  • Justin's lessons are all very well done.

He is to be commended for his most generous sharing of his wonderful talents.

I don't particularly care for this version but it's a training video not a concert.

  • You are the best Justin! I see many tutorial videos on youtube but you teach it the easy way and it also sounds very much like the original song

  • he's good

" To E Minooorrr oh my god thats looowww "

  • What's with the Tazmanian devil at the end?

  • Thxx, but I really can't find the vid about all the ways the play the chord: F. It is very ignoring, cuz I can play the song, I just can't make the freaking F chord... >.< Please make a link? o.o

  • @WampireFan the f is just an fmajor7 (3rd finger d-string3rd fret, 2nd finger g-string 2nd fret, 1st b-string 1st fret) but you make a little barre chord so your 1st finger also hits the e-stirng on the 1st fret.It works for almost any song with a c-chord in it :)

  • @superdarkmario2 Thanks alot! It's much better now ;'). Great video! Love this song! :D

  • @koomnav The F chord is picked starting on the C note ? ! ?

  • Comment removed

  • @koomnav Yes. I'm aware of all this. I've been playing the guitar for over 30 years but never noticed in the Animals version that the arpeggio in the F chord begins with the C note. Just doesn't sound right to my ears.

  • Comment removed

  • @koomnav I said that I've been playing the guitar for over 30 years. Not this song, and I would suggest that it's you that badly needs some lessons. I don't know where you got this strange idea that Hilton Valentine on the Animals recording begins the the F chord arpeggio with the C note. Take a listen to it again. He definitely begins with the root F on the 4th string.

  • thank you a ton buddy you are a nice teacher. i have learnt many things and improved a lot after watching your lessons. thank you again |..|,

  • Is there an Tibor Gats made Hungarian zither???

  • great lesson, thanks

  • Top man, as always a great lesson that helps and encourages us beginners to keep going. Really enjoying learning guitar thanks to you. :-)

  • You're an excellent teacher thankyou for your wonderful lessons!

  • as always, your videos are great!

  • Justin, your lessons are fantastic!!!

    z

  • there is more than one way to skin a song, i did it with my own chord progression

  • can i just say

this chord prog isnt the same all the way through at all

  • this was the first song i ever played, only never picked it, will be first thing to try tomorrowmorning :)

  • dave mustaine cut his hair

  • Thank you I will give this a try.

  • I have to thank you.

    Thanks to you Iearn alot

You are like a teatcher :D

  • Thanks a lot dude. Is the best lesson of that song I've had

  • i've watched many guitar lesson clips on youtube, but yours are by far the best! Thanks a lot.

  • Beautiful... Thank you..:-)

  • Thankyou.

  • lol im so hapy to hear an english guitar teacher on youtube for once :)

  • great lesson 5 stars i got it right away. Uve taught me alot of stuff this week bro

  • great vid;animals rock have for years;being from that era.would anyone know the strumming pattern to this song;

  • im playing the most basic of this right now lol but when i get better with my chords ill be trying this!

  • LOL..."the house of the rising oh my god thats low"

  • 3:26-3:39 perfect animals

  • thanks!!

  • lmao...little f. I don't know why I found that so funny.

  • Awesome!.... that f chord really pisses me off lol... weird animal growl at the end??

  • Actually, I think it's really sweet how Justin gives his gal a cameo at the end of his videos...

  • uhh i dont know about the giving his "gal a cameo" thing but uhh i was just saying it was kinda random... nothing wrong with it just....random.....random is good :D

  • Just an attempt at humour on my part. The animal is a Tasmanian Devil. Tasmania is the Island state below mainland Australia where Justin originally comes from. Which kinda explains why a lot of people have trouble picking his accent. Sometimes the Aussie comes out and other times the English dominates.

  • it's a Tasmanian devil, I believe :)

  • You explained it well, easy to follow. Sounds great!!!

  • good lesson, but the animals were not the original band to play this. Bob Dylan was the first to record it, but he didnt even write it. He kinda "borrowed" it from a friend.

  • This song dates all the way back to the 1860's originally.

  • @nazmountaingirl Say Wat????

  • why 's everybody got a minus ?

    what did we do ?

    'd be polite maybe ?

  • ...its the animals

  • Este se paso de pelotudo, seria un halago decirle boludo

  • Chido one!

  • Thank you!! you are a very good teacher! :)

  • ouh la la...

u speak so fast (for a french pupil)

but anyway i understood, that means u're a brilliant teacher.

    bravo et merci beaucoup, monsieur.

  • Hilton Valentine of the Animals played a "little F chord" live and in the studio.

  • good lesson, thank you for helping figure out this one.

  • very good lesson :D sub added ;)

  • awsome really easy to follow

  • Wow, great stuff, Best lesson I've seen,

    I'm subscribing for sure

  • I've Seen alot of lessons for this song but I think this is the 1 who helped me most. Thanks for showing the pickings!!

  • Great Lesson. Best I've ever seen. For the first time I'm going to learn the easier version. But soon I'll try the original, too. :)

  • any possibility of you teaching me the 90210 theme song???? I would love it!

  • Thank you Justin i'm picking up the guitar again after a few years and enjoying it , this helps a lot, fantastic.

  • Fantastic! Thank you!

  • Great Video!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • lol. thats so easy. i tried it less than 4 times and i got it.

  • justin is god..

  • Very good.

    You make easy to learn.

I would like ´ve got this video when young.

    I´ll tell to my son.

  • i liked this video :)

    funny video lets chat QF

  • You are a clear teacher and you have very good videos. Thank you.

  • i find barre chords so hard i always avoid them but i think its about time to do them if i want to progress i cant get enough pressure with the index any tips or am i just helpless?

  • it just needs practice. a great exercise is barring all the way to the 12th fret one by one and fingerpicking all notes. the trick is go from 1 to 12 and back again. if it hurts then stop. take 5 and start again. if you can't do it all the way to 12 in the first day is ok.

  • 5:53

  • i think you played wrong 2 notes :P in the ending because you said that the base note is 5 5 4 4 , 5 6 5 6 and you played 5 5 4 4 and after 5 6 6 6

  • Thank you very much Justin..whats that animal at the end..?

  • It's a Tasmanian Devil

  • As a self taught relative beginner (1 yr.) this song - even the picking is the quickest song i've ever learned! No frustrating stuff - I really appreciate your lessons, keep it up!

  • i use the same pick

  • Oh boy, I wish I could play this!! Phew...

  • Hey, I am learning this, just found you!! Thank you very much. Annette

  • I just want to say you rock you have taught me so many songs your awesome thank you!!!! AA+++

  • The video is perfect for the beginner. It sure has helped me alot!! Thanks Justine..

  • thankyou for your lessons and time justin, i apreaciate it man,. Gabe.

  • thanks for givin´a feeling for rythm :o)

  • "Amin to Emin oh my god thats low" lol that was funny

  • Man my accoustic is so hard to push down...I dont think Justin could even bar it on the first fret easily. Irritates me.

  • Hiya! This barre thing is ever so difficult to do, especially in the first fret, cos the height of the strings over the fretboard is quite high on many guitars... On some guitars, the strings almost touch the surface of the fretwires, enabling an almost featherlight finger pressure to do the barre... Don't give up!

  • I have an old 69's acoustic and it has the infamous fret 0. it helps a little on those first fret barred chords.

  • dont allways believe what you read in books.

  • Hiya! The suggested D chord seems to sound better in tune... It's just go with what feels best I guess, we can then each create our own tribute to this fab bit of music, and justins fab work... It's all good stuff!

    Thanks everyone!

  • diffucult to catch the F

  • practice, it get's really easy.

  • Hey guys it starts with the special struming but the piano takes over that so it goes to the easy way anyway

  • Justin's teachin' is just the best!

This was the first song I tried to learn. I hated the F chord (thankfully discovered the full F barre chord a year or so later)

The rake is a new version that I'll incorporate. I've fingerpicked a different way for years but Justin's way is accurate and the best.

    Thanks Justin.

  • Thanks for these videos.

  • is easy but awesome!=)

  • Thank you so much been wanting to learn this song.

  • um yea im a begginer and idk wat F chord or A minorr means =/ is there website that shows all that?

  • Check Justin's website -- it has lots of detail on the basics (see link in his profile).

  • Well done on your great vids. I have looked at several tutor videos on here and I must say yours are the best so far.

    Keep up the good work.

  • Maybe I missed it, but I believe that during the verses the progression uses:

    Am C D F

    Am C E E

    Am C D F

Am E Am then right back to the C D F ...at least that's what I hear when I listen to the song.

  • I think you're right, I just checked out the chords on the Animals video on utube and there isn't the extra E after the Am.

Can someone have a look and check?

Great lesson though, this guy is the best!

  • I thought you guys lost a marble but it didn't seem right when I sang it. Intro Am C D F Am E Am E Then repeat the rest of the song Am C D F Am C E E Am C D F Am E Am C D F Am E Am E
  • cant get enough of the animal at the end.

    great lesson, ty.

  • tasmanian devil!!

  • oops for some reaosn I have always played this with Am to G at the end rather than Am to Em :o

I also learned this years ago using alternate picking rather than strumming the chords which works quite well .

thanks agasin another great lesson ;)

  • another great lesson justin!!

  • thanks again justin for a very well put together lesson ive used yur videos loads of time and got it down by the second time through. any chance you could do god put a smile on your face???????

  • "To Eeeee.. oh my god that's low.." Hahaha awesome!

    Great job as always, Justin!

  • Great work, as always, Justin !

Wouldn't know, where I'd be without your lessons. Oh yeah, I prolly wouldn't have picked up guitar playing again ;)

  • You should make a song with a songtext like "A minor, to C, to D, to E, to A minor" And the chords :D

    Love it :D

  • another great lesson thanks so much

5/5 as always...whatever you want to teach I want to learn, thanks again

  • i subscribed to you and video didn't show up....thats weird ....i found it by my self

  • good job man he's back alright!

  • i was trying to find out how to play that song so i thought my self how to play in 1 day. and now you just made a vid for it lol . good job justin keep it up.

  • yay

  • Sei sempre er mejo!!

    Grazie!

  • Great video Justin. I've always wanted to learn this song but that specific strumming pattern, nobody was teaching it :( And the one time some1 was teaching it at the guitar club at school, our band had to rehearse for a concert. So thanks a lot. BTW Justin, why dont you ever teach a KISS song. Most of them are kinda easy and can easily be taught :P

  • Thanks Justin

Its good to have you back and I appreciate it when you show a more advanced version of a lesson.

We all start out as beginners and without a little help/push in the right direction we would be stuck there. You are not giving us fish/music, You are teaching us how to fish/play music for our selfs.

So feel free to give us a harder one once in awhile, thats the only way we'll get any better.

    Again, Thank You

  • Thank you sir.

  • A great lesson Justin! You could still use a bit more light on the front of you. Getting away from the bright background did help some.

I've learned a lot from you Justin. You're the best!

  • woot you're back!

  • Thanks man, good to see you again =)

  • nice to see you back

  • Nice seeing you back ^^

  • great video this was one of the first full songs I able to play on the guitar

and I wish you were around when I had to learn it it took me months to get rid of the nasty habits and play it the proper way

once more thanks for the lessons you do a great job and glad to see you back on YouTube

    PT

  • Nice to see you back!

  • Yet another great tutorial, you really are such a great help!
