@Kyokyo101 Shadow Casting is where a group of fans of a movie, get together, rehearse each single move/movements and/or words to songs or the script and put it together into their own theatric play. It's like Cosplay (Cosplay is dressing up in costume and being that actor/actress or cartoon animated character such and such). All they do is dress up in full possible identical costume, rehearse the lines and moves, and try to put on the best cosplay show they possibly can! <3 I'm a cosplayer!

YES!!!!!!!! You're are so cool!!!! You did such a great job in the movie. I've watched this movie so much I have even started spotting out where they messed (not in the plays.....). I've also memorized ALL the song's and I can sing everyone alone..... well..... until the people start singing at the same time. Then I just switch to either Shilo's part or blind Mag's. people go to the shadow casts all the time! i myself am in the amber's sweets cast in Sacramento Cali and if you love the movie then there is no reason you wouldn't love the shows and I highly encourage you go to one! It's an amazing experience and its something that you shouldn't go throughout your life without experiencing. Find a cast near you and go!

Although Repo! isn't the camp and self-deprecating cult classic that RHPS is, it has an amazing theatricality to it that makes people not only relate to the characters and sing along to the lines, but literally want to -be- that character for 90 minutes.Another wonderful thing that seems to pull people to the film is the humility and non-assholeness of Terrance. He's such a genuine and down to earth guy, and we respect him for keeping his head through being almost a semi-god in our little cult.

I think the reason Repo! is being shadow cast and treated with an almost reverance is because the vast majority of people who have fallen in love with it were not even alive when Rocky Horror was first on stage, and feel like we haven't had something of our own to give back to an influence as Rocky has been with it's fans.

I'm about to tick off a lot of people I'm sure...  But I HATE the fact that people are shadowing this movie while it is playing. It makes me cringe to think that this is happening. I mean if you want to perform it then get a cast together and put it on in a theater don't just pantomime in front of the screen!

Why do you hate it? It was made to be a cult film, that is what happens with cult films. It's called shadowcasting. RHPS is famous for that reason alone. Also most good shadow casts don't just pantomime movements they actually act it out. To do a stage production of Repo would cost thousands for just one night and will be very hard to make the money back where as shadowcasting costs at most a couple hundred dollars.

What other movies are shadowed besides RHPS? RH is camp... Repo is NOT... This movie could play for years in a theater by just having people go see it at midnight showings. And I'm sorry, but what they are doing in front of the screen is pantomime. There is nothing wrong with panto it is a form of acting. I just wouldn't want to see it. This movie is too awesome for such treatment.

I'm with the Arizona group he mentioned (Chandler Cinemas/Come As You Are- TESTIFY!) and we've shadowcast a couple of other cult films: Cannibal the Musical, Moulin Rouge, Lobster Man From Mars... I disagree- I think there IS a campy element to Repo! that keeps it accessible. Though it has a different attitude, it has the same effect of making people want not only to watch it but to *be* it. TZ told us himself that it can't ever really go back to being just a stage play.

Repo isn't camp? I'm having a hard time hearing the "Boing! Boing!" of the Loony Tunes style sound effects in the background of "Mark it Up" and thinking "Wow, this isn't camp."

I don't care if God himself thinks that 'Shadowing' this movie is the BEST thing anyone has EVER done. It SUCKS and I (ME!) don't like it. I am not trying to make anyone else think the way that I am I am just voicing my own opinion of it. I would be right there for singing along and reacting to the film, but I (ME) don't want to watch other people doing it. I'm there to watch Terrance, Anthony, Alexa and the rest.

I totally agree with this. It's what the critics (overall) have failed to grasp. There are themes and ideas in Repo that could be taken in a deeper way, but ultimately the movie is about entertainment. And truly, what could be wrong with that? :)
