  • thanks. im in the OA dance teams and am making my own Porky hair roach... ty :)

  • so its pretty much 2 overhand knots?

  • fisherman use this knot when they tie up there boat, except they create a bight when they pull it through

  • @12peter96

no we use the figure eight.

  • @rgoodson979 no we use the two half hitch made with the bight...i would know this cause my uncle is a fisherman and ive gone fishing with him for the past two years

  • @12peter96

Dude, Licensed Captain and Deck hand for 12 years. I know lol. You can use both. But figure eights do the job and its much safer than a half hitch. Because on occasion the half hitch is extremely hard to untie.

  • @rgoodson979 look were from different spots and the two half hitch knot works the best from where im from because of strong tides but it is a very easy knot to untie if u tie it correctly

  • good knot but is much stronger if passed around the loop twice before doing the hitch

  • 1 Round, and a reef knot.

  • Thanks

  • A simple knot that gets the job done. I am going to link to this page and recommend it for use on my product, the Game Glide.

  • Wouldn't that be a half hitch with a round turn?

  • on my scout book they are so hard to understand

    thanks

  • the one knot i have trouble with haha! i have my eagle scout master conference tomorrow =D

  • @innout4L How`d your scoutmaster conference go, did you tie knots? I have mine this Tuesday.

  • @airshowproductions mine went well, i didnt tie a singe knot. and i have completed my board of review also i am officially eagle, how did yours go?

  • @innout4L CONGRATS!!! Completed my conference; turned in my project today. Waiting for them to approve, and then I`ll have it. Not sure when, yet.

  • @airshowproductions im glad to hear you got your eagle too, it feels great to be done, my court of honor was last weekend, im done done done!

  • @innout4L Yeah, I passed April 22nd, 2010. (My B.O.R.) How'd your Eagle Court of Honor go? Can you give me a idea on how to plan those, or how you did?

  • @airshowproductions mine went great, it was about 30 minuets long and i had a BBQ after, i had it out doors in my back yard and set up about 50 chairs, i had a little table up front with me and all the awards stuff on it, i opened the court of honor then turned it over to my scout master who talked and ran most of it, then it closed with him pinning the eagle on me, then we had a very tasty dinner afterwords for all the guests.

  • @innout4L Sounds beautiful!

  • This is actually a " turn 2 half hitches". It is not a knot as a knot is tied on itself, it is actually a hitch as it is being secured to a bar or spar. To improve the hitch, you can do a round turn on what you are securing to ( making 1 and a half circles around the spar ).

  • thank you so much! Boy Scout

  • it can actually save lives hoodiejames, im a firefighter and we use these knots among with other types of knots to secure tools even get a ladder to the roof or other floor level so have some respect man.

  • I have to learn, and teach this for camp twice this year to a large crowd. I am very glad that it is posted. It actually is very useful.

  • then you sir, are munted in the face

  • im not sure what munted means.

    butyeah.

dont be all insulting a video. some people could need to know this.

    IT COULD SAVE THEIR LIFE.

    probably not.

    but yeah.

  • @hoodiejames it could save my life, i dont have dexterity to untie knotts. half hitch is perfect easy to tie, strong, easy to untie, in a survival situation you dont want to lose 3 feet of your rope cause you cant untie a knott
