  • this rocks guys! i love it

  • Great bassist, but his vocals are awful... =|

  • Jaco would turn in his grave.....

  • @Mathiasthorp I dont think VIctor was a good replacment for jaco He just isnt the same and isnt as good and I agree That jaco would turn in his grave

  • Jaco would turn in his grave.....

  • muy bueno markitos venite asi lo tokas aca ke te sale sarpado a vos abrazo

  • I've just heard Victor performing with Peter Erskine in Budapest at a Jaco tribute concert. He sang the same tune and it was simply great (even better than what can be heard on this recording though it's not bad either I think). In my opinionhes the best living bassist of our time along with Marcus Miller and Brian Bromberg.

  • @Meola07 U are wrong Sir,Victor Wooten, Stanley Clarke, Les claypool, Dave Schools,George Porter Jr, Louis Johnson, Paul Jackson all Of those Great bass players are Better Than VB, MM, and BB sorry to point it out but those three arnt that great Especially Marcus Miller He is just Boring He does The same thing every song It gets old after 2 songs

  • Victor's singing kind of reminds me of my own......a bit lacking however it just needs a little vocal coaching and tonal excercises, etc.,

  • Oh Mr Bailey, you needn't sing anymore! you sound great without the voice. spare us your trite lyrics and less-than-stellar voice

  • victor! at least get a singer to sing with you... ur voice is terrable! but u shud work at it man... thak got ur bass playing is not! GOSH victor bailry with vince mendoza.... WUUFFFF! absoulute cracking it up.

  • does anyone have the lyrics for this written down? im learning continuum for school (getting assessed) and im thinking learning the singing part for this song will really help..thankyou

  • the lyrics are written inside the booklet of victor bailey's album "low blow".

  • I met Victor Bailey on his world tour in Australia....he was so cool and really took the time for a chat...it was a highlight of my life....then he stepped up with the "The Zawinul Syndicate"(RIP) and....now this was great, he did this live too...with a standing applause from our best...cause he is the best too...

  • dm i love this song!!!! when i first heard him do this i couldnt believe it!!!!!! its great being a musician!!!!! and pour your heart out musically every night for different peopel

  • Is their a full version somewhere?

  • i respect him and really appreciate his bass playing but i cant stand what he's done with this.

  • danm... too short...where's the impro part...

    where's the cake? :-D

  • this is the gayest thing i have heard in my life

  • Do you know who Jaco was?

If you don't then sure it's gay.

If you do then it's the most fitting of tributes to the most brilliant person to live in the last 100 years.

  • Jaco sang also do you still think its gay.

  • Tight vid..........

  • What about Mark Burgess, Curt Smith, Aimee Mann, and Johnette Napolitano? I think these guys are great as well, granted in other genres. I think everyone in their own right is great, that's what music is all about. You make something and someone somewhere is going to like it.

That's one of the most beautiful things about this art. Total freedom.

  • good bassist... not an awesome singer

  • First. He is a great musician and great composer!!! Not simply bass player....and he is also great singer!!!

Second.I do not know that they are people, that dare to judge a so wonderful musician?

WAKE UP DUDE!!! HE IS VICTOR BAILEY !!! PROVIDE MORE RESPECT TO HIM!!! Peace dude

  • sure... whatever man, he is a good bassist and that's his stuff

  • totally agreed. He's out of tune sometime.

  • The fact that he is Victor Bailey doesn't mean you're not allowed to say he doesn't sing very well in this video. I respect this guy and love his playing, but I still think that his singing isn't great. Am I insulting this guy ? No, I'm just giving my opinion. Peace dude !

  • At least he sings. The greatest bassissts dont really sing. Wooten, Myung, Flea, even Pastorius himself, mostly dont even sing. At least this guy sings while he plays. And I think its' a great tribute. Pastorius was one of the greatests in bass history. Hands-down! There are many like him but there can be only ONE Jaco Pastorius.

  • he can get a good singer and focus on the bass... anyway I respect the guy

  • Yeah and that's cool but I respect him even more for doing both. Respect is all you need.

  • actually victor wooten the greatest on your list sings while he plays, and now solo artist, old primus frontman les claypool sings, both amazing basists and singers(i dont know how great of singers, but singers none the less

  • I respect Wooten because of his bass playing not because of his voice

  • Yeah victor and jaco actually did sing

  • what about mark king and geddy lee

  • wooten, miller and so many others sing too...

  • Fojeda1 that is the funniest idea ever, I just imagined a dude singing over the famous concerto in B.

    Do you know who

    Could I show you

Do you know who Bottesini was?

  • True! lyrics is strange and bit stupid, but he should be respected of his great job.

yes it would be strange if pianist sings "Do you know who Corea is?"

  • that was awful. the guy can play, (although not in this video), but he sure can't write lyrics...or sing them...

  • Well I guess you don't know who he is right?

He have played for many the best musicians like Madonna ect.

You should read more before posting!

  • wow, read my comment again. "the guy can play." i was first exposed to Bailey about five years ago, so yes, i know who he is. YOU should read before posting. i don't give a shit what he can play or who he has played with - it doesn't guarantee that everything he does is going to be good.

  • Well ok! "The guy can play" - is not correct statement about this bassist or other great bassists.

P.S. You should give a shit about what he can play and who he has played with - thats the main difference between you and him - he play with Madonna ect., but you are . . . . . . . . Oh let me think.... 0 ( zero ) nothing!

    Have a good day :D

  • P.S. Why does hell you replay to my comment what I replayed to "KillerFridge" In page 3. Crap...

No offense what wasn't to you at all. Read KillerFridge comment in 3rd page.

    Peace man!

    KillerFridge this was for you...

  • A. you just stated my OPINION was not "correct." good going you elitist dipshit, but that's what makes it an opinion - it's SUBJECTIVE, therefore not wrong.

    B. i'm 20 years old and have been playing 5 years. no shit i haven't done what he has. i'd say i have quite a bit of time left.

    C. you're not a particularly bright individual.

  • Idiot. Victor Bailey is a great bass player. That being said, these lyrics as well as the singing are dumb. What does him playing with Madonna have to do with anything? Victor Bailey has accomplished much more as a bass player, than playing Madonna's crap. The only reason he'd do that is for money.

  • Nice. I saw him play this live once.

  • fojeda1 and others: I realy don´t know what are you talking about... Try to listen not only this song...

  • Who's critiquing??? Typical wannabes!!!!

  • yo victor bailey is great....but this is just embarrassing....almost as embarrassing as "me and my bass guitar" or "bassically yours". I'm an electric bass player and i really don't understand why the bass community is really the place where theres music like this. Can you picture an upright bass player singing "did you know who Bottessini was?" over a bottessini piece? NO, you can't. C'mon bass players...enough of this

  • weird

  • Christ, did he really need to add lyrics to that song, and just blatantly follow the medal? And for God's sake, I wish his lyrics were a bit more generic.

  • Man that was the strangest thing i have heard for time. all out of tune an shit.

  • Nice lyrics...

    Good stuff.

  • I can't criticize this! I only can tell that Victor Bailey is doing a pretty darn good job honouring Jaco, this way!

  • please put more of victor bailey someone know were i can see videos? este (negro la tiene rre clarinete)

  • Victor Bailey - Bottom's up!!! If you can find it, get it!!! That's how good he is!!!

  • everybody's a critic. let's see some of u do better!!at anything...not just bass.

  • cheesy or not, i think its a genuine tribute from one great bass player to another. its as simple as that.

  • that is mega cheesy lyrics

  • these have got to be some of the cheesiest lyrics ever thought up

  • With so many people who ripped Jaco off, I really wish that Jaco could've heard this simple tribute!

  • I'm suprised that he can play it so well even though hes been fucked up by drugs!

  • Victory... What a man. Low Blow was one of his best works by far!

  • Victor is an amazing bass player... and that's a pretty cool hommage.

  • No disrespect cuz this guy can obviously play but let's just say he should stick to strictly bass....if you know what I mean.

  • Hey, hey... , no bull shit here! Just take it easy. This is Victor Bailey, dude. If you dont mind.

    Regards

  • cool

  • neat! I was sitting about 5 feet away from vic when this was filmed!

  • love that jaco tune

  • Sweetness brutus the barber baby!

  • amazing you got to love it
