I love both singers, I think akerfeldt is more talented in the sense he has amazing cleans as well, but both have their merits, and i probably prefer the growls of tagtgren. @RadoDani, that's pretty much true. I mean the Metal scene in the UK is pretty big but there really doesn't seem to be enough GOOD bands coming out of Britain. None that can compete with Vader, Decapitated, Hypocrisy.. And it is a shame, no worries though. Soon to be a change. ; )

Perhaps the biggest problem UK and USA has in metal are the fans themselves ... UK does not seem to be interested carrying the legacy they created in the 80's ... and the Screamo Metalcore packs stadiums in USA while excellent Technical Death metal bands remain overshadowed by the whole 'Core fad ... :(

@RadoDani iron maiden released a lot of good albums, there's a lot of other good bands too that no one knows. i one week i found out 10 amazing bands in my country that i never heard about that play way better than korn and other modern crap. and about poland, the "even" is unnecessary, poland is at the level of the previous countries you just said, and its one of the few where good metal appears more often than the "core" genres

American metalheads have a herd mentality and generally no taste. US goes through these fad cycles Thrash, NuMetal, Metalcore etc. Everything else is dismissed as "gay". :( As a result talented US bands either find fans in EU/Japan or simply give up before we get to know them. :(((((

@RadoDani The past 10 years metal's been produced through Germany, Finland, Sweden, Norway, the occasional France, indeed a few Canadian skullcrushers, but USA has produced nothing but deathcore. If breakdown after breakdown makes metal, I shit metal. That's pretty sad. Sorry but America has very little talent in metal. The few decent ones we have stay underground till they die out thanks to the hardcore scene's takeover of the metal mainstream.

In almost every country you mentioned there were musical eras and bands who devoloped much of metal. And in every country there are talented/good bands as well but its just the stupid core and Nu Metal fankiddies who made mainstream and meaningless Deathcore and Nu Metal music popular and mainstreams. UK was the biggest music scene of Rock and Heavy Metal (Beatles, Iron Maiden, Rolling Stones) In USA all the Death Metal was born and Sweden and Norway made all the Melodic Death and Black Metal.
