This is a very sad outcome for Penn State regarding these allegations...absolute witch hunt for crying out loud...board of trustees went after the wrong guy...
Here's my opinion....Joe should retire. Tough to sell PSU to elite kids when the coach is a washed-up, half-senile has-been. That's why top PA kids end up at Ohio State. They want to play for a coach that wins instead of one who sits 4 and 5 star QBs so they can watch a short, candy-armed walk-on give away a bowl game with his five picks. I've been a PSU fan for years, but its time, we're second-tier and an afterthought on the national scene.

I'm sorry, but I still say he is washed up. What you fail to realize is that in most of those years, we padded our record with a patsy OOC schedule. The Joe of old would not have been thoroughly embarassed like he was against USC, Alabama, and now OSU almost every year. Heck, he cant even beat Iowa. The kids we need to land to be elite are going to schools like UF, OSU, and Bama. Years ago, those type of kids were the ones we got and thats why we WERE elite. Oh, and he crapped his pants.

seminoleboy bobby is a great man also but i disagree about a better coach and ask you one question whats the % of players that get their degree and grad under bobby bowden...And he was pushed out of coaching Joe P wont be pushed out Penn state is pure class .JOe P and the bear the best college coaches ever.
bobby is a better coach first better winning percentage and less seasons better bowl percentage i like patterno but bobby is a better coach im glad that patterno said this though
If I could play football at that level, I'd play for that man. no choice, no if's, no but's. Hell, I'd commit in my junior year. I personally think you gain the most by playing for old school coaches. Some new age coaches are tooooo soft in the name of "i'm ur friend"
