that its stupid with this money u can go to a gym for at least one year 300$ i go for 2years in the joe weider gym.

  • @freddy692000. Okay. So let's just say that you were to build a home gym. You buy a bench, squat rack, treadmill, dumbbells, etc... etc...... in the long run, you will SAVE TIME (driving to the gym / waiting for your turn using equipment) AND MONEY (driving to gym / paying for memberships). Not to mention the numerous amounts of other benefits you get working from home.

Regardless, this is NOT a waste of money.

  • @professionalblogger

The fact that you can work out when you're feeling your best rather than having to jump in the car, drive to the gym, get checked in and changed THEN workout is enough to sell me on home gyms. Community gyms are like fast-food restaurants; you pay for the convenience of having many options in one place. The problem is, most people only take advantage of a few things. Why not just buy those things and save yourself thousands of dollars?

  • @professionalblogger Yep. With gas prices roughly $4/gallon and my gym being about 10 miles out of the way (20 mi. round trip), that's about a $3 trip each time ( @26MPG). And 3 times a week x 52 weeks = 156 trips to the gym per year. That's $468/year in gas alone.

  • @professionalblogger Plus for someone like me with kids and not enough time for a gym these makes a lot of sense. I'm convinced.

  • @freddy692000 and you get all the germs at the gym as well!

  • @freddy692000 Plus no everyone likes going to the gym. No one ever cleans the equipment, you always have to wait and most places aren't open late.

  • @KoukiR I dont now abour u bit at my gym i dont have any of these problems and its 130 a year so...

  • @freddy692000 The gym I went to was $240 a year and after 2:30-3:00 it is PACKED. I mean packed where you see 2 people waiting for a treadmill, bike, elliptical, there are about about 50 of each one. Then the weight room is even worse. Plus there are people you don't wanna see that go and a whole bunch of other shit. I have been going to the gym for 6 years, it starts to get boring after a while. I rather work out at home.

  • @freddy692000

You can go to a gym for 1-2 years, but what hapens after that? If you buy a few good pieces of equipment, you'll be set for life. Gym memberships cost about $200/year ($150 if all of the fees are waived), and most people don't even look at 90% of the equipment that they're paying for. I bought a pair of 90lbs PowerBlocks for $385, and my workouts are better than most of the guys in my old gym.

  • @vincentrich Yeah but i dont have space in my house for a personal gym!!!

  • $300 for both? Too much for weights :/

  • @WorldOfBoomCraft its its not to much is like 37.50 dollars depending on your brand for 1 bell of 30 lbs so 300 for to weights that range from 5-50 on both arms is a steal

  • man these dumbbells look so kiddish with the colors

  • you keep mentioning "the problem with this"... "the problem with that"... and then proceeding to highlight the actual beneficials of these dumbbells...just a thought for your next vid man.

  • I just bought these as well. I had the bowflex ones and they worked great for my first round of P90X, but the other day one of the cheap plastic pieces in them broke in the middle of work out. It would cost too much to ship them back and get them replaced, so I figured I might as well just buy some new ones. I bought the powerblocks because they seem sturdy (metal not plastic) and they come with a lifetime warranty. Good review, thanks for info. I'm on my second round of P90X. Keep bringin' it!

  • This is why I want Powerblocks:

Lance Armstrong uses them. He's a beast. End of story.

  • hey dude.. great vid!

what model are you reviewing here?

  • I actually got resistance bands to start P90X, but I might pick these up if I decide to do a second round.

Do these dumbbells wobble a lot during the lifts and/or movement?

  • good ass dumbell dude those are from dicks right they got the claasic up to 50 pounds vs amazon crappy up to 45 pounds ones. But to tell you the truth dude i went with the 5.0 sports because it is the newest and most versatile ever and the grip is great on those things plus you can ad up to 80 pounds but still yours is good thought.

  • is the pin clip made of plastic from your dumbell thats what it looks like i thought the clip is made of metal?

  • What is the advantage of this which is 300 dollarsfrom normal 30 dollar weights?

  • Tell me where you can get a set of two 10lb, 15lb, 20lb, 25lb, 30lb, 35lb, 40lb, 45lb, and 50lb dumbbells for $30.00

Lol You may not have been to the store in awhile, but it's about $15.00 for one 15lb weight lol.

Furthermore, not a lot of people have space for a huge set of dumbbells and a dumbbell stand, which is another reason the Powerblocks are good.

But seriously. Lol. Where can you get 18 different dumbbells, ranging between 10lbs and 50lbs, in increments of 5lbs, for $30.00?

  • @professionalblogger

well i bought 44 pounds, thats 22 pound son each arm, dumbells. But it was 25 quid which is about 40 dollars. So yeah it is quite expensive. But i think 300 pounds is like too much for me, Im not saying its bad but i dont have that kind of money, aha. Anyways im hoping to buy some new disk weights, 10 kg is getting a bit light. Know any good places to get cheap dumbell disks?

  • @professionalblogger The greatest advantage are its quick capability to change the weights and its economical aspect.

  • @professionalblogger I don't know about 18 different dumbbells, but I've seen a pretty good set of old hex dumbbells (about a dozen) for $50 on craigslist. The old style adjustable dumbbells that take standard plates are so cheap they're almost free (and I've even found some free ones from neighbors).

  • This is probably the best review of PowerBlocks I've seen on YouTube.

These are really quality dumbbells, but the thing I don't like about them is this: when I get to the last rep of a particularly hard set, I often drop the dumbells at the end of the final rep. I don't drop them far or throw them down, but I usually drop them 1-3 inches from the floor. With these you have to maintain control after that max-out rep and place them down correctly.

  • @cypresscollectibles Hey! Thanks, dude. What happens when you drop them? I don't drop my weights anyway, because I workout at home. But do they get screwed up if you drop them?

  • @cypresscollectibles Check out the new Powerblock Urethane Series with flex technology and a lifetime warranty. You're still not supposed to throw them around but if you have the tendency to drop your weights this may be a better set for you.

  • those look like something out of star trek

  • @evilshadowducky911 lol and they work like something out of Star Trek. Actually, never seen Star Trek haha lol But these weights sure beat my other set.

  • lol it says the vid isnt processed yet

  • @WTFitsJimmy You must've seen the video when it was first uploaded. Everything is up and running, now. :)
