  • American cars are over priced like all other Japaneses European-an cars. China an India is going to teach those companies a lesson for the rest of their lives.

Tata Nano is just a start. If those companies won't reduce their product price, they will shut-down easily. Mark my words

  • I'm sick and tired of China's poor products, in one week alone I have returned three different products made in china, and have ran into others that I have not purchased but witnessed their poor build and design. Give me well made products made in the USA or Japan, or Germany even if I have to pay for it.

  • yeah every1 wants to pull up in a tata or chinese(can on wheels) car hahaha

  • If you get the information on how to calculate 230 mpg for the volt, please post it.

  • From the Volt product website:

"230 MPG and 25 kWh per 100 miles driven represents a preliminary GM est. of the final approved city rating; actual MPG and electricity consumption will vary based on many factors including driving habits, weather and road conditions and operation of electrical systems in the vehicle."

"Assumes fully charged battery. Actual range may vary depending upon driving habits and conditions. Vehicle features and performance capabilities subject to change without notice."

  • I'd say that the EPA's test specifies that the vehicle must be driven a fixed number of miles to obtain an average fuel consumption. The Volt likely couldnt make the distance on electric alone, and the generator kicked in for the last 30 or so miles, using enough fuel to average 230mpg of the total distance.

  • Thanks for the information. I wonder if the EPA has more details. It is good to see the 25 KWH per 100 miles detail.

  • AutolineDetroit great reports but i wonder why the American auto maker still want to stick this idea in our brain that this is the first time ever they have made EV car ?? according to my memory and i believe this was GM they have made EV cars before in the 90's between 1993 to 1997 I'm not sure but they have did made that before and for some reason that of course bad reason they took it back from people who did leas that cars

  • Screw free trade,,make everyone pay
