can anyone tell me why people are so hurt and upset and mad and down right out mean to the newsboys because the hard working member than toured for 12 or more years and then went home to the studio and then toured again and never got a break, i mean idk get it, why are people so hurt over it...if you were in that situation, someone playing music for God, would you want fans fighting and complaining because one member takes a break from touring for a while?

Take some time, open the Word, get refreshed in the Lord. Have some prayer time. The Lord Jesus Christ will give you peace that passes all understanding. Don't worry about what other people say. I've been a NB fan since the beginning, yes I'm talking RAAI and even BWBB. Jon James was the frontman back then and when it was announced that Peter would replace him on vocals I was a skeptic. Peter did a fine job, but he was never the same as Jon. Now Tait is the frontman and he has something P and J lack- a true singing voice. I'm sure Twill do a fine job, but he is not P nor J so you can do one of two things. 1-give up the nb's, or 2- get over yourself and enjoy the ride!
Funny,I saw the Newsboys last March and the excitement at the show I saw and this one is not the same at all.Usually when they take the stage you can barely hear them,this is not gonna work,beginning of the end for the boys from "down under",can't really even call them that anymore.
Well,I think it's more than just that.You can't just walk into their concert's without paying,,you don't walk into a store and walk out with an album,you pay for it,they are asking you to pay for it.

I dont think it will ever be the same without peter, it was his touch that made it the newsboys concert, and now there wont be any drum off, and that was one of my favorite parts of their concerts, i really will miss him on stage
I rather enjoyed this. This is the best video of Tait singing with the Newsboys out right now. It gives me hope that everything is going to be all right. Everyone needs to realize that this type of thing has happened before to rock bands and has had favorable results. When it came to replacing Peter Furler, Michael Tait is sort of the total package. Great chops, charisma, and most importantly a heart for God.
i saw an interview and the other members said that he just needs a break nothing about damaging vocal chords ...its a video that is on youtube book for it ..its when they were at a radio station and not the one from way FM
I am very sad, this is making me cry again. Tait's okay, but it's not the Newsboys. I'm really missing Peter. He's even trying to sound like Peter which doesn't sound right. And I've heard this guy sing much better (Like on God can You Hear Me, Just Between You and Me). I'm very disappointed. What stinks too is I have tickets to see them next Friday. Peter should have finished the tour before doing this. :(
I actually like the new sound Tait gives them...but it seems that they lost their energy...but it is an awesome step in their career...not going to lie, I kinda like this!

yes it the same song with the same massage..but thats like saying the supertones replaced their LEAD singer with phil Joel..there is now way he sounds the same! so yes same message but dont call it by the same name.I am a fan of both Tait and newsboys, I have worked with them many times,however not together. I like pickles and peanut butter....but not at the same time. Plus we dont even know how true this is....why would newsboys (on this current tour) be sell merch with the aussi flag on it?
Yes it is true. It's all over the newsboys website, etc. And I do want them to continue as the Newsboys because they are doing just that...spreading God's News.
I respectfully disagree with you Eveningstarz41. I never listened to the newsboys for their message. I started listening to them when I was in high school back in the "take me to your leader" days. I got into them because I liked their sound and their songs made me laugh. I am a Christian and appreciate the need for music with a message. But the style of music is also important if you want to attract fans. Tait and the newsboys just don't jive.
Like I said they'll all B singing 2gether in Heaven, we might as well get used 2 it now. IMO, the message 2 the song is just as important if not more important than the music itself. From my experience, I can tell you that listening 2 songs just 4 the sound can be dangerous spiritually. Whether you listen 2 the words or not, the words do have an effect on you, whether it be positive or negative. There are many bands that have the same sound as the NB, so it's the MESSAGE that makes them unique.
Wow ..um..I hate to disagree again but it is NOT the message that makes it unique....Tons of songs say the same exact thing, but the all SOUND different. i heard the supertones and did not even realize they were singing about God. It was the way Matt sang it his voice his sound. It is ok to like other bands just for the sound..rap, blues, ska.....Peter would not sound good singing country songs. Do you understand what the rest of us are saying?

Oh by the way, the concert was great, although it was more of a Newsboys/DC Talk tribute concert. :)
It's also sad what happened to John James. But it is a blessing that he is doing much better now! Such a nice man he is!
