I used DOSBox, the game runs pretty well, although I couldn't play with the better quality soundtrack because my recording software refused to cooperate with it.
Well DOSBox is pretty much the easiest way to run games like this, so my advice would be to follow the tutorial on the website. It's not that hard, really.
@schaedenfreud82 why didn't you recommend a GUI front end instead? I know how to use DOSBox, but I use a front end to make it easy to run the 40-50 DOS games I have on my drive, Just open the front end, scroll down the list of games, double click it, and it starts. Simple and easy and quicker than opening DOSBox and doing the setting up everytime.

I don't know if I have the same amount of patience as I did back when these games were released. I however never heard of this one it must of passed me by.

Oh Lands of Lore! i've never had the opportunity to play it but I'd heard about it several times.
