  • why werent they much bigger? they gotta be what in their 20's here? guys today could make this kind of music, bring it back, bring in the funk guitar, catchy hooks. just listen to china grove or long train runnin for example. it can be done, sorry I dont play guitars but I wish this classic type would come back.

  • This one of my favorite April Wine songs !!!!

  • This one of my favorite april wine songs

  • i see justin beaver outside saying damn instead of building one.

  • same studio rush used

  • I think this video is shot at the same place where Tom Sawyer by Rush is Shot. Must be some kinda recording studio. Where is this???? Must be in Canada the Rush one its winter.

  • @bumprocks It's called Le Studio located in Quebec somewhere. RUSH recorded Moving Pictures there. Tom Sawyer Vid as well.

  • @unlikeanyotherhuman Yeah, and now we have that little homo Justin Beiber!

  • @sbohandley Justin case insurance dummy Better than J. Beaver

  • @sbohandley Blame the music industry for that !

  • APRIL WINE~~~"I LIKE TO ROCK & ROLLER"

  • i love the high volume man

  • How did Canada go from April Wine and RUSH to Justin Bieber?

  • Is this in Le Studio, the same place Rush made moving pictures???

  • @MrPowerring no!!it was made in hudson, quebec at a bar named back then named rumors!!!!

  • @RSTL1234 Oh ok... it's just the windows and backdrop looked close to what you see when rush recorded Moving pictures in le Studio... Vive le Vin!

  • seen them friday at laurencetown ns amazing

  • @limabeanz24 I was at Lawrencetown also and it was amazing, 12,000 screaming fans and I was the biggest from Cape Sable Island NS

  • @SuddenHope9 good wanst it

  • I saw them in the early 80's and again about 5 years ago - they stil ROCk and put on an excellent show !!!

  • Wow!

    I forgot about this tune!

    Awesome..

Was wondering if this is the same studio that I've seen Rush record in..looks similar.

  • The LOOP...

    Rocks!!!

  • April Wine ROCKS!!!

  • ROLLER - the definition of Rock and Roll. One of the TOP songs ever.

  • Comment removed

  • second best band to come out of canada..what is first ?...rush

  • @vegasbill2008 Gordon Lightfoot.

  • @vegasbill2008 i dunno, triumph OWNS, too.

  • I don't really think there playing Day Tripper and Satisfaction. Those two songs weren't really hard rock songs. If you listen to I like to Rock and compare it to those songs there really different. However, when you compare Satisfaction to Day Tripper there pretty much the same songs just a little different.

  • great canadian band XD CANADA

  • That lick at the end of the solo is in my opinion, one of rock's best. HELL YEAH!!!

  • I met the guitarist today he was at my town community centre !!!

  • okay, yeah............ HOW ABOUT Rush, BTO, The Guess Who, Big Sugar, Tea Party, Trooper, Chilliwack, The Tragically Hip, 54-40, Neil Young, The Band (3 of em at least), Heart (formed here and used to introduce themselves as from Vancouver), Triumph, Mahogany Rush (amazing and hugely influential band), Max webster, Kim Mitchell. All that only naming rock artists not getting into all the other amazing talents from Canada............ I think there are very few countries that rock harder.

  • wow they still rock after forty years way to go fellas thanx for visiting Hamilton it was so fantastic to see you !!

  • my only regret?...

    i wasnt born canadian

    ;P

  • i am from colorado tho...

    HAHA!!!

  • The only other canadian band i can think of besides the guess who and bto who are this good is chilliwack. april wine is the best

  • rush & triumph...

    fight teh good fight ALREADY!!!!!!!!

  • rush is awsome too. triumph is good also.

  • Rush?

  • Truly Awesome!

  • 4:00, day tripper? lol nice.

  • yee if you listen closely, one person is playing day tripper, one person is playing satisfaction (the rolling stones) and the rest are doing the I like to rock riff,,..It mixes very well

  • @Sandaman4 HAHAHA

    That is so true...

  • Growing up in Dartmouth (i.e. Halifax) back then, April Wine was pretty much the only band that you could count on for a concert once a year. Remember the Harder Faster tour, the ferry back to Dartmouth from Halifax got DESTROYED on the way back over...insane...it made front page of the papers n' shit. Then the Nature of the Beast tour came by and they had the ferries packed full of cops! lol More great memories..

  • I have the eight tracks and albums...that turned into cassettes...that turned into CD's. Since 1990, I have seen A.W. 25 times and have had a "few" beers with Brian and Jummy. Thanks boys for the years of awesome music. Been listening since I was 10 years old in 1970. Thats almost 40 years...wow. A great part of my life. I have great memories through your incredible music. NEEDERCE...nice job buddy! Thanks.

  • this was done in morin heights quebec at le studio.lotsa greats recorded at le studio.well done boys

  • Big time blast from the past... I believe I was in Danville, CA. '78.

  • blast from the past

  • Sometimes I give a negative comment, in order to Provoke someone in returning a negative comment... Your not the , " ONLY LOSER "....

  • RUSH ?

  • Is that really Myles Goodwyn playing lead guitar? If so, I didn't know he could play that good.

  • Yes Myles playing lead, he always did my friend. I opened for these guys in California, sold out 2000 people at Ventura Theater, its was a FRICKI BLAST, my hero;s growing up in Ontario.

  • Le Studio in Morin Heights Quebec, Canada.

The same studio Rush has recorded in and many other bands. As seen in Rush videos from Moving Pictures.

    Russia? lol

  • Does anybody know where this was filmed at?

The room they are in is, from what I can tell, an EXACT freaking replica all the way down to the size of the window and the view outside...in Russia.. that Rush recorded/played Tom Sawyer.

look at YT's video and see if I'm correct..cuz if I' am then .. well lol.. I think that's cool, because it makes wonder how many old school bands played in this stuidio? :)

Look for the video by uploader: RushRules1993

  • its definitly in canada, prolly vancouver

  • UM yeh Beatles tunage

  • Theres a sample of a Beatles song in there, I can hear it!!! Anyone else!! day tripper i believe!!!

  • They aren't sampling Day Tripper. They are actually playing it on their instruments. At the same time as playing Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones.

They are paying tribute to the two bands and the two songs; Not simply ripping off their talent as so much modern sampled crap does.

That long dead humble attitude is why this music blows away most anything being recorded in this new millenium.

  • Sound as a pound man. I should have said played but a sample can be something thats played also, can it not!!

I like it anyways, you should check out 'Heavy Goods Vehicle' too, some balls on them!!

    Peace trev

  • Saw them in the 80's. One of the best bands ever.

  • I remember Rush did a video here too!!

  • Saw um on there last leg of U.S Nature Tour. EPIC....

  • Well, I don't believe this band could do a bad song. This is the most rocking and the best of their many tunes. April Wine is simply amazing. One of the greatest bands EVER !!!

  • One Badass song.

  • great straight in your face Rock, love the raw sound

  • Now this song really rocks !!!

  • Cool. The guy has a Loop shirt on (WLUP Chicago). I had a couple of those. Chicago was a good market for playing their tunes.

  • I saw them at the Tennessee Theater back in the 80's and it was the loudest concert I have ever been to. The front band was Frankie and the Knockouts.

  • This was recorded at Rush's studio in Canada.

  • you noticed that it looked the same as the one in tom sawyer and limelight

  • Seriously..?

  • What a great era of Rock And Roll just so much talent Styx Deep Purple Foreigner Foghat Blue Oyster Cult that is not even a start I think music was to good for to long and I do not ever think we will see this type of music or musician again

  • The outro is daytripper by that little known combo the beatles.

remember seeing april wine at the hammy odeon in the late 70's early 80'sand also at the 1st monsters of rock.

great band and some great memories.

  • yeh thought so its was beatles cheers!!!

  • the outro to I Like To Rock sounds familiar, like I've heard it from a different song..

  • is this the same studio as the Rush Video----Subdivisions?----

    Great Video- Thanks

  • I think it might be the same studio as in Loverboy's "Turn Me Loose" as well.

  • Wish the quality was better, but it's still great.

  • i just saw these guys play live two weeks ago!

    still,

    such a killer class-act!

    and loud as F*ck!!

  • This shit is not as easy to play as i thought"

And to do it right with a band"..Every one's got to pay a fucking attention..This band has so much

    Dynamic's..breaks" build up's...These video's

just put them back into my life...I really fucking love

    this!

  • I have loved aprilwine since the 1980's but never had the pleasure of seeing them in concert. I am 44 and still hope to one day. The only Canadian band that I think is better would be Rush.

  • I have loved aprilwine since the 1980's but never had the pleasure of seeing them in concert. I am 44 and still hope to see them. I think they are as hot as ever and still one of my favorite bands ever. The only Canadinan group that I think is better is Rush.

  • remember this song from Dogtown and Zboys '

    skateboard movie"

  • Damn, those were the days of rock.If theyd put stuff out these days like that i wouldnt have bought satellite radio

  • Awesome! Yea, it does look like Rush's studio. An excellent song. Hard, Heavy and tellin it like it is!!!! Thanks for the video!!!!

  • i love the trailer park boys comments, the show is the best. And if thats there recording studio than thats the best too

  • YES. They're recording at "Le Studio" which RUSH recorded many of their albums over the years. Apparently it was closed and abandoned for some years and was sold within the last year and turned into a "retreat & Spa". Really sad. Someone should buy it back and return it to it's former glory.

  • i think muchmoremusic should be free. can't stand watching muchmucus (cable) anymore...nothing but crap on that station now.

  • Great tune. I like to get kicked in the teeth with stuff like this. all hail classic seventies hard rock!

oh and yes it is that studio Rush recorded in Quebec, Canada...

  • I like how the whole audio is a little fried. Gimme more fuzz! You can almost feel the power grid voltage drop when the four guitars kick in. Awesome.

  • I was thinking the same. An incredible Marshall rawness I would love to hear. Have you seen April Wine Live in London DVD? If you play guitar youself their is a great archive of tablature on their site I only recently discoverd.

  • I was about to post the same thing. I think its France or Germany.

  • That looks like Rush's recording studio

  • Pure analog talent...Some of the best ever done.

  • now play tha diane sawyer song!

  • He didn't do anything wrong, he just stole a human being.

  • Thanks for posting these 2 excellent songs back to back.

  • They Kinda remind me of Autograph, at least, the vocals. WHOO!!!

  • "play i like to rock" thats april wine rick

  • THE band that so many '80s hair bands wished they were (RATT comes to mind). Often imitated but never replicated.

  • Great Canadian band :) w00t this is rock =P

  • kick ass song!!!!

  • i know right.

  • If you wanna see them , they'll be in Moncton comming soon, I think they'll be at the rocking rodeo.

  • APRIL WINE ROKKZ!!!!

  • Yeah there from Canada, the could almost be a Glamrock band they have that (Sweet) sound in some ways. Cool band I dig.

  • The first thing that comes to mind is, this looks like the spot(studio) that RUSH used.

  • i think it is Le Studio? It looks alot like it when you watch the Limelight vid.

  • she's a roller!

  • what a rocking band.

  • Saw these Guys in Liverpool way back in '81 just after they'd appeared on the first ever Monsters of Rock Festival (The one Which Rainbow Headlined). Great show, and a great mystery to me why the fuck they were never bigger than they were over here Great Shame, in order to get some idea of how good they can be live I would recommend "Live at the El Mocambo" (Assuming you can still get hold of it) it's as good as you'll actually get to being there

  • I grew up somewhere in Central America and probably one of the very first tunes that I listen in my childhood was "Roller" and "Spirit of the Radio" ( Rush )the rest is history I love classic rock! Uria Heep. Boston, Nazaret; among many others yeaahh!! all right, long live R&R

I LOVE YOU TUBE! nowhere else I could enjoy these videos ..CANADIANS & YOU TUBE ROCKS!

  • awsome band dont know why they nevr made it truly big i saw them 5 years ago in a place called pecks place in altona ny met the whole band they were awsome they all singed a dollar bill that i still have

  • this song f*ckin rocks! April wine is up there on my list of the greatest rock bands of all time! Does anyone know where I can find guitar tabs for this song, they are nowhere to be found online!

  • Speaking of the Loop, I remember being in Boot Camp at Great Lakes and having this tune come on a radio that someone had. It was so great to hear them after being cooped up in that jail for so long..Rockers for sure. Can't find this song on iTunes.

  • Jerry Mercer on drums! a whoa!

  • thank you for taking me back to the good ol days, these guys rocked in concert lemme tell ya

  • this band can really rock loved it when i was a kid and still do

  • Kick ass tune! Been years since I've heard that. Hmm, I didn't know they had 3 guitarists. Great song!

  • they have three guitars because they kick ass and didnt want ot have to much editing, so instead of having one person play 3 guitar parts and have it not sound the same in consert they have 3 guitars so they can kick as much ass in consert as they do on there vinal

  • Not to mention that the vocal harmony just WORKS with that many live voices.

  • kickass tunes!great job!Thanx for sharing!!

  • I wish they had these 5 members again I wonder if that will ever happen.

  • April Wine was the shit when I was a kid. If you didn't like them you got your ass kicked. Sound just as good today as then. CANADA ROCK!

  • FU**IN AHHYYYY!!

  • What memories! I remembere that "Loop" shirt!

  • Dude playing lead is wearing a cut-off Loop (popular Chicago FM radio station) T-Shirt, now almost 30 years later, those shirts are hip again...

  • yea those shirts have been around forever, use to see a lot of them in the eithties and late 70's here in the u.s.

  • Excellent band...and video...Ive rocked all evening with april wine...thanks again for posting it...I have all their albums.

  • Thanx nedeerc.... add this to all the other great tunes from the era...

  • no prob

It's nice to see the appreciation of a great band. I'm stateside so any April Wine stuff is hard to come by. They are just a great rock & roll band! thanks again.
