  • I think and it's only my humble opinion..... She runs because her feelings scare her and when she stops at the door (i hope) she realizes that SHE is free and can LOVE freely and TOTALY. ;)

  • So .. did she love him in the end or what?

  • It is the best scene in the film.

  • BRAVO!!♥

  • この音楽大好きです。 i love jane campion!!

  • The most poetic, beautiful ending scene I've ever seen! These last seconds are so complex and subtle - you could discuss it for hours.

  • @RoLorenz please, can you explain the end ... :( that it is on her mind :) everybody is saying that the love theme is opened very subtle through this film. As it is. This love to Ralph, yes? Because the stop in front the door seems like she decides to be the same as before, before marriage, to be alone... this turn to the garden did not says that she is ready to be loved by him (who was waiting her during these years... do not remember name)

  • @SuperKnysliukas Perhaps she realizes that this was the one passionate moment in her life, a moment of true and pure desire. She waitet so long for it .. But at the same time she succeeded in overcoming her desire. This man was her last chance .. But during the hardest ordeal - his kiss - she breakes away from him .. When she holds on and turns around, maybe she realizes: now she is free.

  • @RoLorenz I agree with you, he is the last temptation she has to overcome to be herself at last

  • haunting, masterpiece.

  • masterpiece

  • all Hail Viggo, the best actor on the face of the planet.

  • For me, this is the best scene in the movie!
