i hate my wife... she complains about my ptsd and its effects on me... she is in control of my finances because im deemed incompetent...she treats me like a kid and i hate it...she calls me slow because of my meds and mocks me... if only she realized how dangerous it is for her to treat me that way... she has her fun but doesnt realize how much it effects me...
@93CFD I'm a female survivor with ptsd and my husband does this as well...you can't help what you've been through, the PTSD isn't going anywhere, our spouses? who knows...Either way we are coping the best way that we can and that's all that we can do. let them try living in our shoes. my advice is to find someone who will appreciate the great man that you are and what you've sacrified for this country.
@DOCPTSD-There are programs..VA just brushes shit like this under the rug. My dad was a vietnam vet and suffered a long time with this and alcoholism. My mother and I actually took him to the VA hospital,he was diagnosed with PTSD and they still released him even though he CLEARLY had the symptoms in his records! He committed suicide on 10/23/2010. All this could have been avoided had they not refused him for treatment. Im so mf mad!
Thanks for your efforts to inform the public. The arrogance of most government officials is intolerable. WE THE PEOPLE pay them to work for the benefit of all citizens, but they aren't doing so. Their appalling neglect of veterans and their families is one of many examples. They're gorging themselves on public money and catering to a fatcat minority at the expense of the majority. We need to haul their asses to public hearings and make them accountable for their actions.
Thank you for speaking the truth.... the whole truth, for the whole family. I have suffered 24/7/365 for 18 yrs and counting. Interrupted only by brief moments of relaxation. The hyper vigenlence does not go into the "off" position. Thanks again LAPD and UCLA for the PTSD. Alphabet soup... I joke with my finance and say ooooooops just had another "ptsd moment" and we laugh. I wouldn't wish this on ANYONE. Combine the film Groundhog Day with LOST and you come close to how it is.... time freezes
And there are yet no programs, comprehensive programs, for military or V.A. ! The Senate Committee for Veterans Affairs is feckless. The military does not wish to put programs in place. I know for fact. I am former military psychiatrist during Vietnam 1968 and recent service to the third Infantry Division. Further, the rift of having Iraq and Afghanistan represent PTSD as if it is the province of their war diminishes the total view of what is needed for all veterans. Thanks for your concern.
@DOCPTSD So true. My dad was a WWII aerial combat vet. He was often angry and depressed and lashed out verbally at my mother and us kids. He killed himself later. My son's 10-year-old schoolmate was shot and killed by his father, a Vietnam vet with PTSD, in a murder/suicide. My daughter's ex-boyfriend, an Iraq combat vet with PTSD, is an alcoholic and addict. I'm an RN but had to retire early due to complex PTSD that started with my father's abuse. Authorities cannot be trusted.
its called the drs fucking up on her md meds and she crashed i saved herlife both times but if the emt's dint come and giver the eapy shoots she would have died but she was dead thare was no pulls
It gets better but even then there are lingering parts that seem to get embedded into the personality. My advice as someone who has had it for quite a few years; find something like music, singing, dancing, etc that you can shut the door and get lost for a few moments everyday and don't be afraid to cry or lock the door and have a fit if you need to. Trust me, it helps.
