My boyfriend is Mormon and has to leave on his Mission Trip in a month. The Mission is in Argentina, for 2 years. We've been on and off for 5 months, and hes the only guy I've ever truly loved. On the Mission trips you can only talk to your family 2 times a year; Christmas and Mother's Day. So, I wont get to hear his voice for 2 years, and we can only talk through letters. What kind of basement dwelling Dungeons and dragons freakshows "dislike" this? I'd like to meet you 5, obviously you have no grasp on "relationships" which leads me to believe you're either 10 years old or 32 and live on a diet of Mt. He proposed to me before his first deployment, just over two years ago, and this is our first as husband and wife... this sound makes me want to cry, but honestly I don't cry often. As much as I miss him I know that he makes me much too happy to shed a sad tear over.

@isabellemarie89 It's not unusual at all, Country music and Celtic music have their ties through Bluegrass and Folk. Besides the song was written by a Scotsman. :D

@isabellemarie89 It's not unusual, bag pipes are a military thing, this song is about a sailor. so i think they added the bag pipes to connect more to the military part of the song. :)

@isabellemarie89 It represents that the man this song is about dies. it is common to hear those at a funeral. I will admit though, it is odd to but them into a country song. But I think he tied it in pretty well :)

@isabellemarie89 i was wondering if it the bagpipes symbolize the speaker's death and that he didn't come back from the sea. Just listening to the bagpipes playing reminds me of when they have bagpipes play Amazing Grace at military memorials and funerals

@isabellemarie89 Bagpipes aren't exactly traditional for country music, no. But they are traditional for military funerals, which is probably meant to remind us that for a lot of unfortunate couples, the waiting never ends.

this song reminds me of my soon to be boyfriend and myself! we go to different schools, and i mean i know its NOTHING compared to having a spouse go to iraq, or have them be in the navy, but it still hurts, and i really think this song describes us(:

my husband is in the navy and moved me and our family home in october he will be home from deployment sometime in august but we wont see him again until september. in all this time we will have only seen him 2 weeks. we have 3 beautiful babies and we all miss him dearly. COME HOME SOON BABY WE LOVE YOU!

my husband left to go back overseas 3 days after our wedding. i dont know when i will see him again for sure. this song explains it all. during our engagment we only saw each other for 1 week every 5 months. seems like it will always be that way. god i miss him.
