Wow that crow is amazing. Using traffic to crack shells can only be done through intelegence, not instinct. I think the derogatory term "birdbrain" doesn't apply very well to the crow. David Attenborough is doing a documentary, with emperor penguins in it. It reminds me of Planet Earth. The extinctions and cruel methods of pest control are sad. :(

Weren't the banner ads to the right sufficient, Google? I swear, if this fails to load one more time because of the commercials, I'm going to actively boycott the products advertised. What's more, I'm going to visit the companies' websites to tell them why I am doing so. Hopefully other youtube viewers will follow my example so that you WILL lose money, Google.

Hey, I have a question about birds. I'm doing a science project for school which tests The Effect of Bird feeder color on Birdseed Consumed. I used primary colors and measured the amount of birdseed consumed by measuring the absence of birdseed in the tube in centimeters. My results Clear was best, Then Blue, Red, and Yellow. All results are significant (Use Kai-Square). Clear having a total of 173 cm of birdseed consumed, Blue 144, Red 91, Yellow 42. Can anyone guess why this is? (I live in PA)

Your null and alternative hypotheses should have been considered well before you carried out your tests, and indeed incorporated into your experimental design. What were your hypotheses?

That said, perhaps it's something to do with the birds' ability to discern the contents of each feeder as a food source. I'm a biologist, but not an ornithologist... do the birds you were studying see in color? Were the feeders all the same type of seed, and only visited by birds and not squirrels?
