Yeh hey I think Im pretty sure the bible talks about Ron Paul walking on water too lol give it a break being constitutional doesnt make him Jesus.
PS as long as you dog republicans 95% of the time your friends list grows a might short. Paulites are going to steal any voters by just being anti-war LOL
Ron Paul obviously isn't Christ. However, his politico-economic views, as informed by Austrian economists and the Founding Fathers, are what motivates his listerns/viewers, as it does me.
Dr. Paul's honesty is practically non-existant within the corridors of government. This point is extremely important when acknowledging his popularity with liberty-minded individuals.
The reason i joke about libertarian majority is because they want to invent "liberty" according to their own individual perspective. They mostly have no biblical standard for Liberty.
God gives Liberty, not man, and he definitely has boundaries to how much and how little Liberty Humanity should have.
Liberty is based upon natural law, that is it is granted form God. The paleo-Libertarian extends liberty all actions that do not directly injure a party other than ones self.
I was not aware there was any other definition. Libertarianism is not without rules. Lacking the latter, this translates into becomign a "libertine" as opposed ot "libertarian."
hmm interesting...so should we include rapists and serial killers and child molesters in the jury approving and creating "natural law"? Or just the "sane" people who are self righteous enough to think they're standard of right and wrong is more moral than someone who think molesting a child is acceptable?
If Libertarianism is not without rules, who or what can ever determine what those bounds are? what standard? democratic approval/orthodoxy?
if thats the case, why do we humiliate the nazi's for the holocaust or any other looney regime in history? They're standard for orthodoxy or Liberty is identically as fallacious to anyone who think Liberty can be defined or bound within mans limits, not God standard, the bible.
@gf4rce First off, you just broke Godwin's law, which is a no-no in regards to debates.
Secondly, man does not define natural law. By definition, something that is natural exists already without human invention. Man merely derives what natural law is and attempts to prevent himself and others from violating or adding to it.
You seem to be keen on the BIble, so why don't you go and read what Paul said about how the government exists to promote standards of not killing each other or stealing.
well who or what invented the nature by which natural law came about?
Man may "derive" natural law(s), but should all men despite background or beliefs be a part of that derivitation process? or just the mediocre men, not right wing or left wing nuts, the people on the edge of lunacy..?
The government exists to protect its citizens and for capital punishment, biblically.
To imply that anyone or anything can operate without the influence of sometype of religion
is impossible. Everyone believes something, even atheists BELIEVE in nothing.
Everything has a creator sir, even law, and man is much to corrupt to be that determiner by merely democratic processes or logic. Hence our balance of powers and republic.
Also, government does not exist to promote a specific moral agenda. It exists to protect our lives, freedom, and property. If you don't believe in moral freedom, I suggest you read the parable of the prodigal son. Man must be allowed to engage in evil activities in order to see how despicable they are in order to realize a need for redemption. In a society where the government dictates morality, there is no need for religion.
correct, government does not exist to promote religion but for a government to try and operate and mandate without the backing of religion is impossible.
I am not endorsing Theocracy but I am endorsing the impossibilty of objective government operation without the open endorsement of some religion. Your statement about men be allowed to do wrong to realize redemption is amazing. Why didnt the nazi's come to that realiztion?Stalin?China?Iran?Castro? there is no guarantee of this.
@gf4rce the reason why those nations did not come to redemption was that they were quasi-religious states, forbidding Christianity. In an ideal world, no religion would be mandated or forbidden. Therefore, each religion could freely exist. People would also have the ability to engage in sin up until they realize how awful their lifestyles are. Then, if Christ truly is as powerful as made out by the Bible, he will lead said people to him. Do not discount the power of your God.

Ron Paul is the hands of our enemy. Ron Paul = Controlled Opposition. Who will ever suspect then that all these peoples were stage managed by us according to a political plan which no one has so much as guessed at in the course of the century. - Know Thy Enemy
No one has their hands in Ron Paul's pockets. As far as "Controlled Opposition" goes, the only problem is we have too many citizens who still haven't taken the time to THINK about the implications of RP's message. Dr. Paul never made it about himself--He made it all about his message! Its OUR fault, not his, if we don't act upon it Otherwise, we we always be looking for yet another human Messiah do to for us what we should be doing for ourselves as citizens!
hm.. i don't think so. Staged opposition would be more of the ilk of Alex Jones et al - more Hollywood, more divisive. Definitely more charismatic. I think they've allowed Paul to be heard because opposition is valuable to them - but he's not in on it. He definitely doesn't say all he's thinking... it would be political suicide... but If you have some evidence (beyond omission of some important topics, like 9/11) that he is in the hand of the enemy, do tell.
Great piece SA and I see that Ron Paul's message is really starting to get under the skin of the neo-cons and neo-liberals.

I can't agree with you about Bernanke. I think he saved it by following Milton Friedman's prescription for avoiding a deflationary crisis by dropping rates to 0% and creating lots of money. I think your video shows you don't really understand why Bernanke is viewed as a hero that saved the economy by those who do.
I know it well enough to know that deflation is not the end, but rather a reset and new beginning. It rids the economy of those entities that live a parasitical existence on society. It does not matter because the dollar, just like every single other fiat currency in the history of the world, will go bad.
Friedman and most other neoclassicals are wrong when it comes to the nature of monetary theory. For corrections try the works of Mises on Credit and Money.
@ediblepet even if that were the correct solution, counterfeiting is morally bankrupt. It was a shock for myself to have to denounce Milton Friedman as a monetarist with free market leanings rather than an upstanding moral authority in economics.
Yes, Bernanke is following Friedman, but I believe more insight can be found in Rothbard's "America's Great Depression"
Awesome video dude...Ron Paul is the Thomas Jefferson of our generation and I am proud to be aware of that now and to help this man's great message be heard. His message of wisdom and truth is the only TRUE HOPE for us to save this dying country
When I saw Bernanke on the cover of Time, I thought it was a joke. It still is a joke. Time has been out to lunch for a long time. Now I know it's just an instrument of the propaganda machine. I'll be glad when we have our R3VOLUTION. It won't come too soon.
I bet the keynesians are working on a fairytale story like "they caught Osama Bin Laden", it will all be staged and theatrical. Be careful not to get cornered logically.
Time's Man of the Year is decided by one man, the head of Time. What a joke. Ron Paul is definitely the man of the year for all those who understand what he says, and for the courage he has in standing up for what he believes and knows to be true.
If Ron Paul is winning over the GOP could he run again in 2012? could he actually win this time? Wow that would be exciting. The establishment would lose their minds.
i couldn't vote for ron paul last election, i live in nevada, and like many states, write-in votes don't count. in nevada, even if 95% of the voters wrote in ron paul, he wouldn't win
Nevada doesn't allow write-ins (so I guess that's why he's saying they don't count?) and Paul wasn't on the ticket. Though "None of the Above" was some how, and got 2% of the vote.
@tattypatty It's a fair bet he does, but evolution is irrelevant to his political views because it is irrelevant to the Constitution. It doesn't matter for anything where we came from, it matters that our rights are protected. If it's a question of education, the Federal Government should not be in charge of education, because all it does is mess it up and the average American student gets mysteriously dumber every decade under the DOE. There are no facts to support the existence of the DOE.
He has never said he doesn't believe in evolutionary theory. Though he did say he doesn't believe it should be taught in schools as fact, or the federal government should mandate that it is or something like that. You can read inbetween the lines there or live in denial like me.
SA, wow! Where have you been all my life?? Your commentary is right on, easy to understand, and sorely missed in the State run media. Thank God for the internet.
obama is a better speaker, a very slick and articulate man, but men like him will destroy our country - ron paul tells and writes the truth, which is why he's been unsuccessful at national politics
the fact that a federal reserve criminal gets "person of the year" and a federal war crime commander gets a "nobel peace prize" prooves that all these awards are useless political brainwashing.
I sort of agree. Paul should be an integral part but he shouldn't define the WHOLE movement. There are plenty of great libertarians running this year as well as those from the past and in libertarian groups across the nation. we just need to organize and stop focusing on bullshit like silly conspiracy theories like 9/11 Truth.
I believe that it will. The problem is that he is still has BY FAR the highest profile in the libertarian movement. I think that over the next 4 years we will see many more libertarians grow in prominence & name recognition. It has already started with Rand Paul, Schiff, Kokesh, RJ Harris, Debra Medina, Chuck DeVore, David Ratowitz, etc. One of these people will rise through the ranks of libertarians & become the next "Presidential candidate" type. Then Ron Paul can ride off into the sunset.
I don't disagree entirely, but he has a heart and scruples that you would be pressed to see matched.
Not to say he doesn't have his own baggage, he isn't very charismatic, tends to stumble or ramble while speaking (I do too), and you know those newsletters, no matter how retarded the accusation is, will haunt him forever.
I'd like to see Paul be president, I think he deserves it, but realistically... it isn't impossible just an uphill battle against a public that likes style over substance.
The Person we need running for president is Gary Johnson, he is Ron Paul type and has the record to back it up. Best of all he has the Charm and people skills that Obama has. He is young, fit and self made. Ron would make a great Vice Prez as he is smart and knows the ways of congress. Plus it would be nice that the Vice have some brains. Quail, Gore, Chaney, and Biden are all morons. Wasn't old enough for Bush Sr. so i really don't there.
I actually agree. Up until the 'incident' I was thinking him or Sanford.
But Johnson has his own problem. From what I've heard he divorced his wife and then a year or so later she died from cancer. I haven't looked too deeply into it, as it isn't really my business, but I can see the spin doctors tweaking the facts to make it horrible. I guess we should prepare for that?

Awesome video dude...Ron Paul is the Thomas Jefferson of our generation and I am proud to be aware of that now and to help this man's great message be heard. His message of wisdom and truth is the only TRUE HOPE for us to save this dying country
pgadeb 2 years ago 5
When I saw Bernanke on the cover of Time, I thought it was a joke. It still is a joke. Time has been out to lunch for a long time. Now I know it's just an instrument of the propaganda machine. I'll be glad when we have our R3VOLUTION. It won't come too soon.

Paul is too old to run for prez.
Look to Gary Johnson for the next champion of liberty.

Gary Johnson is great on most issues, but he is wrong to advocate nation building in Mexico. See watch?v=TYyQMPt4Yr8

Ron Paul 2012
I bet the keynesians are working on a fairytale story like "they caught Osama Bin Laden", it will all be staged and theatrical. Be careful not to get cornered logically.

RON PAUL 2012! ARE WE READY YET?
ladonag 2 years ago 6
Time's Man of the Year is decided by one man, the head of Time. What a joke. Ron Paul is definitely the man of the year for all those who understand what he says, and for the courage he has in standing up for what he believes and knows to be true.

No surprise that Bernake is a Jew, they have a tendency of running national economies into the ground.

If Ron Paul is winning over the GOP could he run again in 2012? could he actually win this time? Wow that would be exciting. The establishment would lose their minds.

ron paul got .22% of the vote in nevada, bob barr .44%
megagagnon1 2 years ago
that's the only reason i voted for bob barr
megagagnon1 2 years ago
i couldn't vote for ron paul last election, i live in nevada, and like many states, write-in votes don't count. in nevada, even if 95% of the voters wrote in ron paul, he wouldn't win
megagagnon1 2 years ago
What are you talking about, Ron Paul came in 2nd place in Nevada, it was one of his best states! He was on the ticket, no write in needed.
WDeet 2 years ago 4
I think Mega meant the general election.
Nevada doesn't allow write-ins (so I guess that's why he's saying they don't count?) and Paul wasn't on the ticket. Though "None of the Above" was some how, and got 2% of the vote.

Now if only he would accept evolution...
tattypatty 2 years ago
@tattypatty It's a fair bet he does, but evolution is irrelevant to his political views because it is irrelevant to the Constitution. It doesn't matter for anything where we came from, it matters that our rights are protected. If it's a question of education, the Federal Government should not be in charge of education, because all it does is mess it up and the average American student gets mysteriously dumber every decade under the DOE. There are no facts to support the existence of the DOE.
SaintEntreri 2 years ago 4
He has never said he doesn't believe in evolutionary theory. Though he did say he doesn't believe it should be taught in schools as fact, or the federal government should mandate that it is or something like that. You can read inbetween the lines there or live in denial like me.

obama is a better speaker, a very slick and articulate man, but men like him will destroy our country - ron paul tells and writes the truth, which is why he's been unsuccessful at national politics

Ben Bernake actually accomplished things, Ron Paul had a bunch of white men making a splash on the internet and raised some money.
The white men for Ron Paul couldn't even prevent the John McCain delegates from manipulating the caucuses and elections.
Ron Paul is great and all, but his fans like SouthernAvenger are delusional idiots.
That shotgun is more likely to shoot your foot than anything else.

DAMN RIGHT!
the fact that a federal reserve criminal gets "person of the year" and a federal war crime commander gets a "nobel peace prize" prooves that all these awards are useless political brainwashing.

You know, I think the Libertarian movement needs to move past Ron Paul, who is not exactly the most articulate spokesman in the world

Ask Obama to match this. He can't.
ThePhaedrus83 2 years ago
I sort of agree. Paul should be an integral part but he shouldn't define the WHOLE movement. There are plenty of great libertarians running this year as well as those from the past and in libertarian groups across the nation. we just need to organize and stop focusing on bullshit like silly conspiracy theories like 9/11 Truth.
whoo689 2 years ago 2
who is a more articulate spokesman?
utubehayter 2 years ago 2
I believe that it will. The problem is that he is still has BY FAR the highest profile in the libertarian movement. I think that over the next 4 years we will see many more libertarians grow in prominence & name recognition. It has already started with Rand Paul, Schiff, Kokesh, RJ Harris, Debra Medina, Chuck DeVore, David Ratowitz, etc. One of these people will rise through the ranks of libertarians & become the next "Presidential candidate" type. Then Ron Paul can ride off into the sunset.
LibertasRAC 2 years ago 2
I don't disagree entirely, but he has a heart and scruples that you would be pressed to see matched.
Not to say he doesn't have his own baggage, he isn't very charismatic, tends to stumble or ramble while speaking (I do too), and you know those newsletters, no matter how retarded the accusation is, will haunt him forever.
I'd like to see Paul be president, I think he deserves it, but realistically... it isn't impossible just an uphill battle against a public that likes style over substance.
Silvsilvchan 2 years ago 2
The Person we need running for president is Gary Johnson, he is Ron Paul type and has the record to back it up. Best of all he has the Charm and people skills that Obama has. He is young, fit and self made. Ron would make a great Vice Prez as he is smart and knows the ways of congress. Plus it would be nice that the Vice have some brains. Quail, Gore, Chaney, and Biden are all morons. Wasn't old enough for Bush Sr. so i really don't there.
eviljagtech 2 years ago 2
I actually agree. Up until the 'incident' I was thinking him or Sanford.
But Johnson has his own problem. From what I've heard he divorced his wife and then a year or so later she died from cancer. I haven't looked too deeply into it, as it isn't really my business, but I can see the spin doctors tweaking the facts to make it horrible. I guess we should prepare for that?
