  • Mike, love your music, my father played steel all his life & I grew up on these very tunes,he died 1971...In 2006 I travelled all the way from New Zealand to Clarksville, Arkansas,to meet and hear Bev.King play, Bev. gave me a DVD of you ,her, and Charlie Collins.."Remembering Oswald" it`s a treasure.Your sounding more like Os every time I listen, keep it up !

  • Mike , I met Os in 74 ,He would send Me tapes and explain what He was doing , He and Charlie would come and play concerts, where ever I was living and even brought Mr Acuff to Minnesota in 79 , I had the pleasure and privledge of playing Dobro for Roy on 3 shows that trip, the last time I was with Os was in 90 , I have some good footage at His house and in Maggie Valley with His Brother Ernie playing Guitar ,take good care of Herman , I learned how to play on that Dobro .

  • I learned to play on os's old dobro to and am proud to be "trying" to carry on his type of music. Thanks for the kind words.

  • Thanks for this video! And by the way, love that Wilma Lee and Stoney LP in the background!! You must have an appreciation for the same music I grew up on!

  • I spent a good while playing dobro in Wilma Lee Cooper's band and she was a pleasure to work with.

  • Was Billy Pack playing banjo at that time?

  • Yes, Billy was with us at the time.I'd like to hear as to how he's doing haven't heard from him in a while.Mike

  • I used to hear Billy way back in the early 50's when he was playing with the Lilly BROS. in Oak Hill WV He was a real good banjo player then. Should you hear how he is doing let me know. Thanks John
