Most of this cover art is not very good and very plain... FF7 was a fantasticly awesome game but that cover art is nothing to write home about... you sure you didnt just add it to your list because of how great a game it is? either way I still agree with much of your list.

One I have always liked is the (American) cover art for Perfect Dark. It's not too special, though; it just features Joanna's face up close, but, for some reason, I find it awesome how you can see the reflection of a Maian (in-game alien race) within her eye there. Most people never even notice that. But I do, because I'm nerdy like that, haha.

By the way, very nice Sonic remix! I think it fits perfectly :)

OMG! Awesome! I love this! Great list! I agree for the most part. And I loved that you included ETERNAL DARKNESS, Persona 4 and FINAL FANTASY X; those would definitely be on my list too! :D But, wait...they CAN be on my list! I should totally make a response to this! Yeah! I would have to think carefully about the other ones I would include, though. But I'm definitely up for it! :)

I think I would also include FINAL FANTASY VII, but I'm not sure. There are just so many games to choose from! :P

Twisted Metal Black is easily my favorite cover art ever. If you don't know what I'm talking about, its a great close-up shot of the left half of Sweet Tooth's clown face. :)

Check out some Neo Geo AES cover art. My favorites are Samurai Shodown II, Real Bout Fatal Fury, Last Blade 1 and Nam 1975. Japanese versions tend to be better without the borders. SNK put a lot of work into them. Most are portraits done by the same artist. I can't think of his name off the top of my head.

Ironically the original box covers for Atari 2600 games used to look AWESOME, considering how crappy the actual game graphics were! Some of my favorite covers were Asteroids, Missile Command, Pac-Man, River Raid and Space Invaders.

Very cool video idea. There are some really great pieces of art on game cases (especially pre-internet, since that was the major way to get folks to actually pick up the case and look at the back for more info on the game).

Some of my favorites that you didn't mention: Left 4 Dead Mass Effect Gradius The non-US cover of ICO Either Super Mario Galaxy Any 3D Grand Theft Auto Resistance: Fall of Man Metal Gear Solid 4 Red Dead Redemption Half-Life 2 Mega Man 9 (for doing the so-bad-it's-good thing on purpose) Phalanx (for doing the so-bad-it's-horrible thing on accident) and if I were to pick a favorite off the top of my head, I'd go with Psychonauts.

I remember back in the day I wanted to rent Turtles in Time because the box looked so cool. I really like the Doom cover as well. Also, I seem to like very minimalistic covers that just have a cool style to them.
