Addiction is a disease according to the American Medical Assoc. It is a brain disorder and it doesn't have to be drugs. It could be anything that you impulsive and compulsive about. It could be work, money, sex, food. NA deals with the disease not the substance and it works. To those that can use successfully more power to yo. I a not knocking you. It is great to see people discussing how they stay clean. Why do we have to consider it a competition. We all know our lives are so much better when we aren't using drugs...not every part of ANY program will be 100% for anyone but if we take what works for us to stay off drugs and beccome better human beings in the process this is a win/win situation. The facts seem to point in the direction of, it's not the principles or the philosophies which truly encapsulate the magic, it's the intent we invest in whatever theory we feel holds OUR truth, our personal idea of what is true. I have read the NA text . I tried AA didn't work for me just like in the past it didn't work for others and that is why NA was created by Jimmy K and some others in the AA fellowship
BTW, I'm not judging, I'm simply reiterating the principles of the Book you hold so dear. The Books of your Fellowships, of which I have much knowledge, would have you to know that if you do not work the steps and live a life based on it's principles, then you are indeed doomed to a life of dispair. You may want to actually read these books, AA and NA, you will find that your chances are less than you think, if you do not commit to the philosophy spoken of in the books. Sorry, you're buried.
Hmmmm......You may need to not only work some steps but clean your glasses. The NA basic text says to work the program to the best of your ability. Also it says after working the steps you will find out how the program will work for you.

So when godless was drinking, and if you were with her, then you would be repsonsible by that logic. AA has a voluntary program that has worked for millions who WORKED THE PROGRAM. Now all this does is provide a stable baseline so that you can begin to address the real problems that make you thirsty. It is not a cure all, and the book talk in length about outside help of many different forms.

This Is NA not AA and we deal with the Disease of addiction not the substance, as it is only a symtom we also recognize we are no different from any only that we have an incurable disease. We know the th attitude of Uniqueness, hip, and cool are part of the Character defects that we have. Hi Tommy, I am about to go to my first NA meeting tonight. I have been in rehab 2x an addict of various drugs, mainly opiates and benzos though for many yrs. But I am so glad you cleared that up about the unique, hip, cool, thing. I always felt different from ppl. in AA. Not better, just misunderstood. I was told to by a person on a hot line to try a meeting and even offered me a ride to a meeting??And did also mentioned NA He really appeazred to care. I may really try this out but I do not know abouyt 12 steps. What ever theat means. I want to MAYBE look into going but is there any in my area.I will say that I may have a slight problems taking pain and what ever makes me high or not to feel. Nothing illagal so that is a good sighn but it seems like I can not stop . Drink helps but when I do that I go to far. I loose memory I really want to get what ever that is but I was told I have to do an "invotory". What is that? And how long does going to NA last? I hope you will give me any info you have. In Na we are group of people coming together to help each other stay clean and live a productive life. The therapeutic value of one addict helping another is without parallel for one addict an best understand another. can I relate? I was a practicing addict for 33 yrs. I have been in an out of NA for 15 yrs. I now have a little under 3 yrs clean. I lived to use and used to live. I didn't know any other way to live. This is not a Cult. It is a group of support and love

I am too part of the NA fellowship, its better to get busy living than dieing, but never forget to create your own identity as a person and who you are. Live and breath na, or doing service and keeping na in your life for life is two different things! :)

As for individuals outside of NA, they are under no obligation to abide by our guiding principles, though many will be respectful if politely informed of how their actions may do a disservice to NA.

It is great to see people discussing how they stay clean. Why do we have to consider it a competition. We all know our lives are so much better when we aren't using drugs...not every part of ANY program will be 100% for anyone but if we take what works for us to stay off drugs and beccome better human beings in the process this is a win/win situation. The facts seem to point in the direction of, it's not the principles or the philosophies which truly encapsulate the magic, it's the intent we invest in whatever theory we feel holds OUR truth, our personal idea of what is true. Because everything is just a belief, a theory when on it's own, holds no water. I know that in my heart that God, no matter how you understand him, does work just like the 12 steps do. So he keep moving on and the haters of the 12 steps keep sitting in their own mess. The Books of your Fellowships, of which I have much knowledge, would have you to know that if you do not work the steps and live a life based on it's principles, then you are indeed doomed to a life of dispair. You may want to actually read these books, AA and NA, you will find that your chances are less than you think, if you do not commit to the philosophy spoken of in the books. Sorry, you're buried.

So when godless was drinking, and if you were with her, then you would be repsonsible by that logic. AA has a voluntary program that has worked for millions who WORKED THE PROGRAM. Now all this does is provide a stable baseline so that you can begin to address the real problems that make you thirsty. It is not a cure all, and the book talk in length about outside help of many different forms.

Te Clean time date is a Birthdayof a new person been reborn spiritually a decision to walk away from an old life to live a new way. We don't want to forget about the past , it reminds us of what and where we do not want to to return to. NA is Spritual non-religious program helping people get and stay free from the use of drugs people sharing the past with those just coming into the program to show Identification and also sharing the hard times and the triumphs of a new life without grugs

This Is NA not AA and we deal with the Disease of addiction not the substance, as it is only a symtom we also recognize we are no different from any only that we have an incurable disease. We know the th attitude of Uniqueness, hip, and cool are part of the Character defects that we have. NA is NOT a cult but a program of one addict helping another get and stay clean and free from the use of Drugs and change the attitides and behaviors that lead us to such destructive paths

Hi Tommy, I am about to go to my first NA meeting tonight. I have been in rehab 2x an addict of various drugs, mainly opiates and benzos though for many yrs. But I am so glad you cleared that up about the unique, hip, cool, thing. I always felt different from ppl. in AA. Not better, just misunderstood. Anyone who sits around fantasizing about looking hot, cool and sexy drugged out just isn't right....RIGHT? lol Thanks!!!!!!!

The purpose of the CULT of A.A., is to recruit more gullible sheep in order to HERD said gullible sheep into the Cult. One of the biggest issues with AA is that the people actually think they are "special" cause they are addicted. The environment is a breeding ground for those with the victim mentality.

I just wanted to say that, Tommyguns, I have seen your videos all over the place and I really like them. I've recently gotten in a place where I am unable to make it to meetings and it is really nice to see a message of hope when I need it. Ah, and to be reminded of why I'm doing this. Thanks.

Buyer BEWARE! do'nt get a DUI in the state of Texas! They will crucify you! The cow boy cops are in this mental. that they are still in the wild west! They run around with there cowboy atire. Some even still are on horse back! Please do'nt drink or drive or take any pills that make you buzzed. I almost got arrest but I sweet talk this fat cowboy and I was on my way knowing I had taken Viko. And had a 12 pack. I thank the saints in heaven and or god . I want to quit but it is trully hard.

first time i'm posting comment here to a recovery friend(hopefully)...by the way i took the na program 4 years ago in bangladesh....i was a multi drug abuser....marijuana..brown sugar...alcohol..charas..raw opium..codinol+promithisin...some other....now lead a better life in australia....being able to quit cigarette two months ago...but quit my job today ..used to work in a kitchen as a cook...so stressful

I am going to try this out. I may try AA And the na but whuich one is better? I was told to by a person on a hot line to try a meeting and even offered me a ride to a meeting??And did also mentioned NA He really appeazred to care. I may really try this out but I do not know abouyt 12 steps. What ever theat means. I hope this works because I am tired of talking pills and drink And the craving very powerful and do feel that there is no way out. I hope this works

If you try NA, you will probably have your lawn mower stolen.
If you try AA, you will probably be raped during your fifth step (if you make it that far).
Lawn mowers can be replaced and arseholes will eventually heal. It's all much of a muchness...

I want to MAYBE look into going but is there any in my area.I will say that I may have a slight problems taking pain and what ever makes me high or not to feel. Nothing illagal so that is a good sighn but it seems like I can not stop . Drink helps but when I do that I go to far. I loose memory I really want to get what ever that is but I was told I have to do an "invotory". What is that? And how long does going to NA last? I hope you will give me any info you have. I have NEVER told anyone this!

In Na we are group of people coming together to help each other stay clean and live a productive life. The therapeutic value of one addict helping another is without parallel for one addict an best understand another. can I relate? I was a practicing addict for 33 yrs. I have been in an out of NA for 15 yrs. I now have a little under 3 yrs clean. I lived to use and used to live. I didn't know any other way to live. This is not a Cult. It is a group of support and love

And WHAT is a sponser??? What is the purpose of that? The queston I have is because I will admit I wish I could have that feeling of happieness that people have in there eyes. And not have to be fucked up on not to feel at all! How ever in many cults and you say that this is not people have that is similar. But all I can say I WANT to get things under control. No It is not a cult It is a program that has worked in the lives of many addict trying to live life without the use of substances. I have not lost my mind in NA I lost it when I was using. Today I am a husband, a Daddy, a business owner and a respected person by those who matter

I am sorry if I offended you: However I have heard that in this kind of org. that people go through certain process and one is a kind of "invatory"? and people are told that there is no will power to succeed???? Does that sound like ? I have noticed in the many videos that ader. na that people look very happy. very much so that they either are punch drunk or have a spiritual thing going on. I am very corious about this org. and do have queston about it. I do want to see what this is all about. ?

I am too part of the NA fellowship, its better to get busy living than dieing, but never forget to create your own identity as a person and who you are. Live and breath na, or doing service and keeping na in your life for life is two different things! :)
