  • Bitch I had do this with 4 mallets

  • that guy is rolling on the timpani wrong

  • no offense but u guys played at a much slower tempo than regular

  • my concert band did this. we really loved this song. sounds like u guys nailed this.

  • in the percussion section we forget how to count and which part is ours :P we barely started playin this yesterday but we made it through 70% of the song :)

  • the fail we have thw=e trumpets playing with mutes and not everone else and were going to state!!!!! hershey park here we come!!!

  • @andre9723 Lol I am a baritone(formally called a euphonium) and I have to say it does not sound the same on measure 9 with those large half notes and making those chords sound cool during the overture while the trombone plays almost identical parts that make the two parts sound cool together and I would say it is a tad fast for my taste but I am still going to like it

  • aww no baritones

  • @andre9723 my school has no french horns or alto saxaphones in the advanced band

  • We are playing this song in band and im sorry but we are waaaayyy better than you i am a percussion player and i noticed that your parts in the back are all wrong and off beat.

  • i just played this same song in a concert, weird cause this is american and im english...

  • this is the best school ever cuz im here and now its Mr.Rowle

  • @2haily What? i go here and have this teacher.

  • @FireClawofDuskClan idk i can probally fit about 75 kids on an anouncment stage for principles anouncing stuf oh no i can't

  • Nice mr engle we should hav played that this year

  • @FireClawofDuskClan eh but you gotta work with what you got.

For us, our gym is a lot better because the sound bounces back.

Whenever we perform in the theater, its not as great because some moron designed the theater and put soundproofing on the walls

  • @FireClawofDuskClan it doesn't look like they'd fit....

  • Comment removed

  • thats cuz mr engle is awesome lol

  • 7th grade? Great gob - lots of overblowing, but that is the students' issue. Great teaching happening at this school!

  • we are playing this song at festival on march 11th. @ unlv XD

  • really good, considering it's a seventh grade band. most balanced band i can find on here.

trumpets drowned out the woodwinds a few times, but it sounds great, still.

  • they need to work on staying together when transitioning to the next note and playing their dynamics correctly

  • that was an awesome concert ;) aww the good ol days..

  • haha i see me....

  • A few other things.

1] The clarinets have to slur their notes properly. Especially during the Clarinet solo/tutti. They also have to keep their upper-register notes in tune.

2] The bells have to play together. I'd prefer having only one person play the bells.

3] The percussion section in general needs to follow the conductor, especially during the rits.

4] I actually liked the flutes. They had a decent sound, especially for a 7th grade band. My high school band flutes can't play together.

  • I go to Silverbrook middle school.

We asked Michal Sweeney to compose this for our school.

    Look where it has spread.

We played it with our 6th,7th, and 8th grade bands.

  • not that big?!? my band is a gr. nine band, and we have aobut 20 people!! its really pretty and it seems easy... can't wait till my band actually sounds good.

  • oh wow, that was good, i'm in ninth grade and we played this with the 8th grade band [our grades are combined for band], and a few 7th graders, just where we were missing a few people. We have about 40 flutes, and 30 clarinets, a lot of trumpets, and a lot of everything else. It is a really easy song, but its fun to play... all together, we have about 130 in that class. It's not that big... but still, its fun =]

  • my scools honor band played this song 8=)

  • After the "majestic" part where the trumpets and the flutes have almost the same thing, you can barely hear the flutes. The trumpets are insanely loud. And 3:03 sounds better with a marimba. Other than that it was really good.

  • Well said. One of my music pet peeves are where the Trumpet overpowers the Flute in a Trumpet&Flute harmony.

  • haha well then you would get really mad at the first trumpets in my band class. me and the other 2nd and 3rd trumpets try not to overpower anyone unless we have to.

  • i go to silverbrook. my band teacher made michael make this and its pretty frickin sick.

  • I play timpani for this piece, it is so fun!

  • yeah he is a conductor he is also a band teacher at castlerock middle school. hes the best teach EVER!! Woo yay mr. engle! im gonna miss you when i go to skyview next year! =(

    -whit

  • We're playing this song with 7th and 8th grade combined. 8th grade could play by themselves, but we only have 10 people(excluding drummers cause they have a separate class) 3 alto saxs, 2 clarinets, 1 trumpet, 1 bass clarinet, 2 trombones, and me the only flute T.T

7th grade has more instrument and have over 32 people(excluding drummers).

But this band looks bigger than our 6th grade band(containing almost 64 people inclusing drummers)

  • My band played this song for a competition and i played the snare drum. I was the only snare. you have a dang lot of percussionists. the part at 3:03 sounds a heck of a lot better with one vibes and one marimba instead of a butt load of bells and xylophone. We performed this piece and one first place.

  • ya we're playing this song now and im playing percussion. we have two snares, one marimba, and i switch in the song from wood xylophone and bells. so it sounds really cool. were going to play it our competition april 25th. woo!

  • yea lacey it is u!!!!!...haha i new it how did ya find my youtube?? (we play this song so so much betta btw) lol

  • your brass section kicks ass

  • we are playing it with 3 trumpets 10 clarinets 1 saxiphone and 7 flutes 1 bells player

  • Our 8th grade band is doing this piece this year! It's such an awsome piece of music! I love it!!

  • in our band at 2:04 we use drum sticks and a cymball to make some rythem stuff.

    it sounds weird w/out it.

  • we're playing this song with five clarinets and we still kick ass.

  • its ok , i mean there a horrible bell part ringing at the start a few main bit missed out in the crash cymbals which add great effect and dynamics werent really taken into consideration but i do think its iimpressive thet they made it that far with it ^^ good job just work on things little more . a solo clarinet would have been much better , and tuned percussion parts in sync too.

  • our* i think this song is pretty good :)

  • were playing this song in are coming up concert :)

  • Okay so I'm playing this song in band and I'm impressed that 7th graders could do this but they probably started band class at a younger age then I did. I'm in 9th grade symphonic band and I must admit the song sounded awkward then when it was in my bandroom....then again I'm in the flute section soooo yeah

  • TRUMPETS RULE!!! SO DONT DIS AND I WAS PLAYING IN THIS BAND!!!!! SO YOU KNOW WHAT UHHHHHHHHHH

~Mariah B. ` (THe freakking bomb!!) P.S. Mr.Engle is the bombest teacher ever so u know what uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh LOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOL

  • You're a very unintelligent person, aren't you?

I bet you were one of the idiots that screwed up this song.

  • I think this song sound a whole lot better with just one snare. But then again I was our Snare player ;)

  • Not bad, for 7th grade.

    I played this in 8th grade. :P

1] For the clarinet solos, the vibrato is crucial.

2] The bells aren't in unison.

3] Trumpets are too loud. It's always the Clarinets and Flutes competing with the Trumpets. Clarinet and Flute were meant to play soft. On certain sections, the trumpet should play softer.

4] 4:35-4:45 there was no unison.

  • umm its no a clarinet solo all clarinets play

  • When I meant clarinet solo, I meant it is only played by the clarinets.

  • Wouldn't that be referred to as a soli?

  • i know on my part for trumpet our band director cant stress enough on how the trumpets need to play soft, and i agree the trumpets in this is way too loud and the did not play measure 100.

  • Neat. My band plays this song too. I'm bass. :)

  • i played this in gr 10 and also a sonfg called "ambermoon"

  • whoa my hair was long haha

you can hardly see my face on that close up

    oh this is Tyler

i just made this so i comment videos

  • I'm playing this in band. I'm the only xylophone player... The funny part about it is that I have to play not only xylophone, but bells and marimba too. I have only 3 or 4 measures to switch instruments... That means that I have to run through the back of the stage all song XD And my bf pays snare... I'm jealous xP

    GO PERCUSSION!!! XD

  • oooh we played this i was on snare!! FUN!

yall have a lot of percussionists!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i loved this song when we played it! Great Job!

  • 4:40 sounds bad

  • our honors band played this (Honours : grade 6 - 7

  • all the drummers r H-O-T-T

  • My band did this song in 7th and 8th. Wonder if we'll do it this year...

  • Cool song! We played this song at TLU. I am trying to convince my conductor for us to play this song

  • Meh...We are in 8th grade and now playing this song. I'm envious. Good Job!

  • 9th*

  • awsomeness!

  • Im in 8th and we are playing this for our next concert!

    (I play Timpany)

  • dude im in the seveth grade and we hopely will get to lay this song. i play baritone! and i dont see any baritone players in this video!

  • I have the tuba part and it was identical to baritone (except the multimeter part after 63)

  • I qotta play this sonq in a few weeekSz.

  • im in 7th grade and were playing this song

  • mines is 2 i play saxophone

  • omg! my middle school band has this piece! its one of my favs! i play drums and i love this song!

  • i played this piece on the bassoon and its awesome!

  • Uhhh...New Castle Indiana...

    Haha

  • im in 9th now and i march but when i was in 8th and in concert band we played this and we recieved a gold award and with distinction....which is highest you can get.

new castle has a VERY good music organization..thats what were known for =]

  • Congratulations! That's great. It is a very cool song and can really show off a nice sounding band. Where is "New Castle" from?

  • We just started playing this song. WE do it really well. I don't play a very big role, but I still think it is an awesome song. I wish I had the melody for at least 1 song! LOL

  • What instrument do you play?

  • Oboe

  • humm thaey changed things am i rong^^

  • is this the silver brookin fair fax county

  • I am not sure about that? Sorry

  • my school'sconcert band played this at ajudication an got a 1 rating(best possible score)for this song.

  • congratulations!!! That's awesome. A "1" means Superior and you can't do better than that. You and your teacher should be really proud!

  • Is this the Fanfare at Centenary high?

  • no.

it's 7th grade at Castle Rock Middle School.

  • Hmm... Maybe it's just because having such a large and differently proportioned band changed how it sounded, but I liked my school's performance of the piece earlier this afternoon a lot better than this video. Of course, I was in the band, so that might change how I feel about it a bit too. O_o

  • how many trumpet's did u guys have?

  • and i'm in 6th grade

  • my school band plays this it's the tightest song ever and i play trumpet

  • is there no baratone? cause i didnt hear it at measure 93 i think it was

  • yes. there are two baritones but we could definitely use some more.

  • how could this band have so many snares and trumpets and flutes yet no horn? they should reject some trumpets.

  • Trust me...I wish that I had more horns. I push the French Horn a lot but kids seem to avoid it for some reason...I wish they could sit next to the horn players in the Chicago Symphony for about ten minutes and then they would realize what's missing. "God Save the French Horn Players"!!! (thanks for your comment)

  • you know what, you sound a lot like a conductor, I wouldn't be surprised if you were one

  • spudtak is a conductor. Mine actually. I played in that band. Spudtak is the one that actually conducted this if you see him.

  • well what do you know, all conductors want french horns, it's nice to feel needed

  • I played at our districts fine arts festival the same day...
