The video title is wrong, the scenario is a terrorist exercise being conducting by members of a Russian SWAT team. Training in Russia is more hardcore and real than here in the U.S. The teams conducting the exercise know whats going on from start to finish. The exercise went well.

The stick is designed to give the stun granade guy , dead on acuracy and time to step beyond the explosion that obviously happens behind him and leaves him UNHARMED. watch him pedal back pulling his gun toward the pretend terrorists. i think someone else threw a grenade or something because the explosion came from the back of the bus but the guy throwing in the nade was in the middle. So maybe it was a accidental explosion. Either way it was a close call.

The commando does indeed have a length of explosive on the end of a stick. Apparently the charge was supposed to blow out the windows for entry and stun the occupants.

If you look carefully, however, you see that the secondary explosion comes from inside the rear bumper (the green part) of the bus. It blows that part to smithereens, parts everywhere, but leaves the rest of the bus untouched.

Obviously there was some other kind of explosive in there that was triggered by the breaching charge.

It's all to plan. The driver exits on the left as the armor vehicle fires on the bus. The riders would be protected from a mild, controlled explosion by lying on the floor. It seems an exercise on stopping a hostage/terrorist situation. Nobody was hurt. Note how the first bus rider staggers out and is ignored by the first soldier who boards the bus. The confused rider goes to re-enter the bus, but is assisted. Also, note the apprehended suspect spring to his feet as he is taken into custody.
