hes got heart and the integrity to do it but he needs to work on his smarts. If he was that dedicated and knew his weakness was his intelligence he should work on it. isn't there a certain score you need on your ASVAB to become a SEAL; specifically a high one? that was my only fear of joining the navy, not scoring high enough or having a waiver that didn't allow me to attend buds... can someone give me a little more information on this?

Continued from below-- I'm just saying that if he has this level difficulty passing what is actually a very simple test, he is merely setting himself up for failure and limited opportunities later - whether in or out of the military. It would be nice if everyone could qualify, but the reality is that many can't. It's unfortunate that he was held up in the spotlight like this, but he's not ready for prime time. Only my opinion, but my USMC service in Iraq earns me the right to voice it.

He still has a bit of accent in his english. I'm sure that is where his problems with the ASVAB are coming from. Non-native english speakers often have problems with these types of tests. With some pratice he could do it, he certainly has the heart for it.

@stevegreen65 Yes, there are quite a number of study guides available, as well as interactive tests on the recruiting sites. But what some of the guys on here are missing is that there is a lot of difference between having an an education (which this guy does not) and being able to slip by on the ASVAB. If you have a good education, the scores will naturally be there. If he studies just to pass a test, then he will still be academically deficient and at a severe disadvantage. Does he need that?
@sumerall You should see one of Buds131's other videos. He had a guy who could impersonate Christopher Walken spot-on! It is probably going to be the June 2010 course, I can't remember for sure though.

@OrangeYaGlad123 Actually if you go by numbers the age range with the highest percentage of successful BUD/s candidates is 22-25 according to an old page on the Seal/Swcc site. I went to this course and I would say that you don't know if you will or won't make it after but you will find even the SEALs won't say who can and more importantly who CAN'T, because they don't even know. If they knew who would(n't) get through the pipeline there wouldn't be an 80% loss rate and BUD/s wouldn't exist.

You CLEARLY don't know anything dude. That thick Asian accent could serve this country very well. Do you watch the news?! A lot of Asian countries aren't in good standing with the United States. Having a SEAL that could blend naturally in those environments is something the military would value.
