  • Amazingly great.

  • Vivat Sweet! Look at the Japanese guitars :-)

  • Clips of these old glam bands are much better when they come from Germany & Europe. The kids there stomped and clapped all the way through making a greta atmosphere - it wasn't allowed on Top Of The Pops, bloody boring BBC! Thanks for the clip!

  • brian is extremely sexy in this video. a simply beautiful man. it's hard to believe these videos are 30 years ago. it seems a good many of the videos posted are from tv shows in europe. sweet lives on in my heart. thanx clockworklou for your videos.

  • i love the sweet

  • The Crue also lifted the gear shifting guitar intro to that song from Montrose- Bad Motor Scooter

  • sweet rocks, they were a great band and highly underrated. thank you for sharing this video. RIP Brian and Mick

  • @MadamMigrane its steve on bass singing backing vocals

  • I like this songs very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hellraiser/Blockbuster and Little Willy all on their 1973 US lp. What a terrific album.

  • 0.58 the big kiss haha

  • This is what a call audiens closness!! HEHE and Yes Andy kissed Stewe!!

  • when did andy kiss steve?

  • Hehe, it's not really for real ... just check the Blockbuster! video. To be fair Steve does look a lot like a woman in it.

  • Haha, I can't believe I just noticed this: on here, 0:58

  • cause its GAY TIME!

  • so many groups today are big gay time.

  • Perhaps they were worried that Andy would kiss Steve again. It was 1973 after all!

  • Oh God, that cracks me up every time I see it... as if they didn't like being called gay...XD

  • Amazing glam sound and fashion at it's peek. Incredible. Incredible video. I always thought it sounded very similar to Bowie's Jean Genie

  • I was more taken with how gorgeous Steve looked - why was he hidden away for most of that performance?

  • Yeah, even when he was doing his singy bits...? That's a mystery. Poor Steve :(

  • Anyone else find themselves staring at Brian's arse between about 0:44 and 0:51?

  • Great to see but the miming is shite

  • My favourite band of all time!

  • wow ...did motley crue ever rip these guys off ,,,,,,kickstart my heart is a ripoff of this

  • yes they did. and they made a lot of money out of it. good for them

  • Comment removed

  • Sweet influened a lot of todays rock bands including motley crue

  • I love how there's people onstage with them and the drums aren't stuck in the back

  • 'Hell Raiser' was bought for me for my 7th birthday. I still remember it to this day. That famous orange RCA label on the vynal, with the 'b' side song called 'Burning'. I played it 3 times even before I went to school! Such great memories of such a fine band. Brian Connolly, what a showman. Amid all the frenzy of the Bay City Rollers and The Osmonds, while Gary Glitter and Slade were trying to steal the glam rock headlines, The Sweet stood out as most people's favourite band at the time.

  • It sure beats Yes and King Rimjob and what ever else was supposed to be good at the time.

  • just great!!!

  • I love Sweet. And loving cheeky Mick at 0:50 and how Andy kisses Steve at 0:59. And just love Brian full stop!! Such sexy guys xXx

  • Hey Glam Rock fans, anyone who wants to glam it up, Iron Virgin's guitarist is gonna put his platform boots up fer auction real soon.

    scotchproductions(.)com/ironvirgin(.)html

They recorded Rebels Rule and they played Hell Raiser and many other Sweet songs in their set. Just wish there was some video of these guys:

  • watch brian's hips during blockbuster

  • im only 23 and i soooo wish i was around in the 70s! the bands now dont make music like they use to!

  • me too!

  • grew up with glam and you are right to regret not seeing first time around.superb nostalgia!

  • Rock on !!

  • Im from brazil, so imagine what people think of sweet! i agree with you in everything! it must have been great to live the 70's like you did, and despite people here i admire them a lot!

  • I'm 27 and so into the Sweet too. Who else compared hard rock and glam with so much art and such great tunes. Grossly underrated.

  • soooo good ! Just like back in the seventies , I still can't get enough of the music .

  • do you think Brian had a clue what Steve and Andy were up to, behind him? Seems they were always goofing around...so fun!

  • superb memory of my 70s growing up . sadly missed

  • THAT`S HORNY MUSIC !!! SWEET 4ever !!!

I LOVE IT FOR THE REST OF MY LIVE !!!

  • What makes sweet one of the best bands of the seventies is they don't take themselves too seriously yet they are world class singers and musicians.

  • i agree with shanon 500 now all u need to make it big is a few downloads and good pr i think at one time 1 sweet single topped half million who apart from a handful could do that no one and these bands were well outrageous for there time. look at how many of there hits are on here and there all quality , no one hit wonders these boys how mad is that a record companys dream come true

  • I love it when Andy gives Steve a kiss at 0:58! :D

  • they had the "the" on albums until '74 and singles until '75, then they ditched it

  • great musicical talent and they cant do it today all they do today is have silly boy bands like take that and they cant sing for toffee and cant play music they need to take a leaf out of the oldtime singing and see how it is done

  • To Shanon500 - I Agree

  • Iron Maiden continued this line further

    Are similar very much

  • Is this band called "Sweet" or "The Sweet" ?

  • Both! I saw a better explanation on one of their other vids but I guess they started out with "the" and then chose to lose it.

  • oh ok cuz all these other videos have different names for this band so it get's confusing, lol

  • It's originally called "the Sweet", but then people had better orgasms............sweet.

  • what can I say.....hell ya rise the best and nevva blocked a buster :)

  • Hell- rai-zah !!!!!!!!

  • Grandi great band

  • OMG my childhood heroes Sweet is teh best.

  • thats one beastly tele

  • woop woop sweet rule 4 evahhhhh xx

  • MAGIC !

  • mensch die Sweet.

    Meine Tennienband.

  • I has a drink one night with mick tucker the drummer just before he died, The guy was lost, it was Like the glory days were over, what else is there!!. We both got thrown out of the pub, Hellraiser for real, God bless Mick tucker.

  • did yoy really? too bad if it was like that. Good that Steve is alive and is playing with a new band then!

  • sounds that you had a great evening anyway :-) that I would have liked to share

  • Hey man can you elaborate? What do you mean the guy was lost? How did he die? OD?

  • I knew Mick, he may have been lost, but it wasn't cos he missed the glory days..If it was only a month before he died, as you say, then it was because he knew he didn't have long to live..he had been suffering from cancer for quite some time

  • Gotta love steve prist..very funny!

  • Idiot. Most bands lipsynced on television appearances in that era, most shows didn't have the setup for a 'live' performance.

  • Fuck you...these people are talent...all abnds lipsync on tv...listen to the live stuff! PICK

  • TWAT!

  • Brilliant Brilliant band. Brings back great memories

  • He'll eat your pies.

    He'll telly your lies.

You wouldn't believe that fat bastards size.

  • It sounds like the whole place is stomping... By the way, Motley Crue ripped the beginning of Kickstart My Heart...at least once in their career they showed some taste.

  • I luuuve this clip. Brian The Beautiful at his most campy, what with the bodylanguage and everything, heee... The cameraman sure focused on his lovely, tight, swinging bum often enough :D

I've gotta start buying some CDs by this incredible band!

  • a good double header - Blockbuster followed by HellRaiser. Long live The Sweet!

  • I`ve got this [Hellraiser] and a couple of other tracks from them live on video,Glam Rock,Damn they are SHIT HOT,also got heaps of early bands on reel to reel from early seventies, just have to transfer to c-d`s,one day.

  • I got some records lol

  • Very thoughtful of Steve to have left the German military garb at home for this taping.

  • Ah, memories!

  • who feels young again watching this it's great

  • Cocaine fuelled 1970's glam-pop-menatalism in front of an appreciative teenage, and largely female German audinece. NATURAL BORN RAVER....LOOK OUT....!!!!

  • Hell, what a trip back in time, a fantastic group.

  • Hey Motley Crue stole the beginning of "Kick Start My Heart" from this song.

  • Andy Scott is one of the most underrated guitarists of the 70's...or ever...

  • WOW, this is awsome! I totally loved this when I heard it the first time. . .Must go through somebody's record collection if he'd let me in! Betcha I'd find 'Sweet' vinyl in that collection. ;)

  • LepLuvJoexxx, see you like Leppard, check out the Sweet original version of 'Action'.

  • thanks for the memories

  • The best band ever !!!!

  • Sweet memories ;-)

  • Sad end to all of them. Mick was a diamond.

  • WOHHO YEAH! this is great... these guys were so funny :D!

    to know that brian & mick arent alive makes me cry.. ;_;

  • This is from the music-show "disco". In germany it was a popular TV-Show for Pop-Music every 14 days in the 70ies, I remember. Early 80ies, this show died.

  • Sweet was such a tight band but sheesh, this is the worst attempt at lip syncing I've ever seen. RIP Brian and Mick. Was a privelage to see these guys in '74.

  • Mick is indeed on FIRE here. And I want to know who the lucky gal was that got Brian's smile at 13 secs.

  • Right I'm gonna be the first one to say that MICK is gorgeous. Love Mick

  • Coolest Blockbuster Commercial. Ever!!

  • Go Brian Go Brian xD That's so hot *-* And Steve is soOo damn sexy aaaw <3

  • Is youtube taking comments again, finally? Well, I only have 3 words for this-Shake it Brian!! :)

  • Andy is mysteriously sexy

  • lol Andy Blew a Kiss To Steve

  • steve is so prissy and fussy, i love it, lol

  • When?

  • In Germany on a TV show called "Disco" in the early 70's, probably 1973.
