And I think it's very easy to see why; the perpetual instilling of fear and shame and guilt and threats. Plus, of course, the forfeiture of integrity necessary for the required social posturing. I've dealt with hundreds of dying and recently dead people, as well as their families and friends. Christians are overwhelmingly more afraid of death.
Many "believers" are panic-stricken, terrorized at death, while atheists are sorrowful at leaving, but almost never terrified.
