This is when Coldplay really ruled the world. The songwriting and instrumentation on the A Rush of Blood to the Head album was all superb. Now they're too much of a pop act and need to go back to their roots.

To say that they need to go back to their roots is to discount the albums since AROBTTH. That seems foolish, considering the evolution of their music.

I agree. AROBTTH was no doubt a great album, but part of being a musician is evolving. What's the point of making music if you just keep releasing stuff that sounds the same as before.

I know all that and don't get me wrong I like X&Y and Viva la Vida, but I personally would like the songwriting to go back to the way it was on AROBTTH. I definitely support the evolution of any artist, but even you guys have to admit Coldplay are a lot more poppy now than they use to be.
